Don’t forget to check out their dessert menu! The fried dough with nutella is absolutely amazing.
I’ve heard about Kesté pizzeria in lower Manhattan from this community and I was NOT disappointed! When the waiter set my Burrata Roberto pizza in front of me, he said, “Gluten free,” so there would be no doubt. Since I am asymptomatic celiac, I cannot attest to the safety protocol, but they have a separate gf kitchen! So many great options, including desserts. Delicious!
The BEST gluten free pizza I've ever had. I took one of my best friends who grew up in New York and whose family is Italian (so you can trust the man knows good pizza). He's not celiac, but chose to order gluten free as well, just for the hell of it. He said it was the best pizza he's ever had.
I will caveat this by saying, the leftover slice I took with me for the road did not hold up well. It was cardboard by Day 2. Granted, I was eating it cold, because I was literally on the road and had nowhere to heat it properly. It may be okay if you pop it in an actual over or air fryer. But it was definitely best on Day 1, so eat up!
I also tried the Arrancini which was also *phenomenal*. I'd definitely get them again. And I had the Mule to drink and it was fantastic too. All around a great place to eat.
I'm always a little hesitant with non-dedicated Italian restaurants, because I'm super sensitive and I know from working in kitchens myself that flour gets EVERYWHERE and there's just no stopping it, but they had good reviews on here and it sounded like their practices were good, so I chanced it and I didn't get sick.
Great experience, great pizza. Can make any of their pizzas gluten free and the staff was wonderful with explaining the accommodations. When the food game, the server immediately noted that it was GF and reassured me that it was made in a separate area so as to avoid any cross contamination. Worth the hype.
I ordered online for delivery and the pizza showed up on time, was still warm, and it was an easy experience. The GF pizza was delicious, a bit underbaked, but like other people mentioned it was hard to tell it was GF. Everyone enjoyed their regular pizza and calzones too.
i’ve been here pre-diagnosis and can say the gluten free pizza is just as good as the regular one. everything was delicious and i’m always a little scared eating fried foods, but they have a separate kitchen area dedicated to gluten free. love this place 10/10 recommend!
A little hit or miss with the pizza crust but the last couple times have been good! A bit thicker margherita pizza but delicious
This was my second time eating here. I remembered that the first time they brought my GF pizza out together with the regular pizzas for the other people in our party, but I didn’t think they had touched. This time, when I ordered, I explained that I was celiac and asked them to have a separate runner bring out the GF pizza. Unfortunately, the runner brought out all of the food at the same time, and I saw his gloves touch the edges of the regular pizza and then mine. I asked them to remake it, which they quickly did. I have not had a reaction but it was disappointing to see a place with a separate pizza oven and prep area for GF not following through on the rest of the necessary precautions. Not sure if I will go back.
I am so sad to say I had a very concerning experience here. Ordered a gf pizza and gf potato croquettes from uber eats and there were literally multiple gluten macaroni noodles inside of one of the potato croquettes. I called the restaurant and sent them pictures of the noodle in the croquette and they gave me a refund but didn’t explain how that could have happened. It doesn’t seem like they have any sort of macaroni on the menu though I could be mistaken so I really don’t get it. Like was one of the workers eating and macaroni fell in? I won’t be ordering from here again
I have celiac. Just think the pizza has very poor flavor. Do not make a special trip. Truly not good. Been here twice hoping for better. Too bad. It looks good. Thin slices of fresh mozzarella and some fresh whole Basil leaves. Makes a good picture. The roast pork is cheap low quality ham! Also, for me personally, the deglutenized wheat starch makes me feel bloated and a little bit unwell without being completely symptomatic. IMHO, try Uva Next Door for the real deal. Wish I could recommend this place but there’s much better tasting pizza at several other places in Manhattan.
I got glutened here. I’m not sure what went wrong as so many of the reviews are positive. Maybe the balsamic dressing on the arugula salad is not gluten free? I confirmed celiac with the server. He brought out what he said was a gf foccacia and also said that pizza was gf when he brought it out. The food was delicious, but I was sick within an hour of eating it.
All I can say is WOW!!!! This place was incredible! The gf pizza was the best I have ever had. I’m crying that I can’t go back. And I had a Nutella dessert that was so delicious. My very picky family of gluten eaters loved the paninis and pizzas, with kids saying they were the best they’d ever had. I cannot wait to come back to NYC to go here again. Definitely worth going out of your way for.
Best gluten free pizza you will ever have , almost thought it wasn’t and they were tricking me (don’t ask for Parmesan cheese though they don’t like that 😂)
Find me GF needs to add a 6th star for this place. The gluten free pizza is the best I’ve had and it’s not close (that includes in Italy).
AMAZING pizza. They make them in a separate oven. We had a Margherita and white pizza and both were absolutely perfect. My daughter (who has never had non-GF pizza in her life) said it was the best pizza she has ever had. For me, it reminded me of what non-GF pizza tasted like. Service was super fast as well. Can’t wait to go back next time we are in NYC!
