Love this place! The GF pancakes are amazing, I've never gotten sick eating them, add blueberries to make them even better. The atmosphere is one of the loveliest in the area, cozy and friendly and fun (watched the cooks dance as the made food!). The GF toast is no so great, it's thin and grainy (it's Udi's, so meh) and also doesn't have a dedicated toaster. I've gotten contaminated from it. Never had an issue with the pancakes, I just wish they had GF Buckwheat pancakes. Their buckwheat were the best.
They have gluten-free toast on the menu but the waitress told me that it goes in the same toaster as normal bread and they have no other options except having it untoasted. They also have a shared griddle that they do not clean for gluten-free customers.
That being said, I had a delicious steak & cheese sandwich. So just be aware that their advertised gluten-free items may not actually be celiac safe, make sure to ask your waitress.
Went here for lunch and it was great! keys had a lot of options for me being dairy and gluten free. But be careful as they do share the same kitchen space.
Literally the best gluten free pancakes I have ever had. And they are bigger than your head. I would suggest sharing. So good and I didn't get sick
The restaurant had many awards displayed and had a fun atmosphere. The kids menu was also fun. Unfortunately, it was not a celiac or allergy safe restaurant.
I have celiac, but often say I have a wheat allergy because so many people are unfamiliar with what celiac is.
When I told our server that I had a wheat allergy and asked if she could make a note so the kitchen could be careful not to cross contaminate, she gave me a funny look but said ok. Just to be sure, I asked the person that brought our food out if they use separate toasters for gluten and non-gluten items- they do not. They only have a shared toaster. The lady that brought our food asked if I wanted her to take the toast back and remove it from our bill. I said I would appreciate it since I couldn’t eat it. Our waitress came by and asked if I wanted a different kind of bread and I again explained that I have a wheat allergy and can’t have regular bread or anything with wheat. She then asked if I wanted a biscuit (made with wheat) instead since they aren’t toasted. She clearly didn’t understand what a food allergy was.
I did eat the rest of my meal (eggs and hashbrowns and bacon) because I was traveling and hadn’t eaten for a while, but a few hours have passed and I’m super sick now.
The food itself was eh. It wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either. My husband got chicken fried steak and my BIL got biscuits and gravy and those meals both looked really good. If you don’t have allergies, it might be an ok place to eat but I definitely wouldn’t recommend if you have celiac or allergies.
