Very happy and confident with Joe’s. My daughter is celiac. They assured me they used a different fryer for fries. Also notified the line it was an allergy and they changed gloves. Love having this as a safe option in KC.
I ordered take out over the phone. The person on the phone was super friendly and told me they would put our fries in a separate GF fryer and the kitchen staff would switch out their gloves. I got the zman with no onion rings and on a GF bun. As always Joe's is amazing and they were so nice too!
Staff at the counter was very knowledgeable and had a laminated list of all allergens on the menu. Dedicated fryer so GF fries!!! All sauces are GF and so is the fry seasoning. GF bun available. I ordered the famous Z-man sandwich minus the onion ring on a GF bun and it was delicious! Had a side of fries and the spicy slaw. It’s been over 4 hours and no symptoms so I’m thrilled. (I am celiac with lots of FODMAP sensitivities but thankfully not garlic or onion).
Checked the allergy menu online before heading here. Felt good based on that and the reviews here on the app. Got the brisket with a gf bun. Told the person taking orders I'm gf and she said, no problem they'll change gloves for you, and yelled back to the kitchen as she keyed in my order. Could definitely tell it was a gf bun compared to my friend who had a regular bun. Mine was bigger but definitely a bit crumbly as I ate, but I didn't mind since the meat was so delicious. It's so fast paced in there so I was a little surprised that I didn't get sick, or the wrong bun or something. Would definitely go here again and try some fries next time too.
They change gloves and have a dedicated space for fries. The bun in pretty decent and soft but kind of thick. They call out allergy down the line and everyone knows the protocol of clean, change gloves and don’t add bread. Felt pretty confident here and my stomach is fine after!
No one could tell me for sure what (if anything) was gluten free and everything was pre-seasoned I am sensitive to nightshades and I understand they want to protect their recipes but they wouldn't tell me anything and I was left with iced tea for dinner, watching everyone else eat.
