Excellent food and accommodation for GF meals! My husband (celiac) and I both had the daily catch which was Ono. The fish was delicious and moist and the cauliflower veg mixture was amazing. The chef pan fried the potatoes instead of putting them in the fryer. to avoid cross contamination. They were awesome and crisp on the outside. We also ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer which is served with balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese. Chef also pan fried those! I am a brussel sprout snob and those were the best I have ever had! NOT kidding. It was a wonderful experience made even better by our waiter Rikko and the entire staff! Also the bartender makes a very generous and delicious martini! The food portions are also generous which meant we did not have room for dessert!
Just had the most excellent dinner here with 4 adults and a 2 year old. We all enjoyed our meals, but the highlight was the mushroom risotto with shrimp - it may have been the best risotto I've had. They noted I was gluten free and I felt very safe eating here - no reaction from me, which means I am happily non-glutened. My 2 year old enjoyed the shrimp so much that we ordered another side and they also brought out extra asparagus when they noticed my daughter had stolen almost all of my husband's. They brought me a taste of the volcano wine, and the rose I ordered when I deemed the volcano wine too sweet was excellent. Adam was a great server, and we overall really enjoyed the meal. The incredibly well curated gift shop was icing on the cake!
No gluten free menu but hostess was very knowledgeable on what was and was not. They were out of gluten free buns while we were there so options were limited to salads only. It was very good and cocktails were excellent best we’ve had on the island.
Excellent GF bread. Not marked on menu but the do have it. I'm GF preference so not as strict. I had the lamb burger and my wife had the ham and turkey sandwich. both were very good. Very friendly staff.
Very expensive and little GF options. They have GF pasta. The waitress also offered the expensive Ahi tuna. All around, this was disappointing and not worth the prices. I ended up getting the eggplant pasta, even though I don't like eggplant. There just weren't that many other choices.
For a restaurant with a gluten-free chef and owner, this was a huge disappointment. While everyone was knowledgeable, none of the dishes were actually gluten free. They offered to make anything on the menu without sauce or seasoning, that is how they accommodate. Every single sauce had either soy sauce or chicken stock (which they told me they add flour to). Why a gluten-free chef cannot create a sauce or relish that is safe is beyond me. And they are not cheap, charging around $30 per entree. For that price, I expect more than a piece of plain grilled salmon and a side of rice and unseasoned veggies. Go to The Rim instead.
Owner is gluten free. Waitress immediately asked the chef what he could do to make gluten free menu options. Had substitutes such as quinoa available. The majority of the entree could be made gf, however gf isn't indicated on the menu, but still very accommodating. Great service, constantly refilling water. Food was exceptional. The only downfall would be high prices. I believe worth the cost.
