The menu had clear labels on dishes that were Gluten Free. They have a second fryer that allows them to cook GF French Fries when ordered as such. No GF bun available, but was able to do burgers and sandwiches with ice berg lettuce. The staff was very knowledgeable about food allergies and were very helpful. Like any kitchen that is not dedicated GF, there is always a chance for cross contamination, which is a disclaimer they provide. We had no issues and enjoyed our lunch.
I ate here for dinner while in town for workshop. They had a moderate selection of gluten-free food clearly labeled on the menu. I am not sure how much I trust everything, as the wait staff did not ssem terribly informed about celiac versus gluten intolerance. However, they did convey my Celiac condition to the kitchen. I had a spinach berry salad with a side of baked yam. It was good and I did not get sick. Other members ofy party (not celiac) also ordered GF and the consensus was that the food was good. I would eat here again.
Marked gf menu & dedicated fryer for the fries - literally the only gf fries in Spearfish. While the the gf items are *very limited, it is nice they have some & that they're marked. No buns for the burgers, which for a restaurant attempting an elevated-casual menu & scene, is short sighted. You can even get a gf bun at Culvers!! Burgers, steak, salads & a couple app's. for choices. We used to eat here more. Awhile back the restaurant underwent a partnership shift (and this attempt to elevate the menu & scene, yet remain casual). When that happened, so did shrinkflation. The huge salad I always used to get (still on the menu & very tasty) went from being a very filling meal with a bunch to take home - to finishing it all & still feeling hungry. Literally a 1/3 of the former glorious size just suddenly disappeared, but the price stayed the same. We lost a lot of respect & motivation to eat here at that point. 🤷🏼♀
No gluten issues, but our server did seem to be trying to steer me toward saying if it was too much trouble to use the regular fryer. She was saying the dedicated fryer might not be working but she would check. I emphasized that I have celiac disease and that I didn’t want to get sick. My fries definitely were cooked in a different fryer - they had a different appearance than the others in the group. Overall, okay but nothing mind blowing. Our Brussels sprouts appetizer was swimming in grease and while there were unique options the overall experience was lacking.
My wheat allergic child had a burger and fries here with no reaction. The fries are in a dedicated fryer. There are no gluten free buns but you can get a lettuce wrap. There were quite a few other gluten options on the menu as well. The menu does say that food is prepared in a shared kitchen.
They have a dedicated fryer. The waitress and staff were knowledgeable about what gluten free is and options were clearly listed. My daughter had the steak tips in a Cajun and garlic sauce with French fries. No problem afterwards and she is a very sensitive celiac. Felt safe here.
Dedicated fryer for fries. Burger was huge and juicy with delicious toppings. No GF bun but had a lettuce bun instead. The burger is so big I wouldn’t have been able to eat the bun anyway! Tons of options here plus a couple of ciders on tap. The flourless chocolate cake comes with ice cream and was warm - DIVINE! Will definitely visit again.
My daughter has celiac and it’s a challenge to find safe places to eat. Killian’s had a dedicated fryer for gluten free items, so she was able to have French fries and a hamburger patty on lettuce. The food was not only safe... it was delicious too!!! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Lots of good GF choices. Friendly staff. Dedicated fryer for fries. No GF bread, but they offer a lettuce wrap option for burgers. Food was very good!
Diverse and very creative menu with gf items labeled. If you’re in the area and eat gf you must stop here! On a road trip after days of salad and bunless burgers, this place was a godsend! I wish I could come here all the time! I had the green Chile pork and it was amazing. :)
We ate here and the food was delicious and they were very knowledgeable about gluten free. I had no issues and would eat here again.
