This place was awesome, I have very severe celiac disease so going out is always a gamble. Well right off the bat the manager reassured me that the staff knew about the disease and how serious it is. He also sat and went over the whole menu with me and recommended what he felt was safest. I got a burger in paradise with fries, the fries are the only thing that go in that fryer as they have separate fryers for all other fried foods. It is very pricey but the amount of food that you get is amazing. P.S they have a gluten free brownie sundae that is off menu that is to die for!! I felt 100% safe eating here. Also ask for patty she was the best!
The menu is marked but we asked for a manager to be sure. The chef / manager came out and was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was good and the chef came out to check on us again to make sure we were happy and to reassure us about the food being gluten free. With this kind of service and attention to detail we will definitely eat here again!
Waitress was a little shaky on her Celiac/GF information but I asked for a Manager. He came right out, explained everything they do in the kitchen, educating the waitress, as well and I felt comfortable ordering. Was told they have a separate section in their kitchen for GF prepping. I did not get sick. Will go again.
Don't bother with this location. We have been to other locations and had great experiences. Server not knowledgeable about gluten free procedures or even if fryer is dedicated or not. Managers did not follow their own procedures regarding speaking to guests with celiac disease or allergies. Waited too long to get average, cold food. Spend your money somewhere else in Pigeon Forge.
Gluten free options are clearly marked on their menu. The server was knowledgeable with the gf menu items. I had the catch of the day which was salmon, served over rice with mango salsa and broccoli. It was delicious and very generous portions.
We ate there twice during our week in Pigeon Forge. Both times the chef came to our table to discuss the order and assured us that they take Celiac very seriously. We felt very confident in eating there and did not experience any problems. Gluten-free items are marked on the menu.
Wow amazing. The chef cane out to explain they change gloves, prep my stuff with new cutting board and knives and that the fries were in a dedicated fryer. He assured me they take this seriously and as I celiac I did not have to worry. No worries here and amazing food especially the fries!!!! Ps if you stay at the margaritaville hotel you can get GF room service from this restaurant. Woo hoo
The paradise margarita is fresh squeezed, so no prob with any gluten mixes. We had the volcano nachos and split the bison burger and fries. Lots of options, menu is clearly marked and food was delicious. Sides are not marked but waitress assured me the fryer was designated for fries only.
This is probably one of the best GF experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. Our server's name was Jasmine, and she went above and beyond to ensure that my meal was definitely gluten free. Margaritaville has a great gluten free menu to begin with, including GF buns for their burgers/sandwiches, and they also have a dedicated GF frier - which the fries were amazing! I had the Volcano Nachos as an appetizer, and the Cheeseburger in Paradise with fries. I so wish I could have tried their GF brownie, but I was so full! I would go back to this restaurant in a heartbeat.
Unless you get a burger, there are very few options. I was very disappointed. It was so loud that conversation at our table could not happen. The ribs were dry and horrible. The waitress never refilled water. Did you ever eat hard pepper coated ribs with nothing to drink. I paid $26 for my meal and left hungry. Never again!!!
Thank you for having a gf restaurant in a land of pseudo gf restaurants. Tourist areas seem to have a lot of places that say they are gluten free, but they know little to nothing about what gluten is, cross contamination, or why we are so concerned about it. Margaritaville gets it. After frustrating attempts at other places, I always know I can get a safe meal here! I may just eat here every night of our next trip and save myself the headaches.
Great experience for Celiacs - good gf options, cook came out on his own to assure us that they take it seriously and change gloves, etc. Waiter was fun, too. The fish sandwich was good, but a little dry - ask for extra sauce. Or get catch of day.
absolutely wonderful experience eating here! i told the hostess upon our arrival that i had celiac and needed to be gluten free. she let our waiter know and he was just great. the manager even came to our table to make sure everything was okay and asking if we had any questions. the food was delicious (get the fish sandwich yummm!) and i am not sick :)) ps they have a dedicated fryer (but i wasn't feeling like fries so i had a salad)
Pleasantly surprised by the level of care taken with my food once I mentioned I have Celiac. I spoke with the manager who brought out their chef to detail how things are handled in the kitchen. Had the catch of the day (salmon), which was delicious!
We had a great experience here. Had the fish sandwich topped with coleslaw and great jalapeno tartar sauce. Typical Gluten-free bun but the fries were great. The fish was grilled but tasty and substantial! Staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Would return!
The waitress, Jessie was very helpful explaining the gluten sensitive features of the menu. They have dedicated fryers and segregated prep space. The manager came to the table and explained their food preparation procedures. The food tasted great.
Our first time eating here and we really enjoyed it! The atmosphere can be a bit noisy, as a heads up... choose your seating wisely. Menu-wise, they have dedicated gluten-free AND vegetarian menus! Such a plus. The green beans (vegetarian option) impressed us the most. Not overly salty or buttery, just a refreshingly balanced seasoning.
