Staff was knowledgeable and helpful, but we were dissapointed to learn that unlike what some have said here, the fries are not in a dedicated fryer and are always cross-contaminated, making them not an option for us. We were so thankful that our waiter was familiar with celiac/gluten-allergy and gave us updated information; it saved us from a nasty travel experience.
Burgers with gluten free buns were tasty and we'll made. No issues.
Their GF bun is pretty good! I’ve been here 4+ times and have ordered Jakes Special & haven’t had a reaction. I’m gluten intolerant & pretty sensitive to cross contamination & have had their fries & not had a reaction, but if you are celiac, definitely ask if they have a shared fryer. Overall i’d definitely recommend.
If you aren't celiac, I highly recommended. The gf bun was maybe the best I've had. However, my burger came in a regular bun first, and returned quite quickly on a gf bun, so it definitely wasn't remade. Good food, but don't take gf seriously.
I was excited about the gluten free bun for the burger. The manager was very knowledgeable and I felt comfortable having a meal there. The fryer is not dedicated so I had a side salad. Had a long talk with waitress about what was safe. At the bottom of my salad I found a crouton. I thankfully did not eat it but it was still enough to make me sick. I am so disappointed because the manager truly seemed to care but her kitchen did not. I can not recommend Jakes because the kitchen did not take an allergy serious.
