We were a party of 3 with 1 strictly GF, 1 GF preferred and one strictly non-GF. All of us got different types of bowls and shared the bowls. All bowls were exceptionally tasty even for the friend who was dragged into this restaurant. His prejudice against GF food completely disappeared after this experience. Kudos for the incredible quality of the food& friendliness of the staff.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve eaten at or ordered from Kitava. The bowls are super good, lots of flavor and a great portion. Everything is gluten free and delicious!

I came quite late, so that may explain why the kitchen was a bit unmotivated and the food only reheated and not really warm. Other than that - good portions, fair pricing (for SF), nice indoor seating and it feels like a healthy choice

This was my go-to when visiting SF. I was recovering from gluten poisoning and afraid of what I could eat while traveling. Also my flight was delayed and I was worried about places closing. Kitava not only was open til 9pm but had simple healthful options (herb chicken, rice, broth). I ordered several more dishes while in SF and everything was so fresh, delicious, and healthy.

Easy fast meal with lots of fresh ingredients and various flavors. Wonderful that it’s 100% gluten free and peanut free also! My very GF sensitive kids had no problem here. Great option!!

I love this place! It’s not only dedicated GF, but also soy and dairy free. It does not scrimp on taste. The chicken nuggets are SO tasty. I even think the bowls are so flavorful that I don’t use sauce. Love to order online and pick up. Delicious!

Excellent healthy but yummy and tasty food, with even chicken nuggets as wells as veggies, bowls… with great quality of products and 100% gluten free. I highly recommend!!

100% GF and a focus on healthy ingredients, so good! We enjoyed everything we ordered. Brussel sprouts, kale salad, sesame chicken, poke bowl. I hadn't had fried chicken since my diagnosis so that was a treat. Very nice staff, too.

i want to say ive changed my mind! Kitava reached out to me and i think it must have been some kind of fluke that i had a bad reaction? ive ordered from here 9 or 10 times and have had almost all very good experiences with the food. i really like the chicken and broccoli bowl with some plantains!

I often forget to leave reviews but I’m currently sitting in the Mission Dolores park eating the plantain bowl and it is delicious! The slaw, the pulled pork and the plantains are all so tasty. I am very happy to have this as a GF option, and will be coming back.

Really delicious bowls and all is GF. It gets a little pricey when adding meat, but the portion sizes are good. Love their sauces too.

100% gluten free, there are better alternatives in the area for Latin American cuisine that are Celiac safe and cheaper (Panchita's, Pica Pica).

Everything was great and the entire menu is gluten and dairy free. The grass fed pesto meatballs were amazing, and the general tso's chicken is made with organic chicken. We also had the plantains and brussel sprouts, both of which were delicious.

Very yummy food. The Brussels sprouts are fantastic. This does seem to be a dedicated gluten free facility- everything on the menu is gluten free. Forget using the curbside pick-up, it's a no-stopping turn lane in a very busy SF intersection; park and go in for the pick-up or have someone else in your car who can retrieve your order.

The food was delicious and prepared quickly. The brownie is very dense but really yummy, and the chocolate chia pudding is great too. Ordering is all on your phone even for dining in, which does make things a bit harder but there’s a spot for comments on your order. They played Happy Birthday on the speakers for me for my birthday and the service was overall great. For visitors to the area, just an FYI that this neighborhood is statistically a higher crime area, particularly for car break-ins. There are many unhoused people on the streets too. It doesn’t feel unsafe though, we went for dinner and felt totally safe. The restaurant is totally worth the trip, just a heads up in case you’re visiting in a fancy car.

I have some recently dietary restrictions and this place was FANTASTIC!! I could order right off the menu and not worry about what stuff I could or could not eat. Since I have been starving for real food lately, I ordered enough food for 4 people just for myself, obviously I had leftovers and they reheated pretty well too. I wish this place was closer to home so I could have more days eating out without having to prepare my own food everyday. For those of you on a restrictive diet and live in SF, this is the place to go!!! Service was very friendly, helpful, and patient as I was learning the menu. AIP FRIENDLY!!!!