I recently visited Pigeon Forge and decided to try Margaritaville. We ended up going twice during our trip. Our waitress was very nice and seemed to know about the importance of Gluten free food. I had the cheeseburger in Paradise and never got sick. Except for eating too much. Our second visit was a little different. Our waiter was nice and seemed to know a little about gluten free but he told me that someone would come and talk to me. What I am guessing to be the kitchen manager or someone along those lines came out and said, "so we have a gluten allergy / someone with Celiac Disease over here?" I said yes. he said " well you have no need to worry, just sit back and relax and we will take care of you. I will personally bring your food to you." i said thank you and we waited for our food. the food came out great and once again I didn't get sick other than eating too much. I plan to return during my next trip.
Two members of our party have Celiac. One ordered a gluten-free hamburger with fries and the other ordered a chicken Caesar salad. The gluten-free burger was prepared correctly however the salad came with croutons on it. The croutons were not gluten-free. The manager was sincere in his apology, however the damage was done. The manager did comp us a gluten-free brownie for the mistake. Aside from the croutons, the gf burger was good and so was the service.
Stopped here for lunch a few days ago. Had a great experience. Staff was knowledgeable about gf and were very accommodating - no eye rolls or acting like it was a burden. Had the Cheeseburger in Paradise with fries. It was pretty decent - not the best burger I've ever had, but it was a good solid, SAFE gluten free meal. Would recommend.
My family and I went here for dinner despite another person saying they were contaminated. We did Not share his experience. We had a wonderful meal! I had the fish sandwich on a gluten-free bun and the French fries. ( Yes they have a dedicated fryer) We ended up eating there twice while in Gatlinburg and both times had a great experience with knowledge staff who were very attentive to our gf needs.
Very accommodating to our food allergies. Out server was nice and checked on several items for my boys. They are gluten, dairy, and soy free and I am gluten free. They each had a child's hamburger plain with no cheese. One had lettuce on his. The had apple slices for sides. I had the chicken with mango salsa. They loved the burgers and my food was excellent.
Celiac / gluten-free review Fantastic service and concern for gluten free. Not my favorite food or prices but will support regardless due to fantastic diligence and support for rating gluten free. Even had dedicated gluten free menu. + Gluten free chili nachos!!! 😃
Ordered from the gluten free menu the volcano nachos for an appetizer. Was told that the gluten free chips were fried in a different dedicated fryer. 15 mins from my first bite and I was in a full blown wheat/gluten ingest reaction not just a contamination. We had to leave and immediately return to the hotel room. Worst reaction I've had in 15 years of diagnosis. Would not recommended this to anyone with celiac.
Our waitress was awesome and very helpful with helping me with gluten free alcohol drink. she went to ask the bartender about some gluten free drinks I could have. she even made sure to tell me that the french fries were gluten free and were fried in a separate fryer then any of the other foods.
Amazing cheeseburger on extremely edible gluten free bun. Fries are made in dedicated fryer & no joke, they were so good I almost saved my burger for later do I could eat them all. Server understood cross contamination and was NICE- no eye rolling & wasn't a bit bothered by questions. In fact, she explained how they do things when I asked for the gf menu.
There was a gluten free menu and the staff seemed knowledgeable. Unfortunately I did not eat anything else before and did get sick. I had the chicken sandwich on gluten-free bun with gluten-free fries. My feeling was it was the fries only because they looked identical to my husband and sons but that is just a guess.
They have a GF bun that looks so good I wasn’t sure it was! Did not get sick and my burger was amazing. So many options and listed right on the menu. Very impressed and love that they have bread, finding burgers and sandwiches are difficult!
My 12 year old daughter received full on gluten at this restaurant not just contamination. The taco salad which was requested "Gluten Free Modified" contained tortilla strips with wheat (they were not supposed to be added to the salad)! She was sick for a full 24 hours. The manager and her staff could have cared less about the incident when it was brought to their attention. Their excuse, it was busy and we didn't call a manager (none were available at the time)!! Please don't eat here. I would hate for anyone to get sick. :-(
The people were very nice, but manager came over to the table and said they had nothing safe for a Celiac. They can't guarantee no cross-contamination. I appreciated their honesty, but had to go somewhere else.
While they have a separate gluten free menu and staff who are fairly knowledgeable about their supposed gluten free options and policies, this place is not celiac friendly. I got the kebabs, which is a very easy to make gluten free option, for lunch here and had horrible stomach pains and problems for most of the rest of the day ( a bad thing to have happen when you’re spending the day in the park. The two star are just because they have the separate gluten free menu.
The staff was knowledgeable on gluten free options and provided a gluten free menu. They have a separate kitchen space to cook gluten free and a separate fryer for the fries & chips. I do wish the gluten free items had a separate plate than the regular food items
Absolutely amazing food and service for a celiac ! I visited here twice during our 10 day stay in Orlando and I couldn’t rave more about it . I told them on arrival I had celiac and was concerned about cross contamination etc - the server was really understanding giving me a gluten free menu & explaining that they take allergies and celiac very seriously there . She said she could have the chef come out & speak to me if I’d like and he can run through the process of how they make it safe. They even have a dedicated fryer for the gluten free chips & separate area in the kitchen . Food was so delicious- well worth a visit whether you are a celiac or not.
Gluten free bun was good. Cheeseburger in paradise on a gluten free bun!
