Review of Kelly's Bake Shoppe

If I can rate the food alone, I’d give them 5 stars—the best gluten free, vegan desserts I’ve ever tasted. Unfortunately, I’ll be boycotting this business because the owners stand by their donation to the “Freedom Convoy”.

I don’t support doxing and no one should be threatening the business owners or harassing the employees. But since it has been revealed that one of the owners donated $1000 to the cause, the owners has continued to voice their support for the protest through their business Instagram account. In their Instagram stories, Kelly’s Bake Shoppe has reblogged posts that have comments such as “thank you for standing for freedom”, “right side of history”, and “#staystrong”.

It has come out that there are alt-right personalities and white supremacists that are leading, funding and participating in the Freedom Convoy—complete with swastikas and (American) confederate flags. The truckers’ protest message has been lost and anyone who stands with the protest is standing with these bigots by giving them voice and power.

As a BIPOC, I don’t feel safe shopping there or comfortable knowing that money made at this business is being used to support such dangerous people.
