This was a dream come true. Finally a pizza that satisfied my pizza craving! The pizza uses GF wheat starch, which I was nervous about, but after some research felt comfortable eating it since they have a celiac seal of approval. They prepare the GF pizzas separately, but they do use the same oven. However they assured me they use a different tray to put it in, and that GF pizzas are baked in a separate area of the big oven. They also have a separate fryer for GF Foods. The pizza was so good that I needed my non GF friend to compare the crust to hers to reassure me mine really was GF! Definitely pricey, but that’s just the way it is with GF food...
I love going to Keste on Bleecker Street so I was really excited to eat at the Williamsburg location. But I was disappointed to learn that while they prepare the pizza in a separate cooking area, they do not have a dedicated oven. So, I have to pass on Keste Williamsburg.
Their gluten free pizza is made with gluten free wheat starch, so I couldn't eat there as I'm wheat intolerant, but good they have this listed.
We have to be careful due to celiac, and this was absolutely fantastic! The gluten free pizza was delicious, and the fried dough with nutella was incredible. Can't recommend this place enough.
Top notch pizza! Neapolitan style soft and thin crust pizzas cooked fast in an 800 degree oven. There's a whole page dedicated to GF pizzas and it seems anything they can do with the regular Croat can also be done GF, even pizza dough based desserts. This place is the real deal. I didn't try the regular crust but I'd venture there's little difference - maybe a little less of that flakey crisp but it's great pizza nonetheless. Pizza like this and Prova pizza prove that there need not be any discrimination against the GF option. Also, GF pizzas are prepared in separate oven which is fantastic.
