From the moment I asked if there was gluten free options the young lady behind the counter seemed very inconvenienced and annoyed. Its been so long since I have been treated like this that I was really surprised. I ended up not ordering any food and leaving. I wasn’t too trusting of the process anyways when she laid down a piece of paper on top of the dirty counter to prepare the sandwich. I’m assuming the sandwich would have been wrapped in this paper... hence contaminating the whole meal. We left before she made the sandwich because she said we couldn’t get a kid sized sandwich because she didn’t know how to charge us extra for that? Oh well. I always wondered why this place always shows up in the Find me GF app. Now I know it’s because they “might have gluten free bread” sometimes. But don’t expect them to treat you with kindness or make your sandwich carefully.
No
Staff is very knowledgeable about gluten free options. Even to the point to remind me there would be cross contamination if I ordered a hot sandwich due to all bread going on the grill. They also changed their gloves and used separate tools and cutting boards for gluten free bread. Definitely recommend.

Nima tested and approved! Staff was crazy nice at the Paso Robles location, willing to talk through the allergen precautions. Also-it was delicious! The udi’s bread that they serve is 10x better than any udi’s product I’ve purchased at a grocery store. Even saved half for the next day and it tasted great! I had the gluten free Club Sub. SO delicious!
Yes
Great to find a sandwich chain that has gluten free bread. They use Udi’s and the buns are individually wrapped. All condiments except Teriyaki are GF, and they ask if you need a glove change.
$2.50 extra for gluten-free bread. Sandwiches are good. They were pretty good with precautions. Still, if I were super sensitive, I’d be worried about the amount of wheat flour crumbs floating around.

Service took a while. I ordered ahead of time even. I waited around 15 minutes once I arrived and was told it would take longer because of my allergy. Overall bread was hard and fell apart while eating it.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to get a gf sub. They asked allergy or preference, wiped down the counter, put down paper, used a clean knife, changed gloves, and were cool about grabbing toppings from the back. They even moved the sandwich to fresh paper at the end of the line instead of wrapping in the paper that had sat on crumbs. Altogether I was impressed! At most locations I have to correct things as I go down the line, but the two staff who interacted with me here seemed very well trained on gf protocols.

They ask if you have an allergy or preference when it comes to the gluten free bread. After stating I have an allergy they cleaned the slicer, the counter, and all of the staff switched gloves. A new employee had accidentally used the mayo knife so they gave me new bread and then they use the squeeze bottle of mayo to prevent cross contamination. Everyone was very friendly, understanding, and aware of how to handle my allergy.

Amazing processes and protocols for safe handling of gluten free sandwiches to avoid cross contact. They explained their protocol to me without me prompting or asking any leading questions, showing me that know how to prevent cross contact.
