They have a lot of GF options. My one complaint was that the burger bun was hard as a rock. Overall we had a great dinner experience.
Always my favorite and they take GF very seriously. Order comes out separately and they prepare in different part of the kitchen.
GF options clearly marked on their regular menu. SO GOOD! We went twice it was so good! Highly recommend!
Excellent food and celiac friendly! Know what they are doing!
Very yummy! Shrimp skillet appetizer was so yummy with gluten free bread! Gluten free menu and our waitress, Tiara, was so knowledgeable and caring!
Delicious grouper sandwich and fries from a dedicated fryer that didn't make me sick! It was such a great meal!
Excellent experience here, twice. Separate prep area for gluten free foods, and follows proper prep protocol (fresh gloves, utensils, etc.). Drinks are pricey - they trade off Buffett's name obviously - but you're in the tourist section of the harbor, so I lived with it. Fun fact: Jimmy's sister Lucy Buffett owns Lulu's in Destin. Check them out too.
I've been living with a pretty severe wheat allergy for close to 10 years now and have had a wide array of restaurant experiences some not so great but never truly bad until eating here. I am typically very skeptical of trying new places but I was in Destin on vacation and this is one of the few places that seemed to have enough good reviews for me to try it. I wish I hadn't. A few hours after eating something from the gluten free menu I was feeling pretty bad; not horrible to the point that they botched the whole gluten free thing but more like a cross contamination issue. I would suspect the fries as the culprit but can't be totally sure. I wish I could say that I had a great meal and got sick but alas I can't. The meal itself was pretty bad. I had the flat iron steak and somehow it came out tasting repulsive. Some of this can probably be attributed to it coming out rare (like still mooing rare) when I asked for medium but not totally. It tasted horrible either way. I would have sent it back to the kitchen had the waitress come around before everyone else in my party finished their food. Which brings me to the service portion of of this review which can pretty much be summed up as appalling. We saw our waitress maybe 5 times and she was very unfriendly throughout. So just to sum up everything I've said... Gluten Free friendly: no Food quality: terrible Service: appalling Needless to say I won't ever try any of the restaurants in this chain again. Maybe I just had a bad experience and all the stars aligned to create a truly awful time but I've shared my experience and you can decide if eating here is worth it.
If you like fish, get the grouper sandwich here! It comes on a super delicious GF bun with some heavenly tropical coleslaw on top... It was amazing! I had mine with a side of fries and tried the GF brownie for dessert. The dessert was good, but a bit dry and crumbly. Overall, we had a fantastic meal and and great waterfront view 👍💕🌴
Ask for the gluten free menu. They have gluten free buns for burgers
It was a good burger. Fries left me uneasy and i ordered from the gluten free menu. I think they may have been tainted.
I'm a GF vegetarian & they made some awesome nachos with black beans instead of chili. They were SO good! They have a separate GF menu but our waitress didn't seem to know a whole lot about GF. Be sure to tell them ahead of time & they put on the ticket to have the chef prepare it separately!
We ate here last night. Lots of choices and great service. I have celiac and get sick very easily. I had the cheeseburger with french fries and had no reaction at all. Also there is a gluten-free brownie dessert with ice cream and whipped cream was fabulous. We all shared it because it was very large servings. The waiter knew about select the seas no problems here Will definitely go again when we come back to Destin.jmo
Good gluten free menu. Staff took the time to answer all of our questions. Celiac friendly.
Loved it! Nice options to choose from.
Terrible service. We were seated then waited for 15 minutes and were never waited on. We left and let them know how long we waited but they were very unapologetic. We went during lunch time and the restaurant was not busy.
Service was awesome, food was delicious, prices... well, more like $$$$. Much more expensive than we were led to believe. Ten dollars for a kid's meal is bit high.
amazing food! I got the nachos as a meal instead of an appetizer and they were delicious. they have a nice gluten free menu and the restaurant itself is so beautiful!
