I love kitchen door’s Pad Thai- but I recommend getting it in person because when ordered for take out the noodles absorb the sauce. This is the only thing on the menu I think is 100% safe for gluten free. They say they have a dedicated gf frier but I got glutened and then sick from their wings. I also ordered a caeser salad to go and stressed no croutons and make sure no cc because I’m celiac-was dividing up the salad to serve and found a hidden crouton in the mix! So just buyer beware here…
Had a nice experience, both of us had pad thai which is marked GF. We both loved the flavors. Had a side of fries and chips/dip because they have a dedicated fryer! GF apple crisp was tasty too. They don't have a ton of GF options, but some. Would return since my celiac husband did not get sick!
As a local, this is one of my go-to spots. They have always taken my wheat allergy seriously and because of that, I feel 100% safe eating here. They have quite a few gf options, plus a dedicated fryer. Burger w/o bun and fries is a go-to, so are the buffalo chicken wings. As of right now, nothing in the restaurant that is fried has gluten! So the fryers are safe. But I know the’ll mention if that ever changes. I always tell them about my allergy and if anyone is ever unsure about a food item, they always double check. This place has my absolute trust!
This is the second time I’ve been here. I ordered the Pad Thai (it was marked gf on their menu) and the waitress double checked with the kitchen to make sure it was. Food was delicious and their fries are SO good and made in a separate frier! The menu is clearly labeled with multiple gf choices.
LOVE Kitchen Door. First time in Napa in 2022, we had no issues. This year, 2023, we ordered take out on a Friday - I went in personally, explained that I was celiac to the hostess, verified they had a separate fryer. The tofu in the pad thai is fried and - obviously - the fries are as well. I started feeling ill the next day and was trying to pinpoint what it could be and this place was my last thought - BUT. My husband went back on a Sunday night and again asked about the fryer - the manager came out this time and said they'd had a big "beer event" the past Wednesday that they'd used BOTH of the fryers for and the oil just got changed out today. So - word to the wise - they have 2 fryers - but if they are busy/ have an event, they can and will use both for gluten-containing items. I should have asked for a manager the first visit. Ask, and then make sure you know when the oil was last changed. It's worth a visit if it's fresh.
The best owners and take every precaution to keep me safe! I go here about once a week. My go to meal is the chicken caesar salad with french fries and sometimes chicken wings! Dedicated fryer for fries and also offer sweet potato fries too. Love this place and always recommend it.
Ask for their GF menu. Many things are highlighted that can be made GF, but mostly by omitting buns and flatbread, etc. Good food but you pay the same price for less. It is really unfortunate that they can’t even at least offer gluten-free bread or buns or crust or something. For a restaurant like this at Oxbow I think that is pretty negligible. Can’t speak to wether or not it is Celiac friendly.
I super do not recommend this place. I was given an outdated menu highlighted with very few options that were my choices, nearly all with the requirement to withhold a part of the dish (which just leads to mistakes and feeling like the meal is missing something). There is a 100% gluten free place right across the hall, C Casa, go there instead.
The staff can confidently answer questions about what is gf. The kitchen was able to tweak a dish so that I could have it. Excellent food and comfortable atmosphere.
Our waiter was amazing!!! My meal was spectacular and he didn't mind me thinking outside the box.
What a great place....great choice of gluten free options all stated on a separate gluten free menu (upon request) Staff well educated, separate fryer so can eat French fries or sweet potato fries. Can only recommend as it is outstanding. My husband (who is not gluten free) had the gluten free chicken wings which were outstanding followed by the best food he has ever eaten pork belly burger (sorry fellow coeliacs cannot be Made gluten free but is a great option for accompanying guests)
