I was definitely skeptical that a place called Jonny Cakes could actually cook gf. The waitress told us they had gf bread and she would circle my order on the menu and cook staff would make sure everything was separate. She asked a few smart questions to make sure she understood and told me that they make a specific effort to cook for allergies. I had gf French toast and wow it was really good! I need to find out where they get their gf bread because it was so good I got skeptical again. Right before our food came out, someone swung by our table to ask "is powdered sugar and whipped cream ok?" yes of course, but I was really impressed that they made that extra effort. The waitress came by to ask again if everything was ok, and I asked, this is the gf bread, right? And she said she had double triple checked to make sure. So I would say.. It's diner food, but it's actually better than cheap diner food, and as far as I could tell they did a really good job keeping things gf for me. I also appreciated that she wasn't weirded out by us praying before we ate.
