For years this has actually been my main GF restaurant in Brooklyn Heights. The drinks are tasty. The curries are delicious.
I’ve gotten sick here once before, which is a shame and I’m not sure which dish did it. I must have eaten here about 20 times and not had issues before.
My recommendation is to not only confirm the symbol but tell the server you’re GF, but this is my advice at all NYC sit-down restaurants. Unlike others, they don’t try to tack a “service fee” on you for having allergies.
New York sucks at food safety in general. Virtually no restaurants are “safe” at the level of entirely gluten free kitchens.
This restaurant just opened or rebranded from the Thai place that was here before. I was excited to see the menu with gf labels but I’ve eaten here twice - both times I got the chicken pad thai and got sick afterwards. Although the pad thai is labeled gf and staff told me the chicken has no marinade, my symptoms mirrored when I eat gluten. I won’t be coming back here any time soon sadly.
