Simply awesome. Safe with dedicated kitchen as others have said. Spoke with owner and he’s very knowledgeable on cross-contamination risks. One of my first GF meals that truly didn’t feel like I was sacrificing any part of the experience!

I have not been able to safely eat a cheesesteak in about 6 years so when I heard about Jays I was a little nervous to try but all of my fears went away after taking to the staff there. They have a completely separate kitchen so my food was 100% safe and the food was beyond amazing. I did not get sick at all afterwards and I loved how some of the staff members shirts said “keep calm we are celiacs friendly”!

Will continue to go outta my way to stop here!

Jay’s is not only my go to for Gluten Free cheesesteaks since I have Celiacs, but my family members ask me to get them my gluten free order over going anywhere else. The best cheesesteak place

The quality is amazing. The bread stands out from any place I’ve been to. The menu is so gluten friendly that there are only a few things that aren’t able to be GF

Jay's has two entirely separate kitchens - one for GF and one for regular. The GF kitchen has its own separate fryer and everything. GF items are clearly marked in green on the menu, and come with a green sticker for easy identification. For anyone who doesn't follow their Facebook page: They are doing phone-in orders ONLY during the pandemic. You give your CC payment info over the phone, and they will text you when it is ready for pickup. 100% contactless pickup via numbered cubbies on the covered patio (e.g. "Hi Lisa, your order is in #3"). As of June 15th, they are going to start window service "soon" (accepting CC or cash).

My husband picked up Jay’s last night (on a busy Friday evening, but he was close by and we’ve been wanting to try it). I was hesitant with CC on a busy night but we were told not to worry. We got wings, cheesesteaks, and fries and they were delicious. No reaction whatsoever- this is going to be our new favorite Friday night takeout. Thank you all for being so kind and accommodating- the celiac community desperately needs establishments like you!

Thanks to this app I stumbled upon this amazing find while on my way home from out of town trip and looking for something local. Amazing to have gluten free cheesesteak, at least for a NYer without any options near me. It's about 2.5 hours away but plan on making a detour whenever possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Love love love this place!! Jay is super friendly and so are the other staff I've seen. They have a separate gf everything, so I got to have a pretzel roll! It was amazing. I've tried the roasted pepper and garlic cheese steak, loaded potato dip on pretzel roll, cheese fries, and pulled pork fries. I reheat my leftovers in the oven and they're great!

Amazing!!! I don’t know the last time my husband who has celiacs was able to have a real cheesesteak...this place is worth the trip no matter where you’re from. So fresh, so delicious. I’ve had both the regular cheesesteak and the gluten free buffalo chicken cheesesteak and was not disappointed! The fries are incredible too - fresh and hot and not greasy at all. We will be regular customers for sure!

**update on 11/11/2019 - Absolutely love this place! Worth the drive from wherever you may be. My husband suffers from celiac disease and to be able to find an establishment that serves a gluten free authentic Philly cheesesteak is unheard of. We've visited 5 or 6 times now and it does not disappoint! We've had the cheesesteaks on pretzel rolls and regular rolls, the cheeseburger fries and standard cheese fries, the cheesesteak salad and the wings. Everything is incredible, flavorful and well-made. Best of all, we tested the wings and cheesesteak with the Nima sensor (the digital test that detects gluten in foods) and both came back negative for gluten!

We've recently ordered party trays for our annual fantasy football draft which is held over Labor Day weekend - the guys (both celiac and non-celiac) were able to enjoy hoagies, cheesesteaks, wings and fries. All of the guys kept asking where the food was from - they loved it so much! The presentation of the trays was so well put together and easy to transport. Jay had an issue with one of the supplies that weekend but worked with me and assured me that my order would be ready to go! We will definitely be doing that again. I would even consider having a big backyard party just so I could rent the food truck!

Jay is a great person and business owner - always giving back to the community and putting his heart and soul into what he does day in and day out. Highly recommend for all!

I walked in today and ordered 2 veg subs. The man sitting behind the counter asked me why I would choose to be vegetarian if I was gluten free. (?) I paid $28 for the two subs. My daughter and I took the 2 subs to an event my other child was involved in. We opened the subs, the paper was soaking wet. The mushrooms were from a can, the lettuce was shredded and filled most of the dry, hard tasteless gf bread along with a few onions slices and peppers. No salt or pepper or any seasoning for that matter. The best part? I’m sitting in a port o potty at the event because I am having a celiac reaction.

First time I’ve had a cheesesteak and pizza fries since being diagnosed with celiac about 5 years ago. I tried the pretzel roll steak. Honestly It wasn’t bad, but I had wished I had just gotten it on their regular gf roll (next time). I just wasn’t a huge fan of the combination, but glad I tried it. The pizza fries were kind of soggy, and the cheese wasn’t fully melted. My kids got an order of regular fries and those too were soggy (they need to cook them longer). Next time we will ask for them to be well done. I also tried my kids’ chicken fingers. Again these were a bit soggy, when chicken fingers should be crispy. We also weren’t big fans of the taste of the breading (or perhaps the oil they were cooked in). So why 4-stars? The selection is outstanding, they have a separate gf cook area and dedicated fryer, Jay is very nice, and the soggy issue can be resolved simply by asking them to cook the deep fried items longer. Looking forward to trying an Italian hoagie next time!

Love, Love, Love the new GF pretzel Roll. I have been ordering at Jays for GF for years. He has always had a great selection and delicious food for me. I love that he is constantly adding to and improving the GF menu. Jay really looks out for those of us with Celiacs with his dedicated kitchen space and drive to make sure that his team is fully trained to handle Gluten Free orders when he is no there. Did you know that Jay also donates a portion of his sales of Pretzel rolls to feed the needy? All around great choice to eat here! You will not be disappointed!

This is about as close as you’re going to get to a steak sammich around here. Prices are steep, but don’t forget that regular wheat rolls are insanely cheap to start with so a few $ premium for a GF roll isn’t a big deal. I recommend going while the sun is shining first time. It’s in a rural/residential area with limited parking.

I found Jay’s about 5 years ago when I was visiting family in Philadelphia googling for a gluten free cheesesteak. I low key cried tears of joy the first time I had one. He uses against the grain rolls (yaasss) and you can eat safely with your gluten eating friends and family as they have a completely separate prep/cook area for those with celiac or an allergy. He also has gluten free chicken tenders if you’re not in the mood for a steak or hoagie. It’s a must try if you’re in the area!!!

Jay’s is my new favorite take out spot, I’ve been going at least once a week! A huge chunk of the kitchen space is dedicated gf, the girl behind the counter was kind enough to let me take a peek to ease my mind, she was super knowledgeable and helpful! My boyfriend is non-gf and they always make sure to put our food in separate bags. I don’t know if it’s the time we go, but the service is always quick, foods always ready within 15 minutes of ordering. It is mainly a takeout place as they only have a table or two inside, but it looks like they have an area outside with more seating for when the weather gets nice! Everything is absolutely delicious and I feel 100% safe eating here. Ps. Jay’s is known for their pretzel roll (not gf), which from what I understand is pretty bangin, and Jay is now working on making a gf version!!! I was lucky enough to stop by on a day he was experimenting and was able to have a sample. Best gf roll EVER and I hope they add it to the menu as a permanent item!