It was draft weekend so they were super busy but, the waitress said they’re very conscious of their GF not being near other food and they have separate friers for their tortilla chips and fries! The nachos were so good! And they have GF buns.
They are not overly careful they served me their chicken sandwich on a regular bun and said it was gluten free. Sent it back and they sent back the same sandwich and just pealed the bun off leaving all gluten bread in the cheese.
Wonderful! The chef came to the table, asked about my sons allergens, and assured us his food would be cooked safely with no contamination (dedicated GF fryer). He never got sick and everything was delicious.
They are no longer in town but a few miles down where the cruise ships dock. You can’t get in unless you have a pass to get back in one of the ships. The Guard had sympathy for me because I had four celiac children and couldn’t find anywhere else to eat he let us in. when we got to Jimmy Buffett we were told there is nothing celiac safe, that they risk of contamination is very high. We ended up leaving very frustrated and sad because we’ve always had good luck with Jimmy Buffett’s.
Very experienced with Gluten Allergy- they have a menu which states the mortification that can be mad. I had a fish sandwich with fries and the gluten free bun. - 3 days later im still excited to have found this gem.
The place never let's me down. Waitress well aware of gluten allergy and the new menu points out GF options with a wheat symbol vs having a separate menu. Had the burger on GF bun with fries. Fries are cooked in separate fryer. The waitress even came back and alerted my wife who got the veggie burger if she was ok with gluten since I ordered a GF entre a she said she was fine with gluten. The veggie burger is apparently not GF for those that may not know. Anyway, great meal, environment and staff. Always love eating here, the one in Orlando is great too!
No gluten free menu. Music was blaring so loud the waiter couldn’t even hear me. We got up and left.
Ate there twice while in San Antonio. This is one the Rive Walk. I was leery since one had reviewed it, but with a dedicated fryer, it was worth a shot. Spoke to the cook, both times, and was assured my food would be gf. They even brought my food out separately! I have the ‘Cheeseburger in Paradise’ without the bun, but it was still delicious. They do have a dedicated fryer, & the fries were yummy! Just be sure to speak with the cook, and note the wheat symbol on the menu for the gf options. ❤️
Had an awesome experience - our servers name was Jared and he was SUPER awesome and even had the chef come out and speak to me. As a celiac with Type 1 I highly recommend - ask for Jared!! He rocks!!!
I was with my family in Vegas and my wife is a Celiac And Type-1 diabetic. We explained this to the server twice when ordering. He said no problem and she had the chicken salad listed as celiac friendly, 2 hours later she was vomiting which dropped her sugar and she ended up in hospital. Not a good scene, we know there is always a risk but really? She could have died but was ok. Thank god for travel insurance since we are Canadian, the hospital bill was $4700.00 for the ambulance and 6 hour hospital stay.
No GF menu. Waitress couldn’t tell me what was GF. So I picked catch of the day (seemed safest) which comes with peas and rice and veggies. I had her go ask about this menu item. She said peas and rice were not GF. No substitutions. Mashed potatoes also not GF. So I said, fine, just bring rice on the side and my husband can have it. Took 1 hour to get our meal (not busy) and my fish came on top of the bed of rice she said was not GF. This place is very unsafe and does not care about allergies. Horrible service too. 40 minutes to bring our kids drinks. Gratuity is included, so they just don’t care about getting things right or service. Big problem for people with food allergies.
I asked the waitress if they had a gluten free menu and she replied they could make almost anything gluten free, but did not go into more detail. The service was very slow and food was mediocre. It did not make my son sick, however we will not go back.
I have celiac disease and I loved the service here, the best I’ve ever had. The chef himself came out to my table and wrote my order down on a designated allergy sheet and made sure he knew what allergy I had and how to properly cook my order, I had a fantastic experience.
I ordered nachos because of a review I read here even though it was not marked as Gluten Free. They prepared it with shredded cheese instead of queso, it was delicious and I didn’t got sick.
There weren’t a lot of options, however the waitress was very knowledgeable and patient with my questions. We got the gf versions of the nachos and cheeseburger. Both were very very good. I had angry orchard to drink while the others in my party had regular beer.
Our waitress was very knowledgeable. They only have two entrees listed as gluten free on the menu but they have gluten free buns and a dedicated fryer for the fries. The chef modified the taco salad for me and the waitress said they can modify most dishes.
Great service here and I felt safe. They have an entire gluten free menu. I enjoyed the steak dinner and a margarita. My server double checked with the bartender about what my safe options were. He was friendly and patient with my questions even though it was very busy.
Staff is knowledgeable and cares. Just be specific about cross contamination being an issue as some of the gf items on the menu are cross contaminated.
Had the GF grouper sandwich and fries. Chef came to the table to verify the options. UDI’s bun fell apart, but otherwise was a very tasty meal. Service was excellent and wait staff demonstrated an understanding of the seriousness of food allergies. Definitely recommend.
Ate here a couple times on our week long trip. We stayed at Flamingo so it was very convenient. Nachos were fantastic and my fiance and I shared a burger on gluten free bun. Bun stayed together and was not dry. Very tasty!
