This place was great! They have a laminated allergen list they will show you when you are getting ice cream. They will also help advise on the fudge ingredients. I had lemon sorbet (just because that's what my mood was - lots of traditional ice cream flavors available) and bought sea salt chocolate fudge and peanut butter fudge. Amazing!
The staff was very aware of celiac and what in the store may have wheat or cross contact. They were very accommodating about our request to open a fresh ice cream tub to scoop from to prevent cross contact. They also offered me the ingredient list of all ice creams they have in a binder so I could check the ice cream ingredients. When I inquired about the caramel apples, they astutely pointed out that while the ingredients were fine, they use the same caramel tub to dip the apple their other gluten-containing items like pretzels and there was cross contamination. So we didn’t get the apples (or the fudge). The ice cream was great!
The ice cream is really good and the service is very friendly but not knowledgeable on what is and isn’t gluten free. If you go, know what you’re going to get beforehand because they do not have a gluten free menu or any indication if the item is or isn’t. The cashier said they generally tell people if it doesn’t have cake or cookies in it then it’s probably (emphasis on probably) gluten free. Cross contamination is also a concern because they do not have a designated surface. I did not see any gluten free desserts that were not ice cream, but that can be easily missed because nothing is marked. I had the Georgia Peach ice cream and had no reaction so I think that one is relatively safe.