Food was awesome! No sickness
They have a GF menu with several items, including burgers, fish, and a couple appetizers. I had the taco salad, which had chili instead of taco meat, but it was yummy. The star is the GF brownie sundae, which fed four of us dessert for 7.99. You can sit inside or outside on a covered deck feet from the water, watching boats go by. Our total was $72 for 4 people. It is right next to a dolphin cruise, which we took right before we ate here, in the Marina in Destin, FL.
Drunken shrimp with GF bread to dip in the deliciousness!!! Yum!
Great food. Very knowledgable.
Definitely GF friendly. I was told the Executive chef has a gluten intolerance. They have a GF menu and take great care and explained how everything is cooked in a separate area. I had not had a burger with gf bread and sweet potato fries in a long time. The menu had appetizer options and desserts as well. Definitely going back!
This restaurant opened Feb 2014. They have a gluten free menu with a handful of options- burgers, grilled fish sandwich, salads, appetizers and desserts. The waitress also tols us the fries/sweet pot. fries were GF too. After we ordered, the manager stopped by to let us know that the chef had been alerted of our allergy order. He had us repeat what we ordered so he could confirm with the cooks. The service was a normal wait but the food came out hot. My husband had a cheeseburger and fries & I had a grilled fish sandwich with sweet potato fries. The GF bun was very tasty (same bun as Red Robin restaurants). We were very impressed with the food & facility and had issues.
Had a burger with gluten free bun and side salad. Tasted great! Service was wonderful and very helpful! Had no celiac reaction.
Like his sister's "Lulu's" chain, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville does a great job with GF, Celiac-friendly dining because the siblings have a family member with Celiac. They have a great menu and we ran into no trouble with cross contamination. BONUS: Margaritaville even has a GF dessert!
Really good food, family had gf burger, had gf chicken sandwich, & sirloin steak. The FF r cooked in a dedicated frier. Had many options on the regular menu listed as gluten free option available. It was Saturday night & they had a live band that was really good.
Food was excellent! I had the cheeseburger in paradise and fries, no problems. Service was also very good. Prices were a bit high and I thought the music was too loud. Other than that, great GF meal!!
Unless you get a burger, there are very few options. I was very disappointed. It was so loud that conversation at our table could not happen. The ribs were dry and horrible. The waitress never refilled water. Did you ever eat hard pepper coated ribs with nothing to drink. I paid $26 for my meal and left hungry. Never again!!!
Totally disappointing. Ridiculous wait. Absolutely stiflingly hot with zero air movement in the restaurant. The food itself came after another ridiculously long wait and it was barely even warm. It wasn't even that busy. Pick another location for your dinner.
The normal menu denotes the gluten free options. There were quite a few options for entrees and sides. The waitress was sufficiently knowledgeable because it was on the normal menu. My boyfriend didn't get sick afterwards. It is a little pricy and our waitress wasn't very attentive, but I would recommend it because the view was nice and the other waitresses seemed better than ours.
I've always been anxious about traveling due to the fact that I have celiacs and am afraid there won't be many options to eat. I'm SO happy to say that Margaritaville takes extreme care for people who have food allergies! The chef came out and showed me the options and I didn't get sick! Dedicated fryer for fries and has a nice choice of options for people who have gluten allergies!
In general: the food was okay. I spoke with a manager and decided on the gluten free burger on Udi's bread and apple slices without the caramel (because we couldn't veridy if it was gluten free). My child had a gluten reaction to something. milk? lettuce? tomato? beef patty? Who knows...? *I did call to let them know what happened and they did promise to figure out the glitch so future patrons will be safe.
AWFUL. Please do NOT eat here if you have Celiac. I was so excited to see their separate gluten free menu with plenty of options, but I couldn't have been more disappointed. They had the set up to be great, but the execution was terrible. I ordered the gluten free version of the nachos and what came did not include half of the items listed on the gluten free menu. When I asked the waitress about these missing items she blamed it on being the gluten free version. She told me sour cream is unsafe because it always contains gluten. It was $16 for tortilla chips, salsa, and shredded cheese that wasn't even melted. I decided on the burger and was told the fries would be made in a separate fryer. I got very very sick during a special occasion. I would not recommend this to anyone with Celiac or serious gluten sensitivity. Not to mention anyone else because the service was awful.
