If you tell them you have Celiac Disease they automatically change their gloves. They do have a lot of bread so it is obviously not safe.

Jimmy John's does not have gluten free bread for sandwiches, but you can order a sandwich wrapped in lettuce called an "unwich"
Most (maybe all?) of their unwhiches (lettuce wraps) are gluten free and very good! There is, of course, some risk of cross contamination, but having eaten there several times, I have never had a problem.
Everything is safe except for cheese, bread, barbecue chips, vinegar and salt chips, and maybe the ranch because they make it in house? I won't eat it. The meat is fine the vegetables are fine mayonnaise mustard vinegar oil oregano all of that I've tested with my name a sensor several times after unwitch is delivered and it's perfect. I really like the potato chips too!
There are so many others that do have celiacs that cannot have gluten and it would be great if Jimmy John's would have gluten free options. It's really common. Something to think about. I love the sandwiches!
I called ahead to tell about Celiac needs and the girl who I talked to on the phone personally made my sandwich (she was working the register at the time)! She got out a GF cutting board for prep, and got all the ingredients for my sandwich out of the back so that there would be no cross-contamination... even including the sandwich wrapper paper!
Their nutritional information is readily available on their website to let patrons know which foods contain which top allergens!
Always delicious, eaten here many times and have never gotten sick!!

Staff was very knowledgeable and assured me that precautions would be taken to prevent cross-contamination. No GF buns but they lettuce wrap it very well and it tastes very good. They were very busy but managed to keep my meal safe!
Jimmy Johns has an allergen menu on their website detailing each sandwich component. I opted for a sandwhich on the “Unwich” aka lettuce wrap instead of bread. It wasn’t nearly as filling of course but it was delicious and good for a quick meal in a pinch!
Told the person taking my order that I have a gluten allergy and he immediately said he would notify the person making my unwich and assured me that they would change gloves and utensils. Couldn’t have appreciated their attention and care more - especially after Jersey Mike’s across the street said they cannot confirm whether there is gluten in their deli meat.
Their lettuce wraps are made in the same spot that the normal sandwiches are made. It's all cross contaminated.
They have an unwhich. Which is a lettuce wrap. They’re always super tasty. However I believe non of their cheeses are GF. So I always just get whatever with no cheese. They lay down paper for each sandwich. And each topping is in deprecate containers so cross contamination is minimal if any.
Edit: personally too worried about cross contamination to eat at Jimmy Johns anymore
Fantastic. The unwhich is a lettuce wrap of whatever you want. I love the Hunter's, which is roast beef and cheese.
They are well trained for allergies at this location. They put on new gloves. They put down fresh paper and make the unwhich on the paper. They give mayonnaise packets instead of using the shared spatula. There is always the possibility of cross contamination, but I have never gotten sick here unlike other sandwich places. Beware the tuna salad, it has Gluten but not from the mayonnaise, lol.
Jimmy John's has become our go to for bringing home a quick meal.
I've gotten sick here in spite of being clear about having severe celiac disease. They dip into the same mayo and mustard that has been glutened by their bread & rolls , etc when making your supposed GF lettuce wrap. Not Celiac safe. Also, the owner slaughters endangered animals in Africa. Google it.
This was a nice stop for lunch. I had one of their unwiches (lettuce wrap) and it was quite tasty. The manager understood gluten-free issues and he directed the food preparers to wash their hands, change their gloves, wash the preparation area, AND put a piece of fresh paper down on the prep line before fixing my sandwich!
The Unwich (lettuce wrap) is the only gluten free item on the menu (also chips and pickle and fillings). I got a BLT on lettuce wrap. It was good, I felt a little weird after it, but it was also my first time eating fast food so that may be it. I have a very serious reaction to gluten so I think it is pretty safe because I didn’t have serious/that many side effects.
You can get an unwich (lettuce wrap) and when you order tell them you are celiac and need gluten free, they will wash their hands and change their gloves. I eat here all the time and am celiac with no issues.
Multiple staff members had obvious negative non verbal reactions when I asked about ingredients. They could not find anything listing allergens, ingredients, or nutrition. No accommodation or apologetic tone.
Staff were happy to change their gloves to make my unwich (lettuce wrap), and even spoke up to include mayo packets instead of cross contaminating with their spatula/jar of mayo. For you celiacs who are in a jam, and need something quick, do your research beforehand (see link below), and advocate for yourself when you order!

Went for a lettuce wrap. Explained that I had Celiac and asked if they would mind changing gloves. They told me that they would not. Also said they would not make my wrap over fresh paper. Said they were specifically instructed NOT TO for people with gluten issues. I emailed the manager, and sure enough, that is their policy. If you tell them you have a gluten allergy/Celiac, they will NOT make any accommodations. No clean gloves, no fresh paper. I don't understand it, but obviously will not be back.
They have the Unwich option instead of bread, which is of course low-carb, so I load up on veggies, avocado, and more meat. Make sure they change gloves; sandwich maker didn't hear the cashier repeat that back to me, but my husband requested, and they prepared it in a different area. No reaction, but I'm not Celiac.
I normally get the tuna and it is fine for a quick meal.
They have lettuce wraps and are very careful with cc. They change their gloves and prepare at separate station. Make sure you ask for mayo packets instead of them using the common container.
