VERY limited options for gluten free and takes a lot of negotiation. Also on the pricier side of things
I have eaten at Jun’s for years. Sushi at both locations and at the gluten free table at the new location many times. Unfortunately this month I dined at the gluten free grill table and informed the chef and all servers I had an allergy to gluten. I let them know I would skip any dishes they were not certain were gluten free. I had a bad reaction. I did not eat sushi, just the steak and chicken.
I’ve always felt safe eating here and I enjoy the sushi. Unfortunately, last week I got contaminated heavily. The server didn’t seem very interested in helping me stay safe and hopefully I’m wrong but I suspect she may have given me regular soy sauce on purpose (she asked if I could “taste” that it had wheat in it). This is the only bad experience I’ve had at either Jun location but 8 days later I am still in a lot of pain and wondering if I’ll ever feel safe to go back.
Great sushi, gluten free steak tables, friendly Sushi Chef/Owner!! Highly recommend!!
Excellent food at reasonable prices. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. My wife is super-sensitive to gluten and had no problems.
Jun is very accommodating to our special needs. He even came out and let us know for next time that the Hibatchi/Bento can be made gluten free as well. It warranted a second meal on our vacation to the Springs. Definitely recommend!
Really good sushi. Has a pretty large GF menu and is pretty knowledgable about contamination. They have tamari sauce as substitute for soy sauce. Jun's is my favorite sushi place in town... Gluten free or not.