Thank you for having a gf restaurant in a land of pseudo gf restaurants. Tourist areas seem to have a lot of places that say they are gluten free, but they know little to nothing about what gluten is, cross contamination, or why we are so concerned about it. Margaritaville gets it. After frustrating attempts at other places, I always know I can get a safe meal here! I may just eat here every night of our next trip and save myself the headaches.
I ate here twice during my recent visit to Las Vegas. I ordered the cheeseburger, on the first visit I was informed by my server that I am unable to have the fries only a side salad. On my second visit, the server seemed a little bit dosey when it came to Gluten free and he offered me the fries. I ordered the cheeseburger with a side salad again to be safe. When the burger comes out it will have a stick to signal it's Gluten free. I did not get I'll after eating here but I would recommend to Be Cautious when ordering sides if you have Coeliac disease.
Ate here several times this week while on vacation. They were MUCH improved over my last visit a couple of years ago. Restaurant was recently renovated and has a new menu which very clearly calls out GF options. GF buns available and a dedicated fryer for fries! Chef visited our table on each visit to explain how the food would be prepared to avoid cross contamination. Very impressed with their focus and diligence. Highly recommend.
Nachos as appetizer, many meal choices, and brownie sundae for dessert!
Bummed. We've had great experiences at the one in Universal Studios Orlando but this one was a disappointment. We'd previewed the online menu to get an idea of our order only to find they had a "brand-new menu!" The fact that their gf dishes are designated with a tiny wheat shaft is probably pretty telling. Oh well. Proceed with caution.
kudos to Margaritaville! Exceptional service to gluten-free people. I eat in very expensive restaurants and never has the chef come out to speak to me. I had a hamburger with the gluten-free bun and fries which came from a dedicated fryer. I also had a angry orchard beer which is gluten-free. Everything was delicious !
Excellent food. Dedicated fryer.
Great experience for Celiacs - good gf options, cook came out on his own to assure us that they take it seriously and change gloves, etc. Waiter was fun, too. The fish sandwich was good, but a little dry - ask for extra sauce. Or get catch of day.
absolutely wonderful experience eating here! i told the hostess upon our arrival that i had celiac and needed to be gluten free. she let our waiter know and he was just great. the manager even came to our table to make sure everything was okay and asking if we had any questions. the food was delicious (get the fish sandwich yummm!) and i am not sick :)) ps they have a dedicated fryer (but i wasn't feeling like fries so i had a salad)
We knew this was mostly a tourist place but went to have the legendary nachos. They were excellent. Disappointing was that even though it was a slow night (off season), the service was pretty slow and our waiter uninspired. The burgers were yummy and the GF bun was good. I would try it again.
Gf veggie burger on gf bun is terrific Fries are gluten free -IF you tell them you are celiac. Apparently they cannot use the salt from the kitchen (it's got something in it that makes the salt not gf?) but you can just salt them when they arrive at the table The table salt is regular sea salt If you are gf, they immediately bring the chef out to speak with you-they handle it very well Salads, meats, they have a dedicated gluten free menu and can make many items gf if you request AND they have a Gluten Free brownie!!! Fun atmosphere, right on then boardwalk Fun music, music videos, live bands and fun drinks
As soon as we told the server our son has Celiac's Disease he went and grabbed the cook to come to our table. The cook explained how everything was done and we felt very confident after that. My son has the burger with a GF bun as well as GF fries - he loved it! The cook also explained how they make the Volcano Nachos GF but we didnt order any. All in all a great experience!
Pretty good GF menu and they have a separate kitchen to avoid CC. Chef comes out to talk to you when ordering. Was disappointed that they no longer have fish and chips on the GF menu which I had read about in earlier reviews. I had the beef and chicken skewers with island rice and plantains. I eat Dairy Free as well as gluten free. Food was not the greatest, but still enjoyable and I didn't get sick, so we'll put this one in the W column!
Ate here on Christmas day and was told they are now serving onions rings and that the fryer was no longer safe for celiacs. Still enjoyed the chicken sandwich, but with a side salad instead of my usual order of fries. I asked the server to make sure the rest of the staff knew to warn customers of this latest, disappointing development.
