I have celiac, I’ve been here twice and it’s truly waiter dependent. The first time I went, the waiter seemed knowledgeable and pointed out items on the menu that were safe to eat. The second time, the waiter was very dismissive and did not seem knowledgeable at ALL. We ordered the chocolate ice cream for desert and he ensured us that it was just ice cream and nuts on top. After one bite, I realized there were brownie chunks in the ice cream. Be careful when eating here!

While they didn’t have a dedicated gluten- free menu, the waitstaff was very good with pointing out the dishes that were safe for me to eat. The rest of my party enjoyed some of their more popular dishes. This restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, and excellent, authentic Puerta Rican food. Will definitely go back.

I wrote to the restaurant before making a reservation to make sure they could accommodate me. I have celiac's disease and my reactions are incredibly strong, I want to avoid them at all costs. When we arrived, we were showed to our table, which wasn't clean (and I could see crumbles on it). Instead of washing it, they changed our table for the one right next to it. I repeated my food restriction to our waitress which seemed very knowledgable and comfortable with it.

When she showed us the menu and started explaining it, my comfort level went from 90 to 10%. I know it can be an oversight, but she recommended a dish that had beer in it and when I asked if it was gluten free beer, she said she didn't think so...

The restaurant is enormous, the service level is close to what we encounter in a fast food, and not particular attention seems to be given before you express your concern for a third time. That third time was when the fried plantain were brought to our table with soup, as for every other customer, but the frier isn't dedicated to gluten-free food. When I asked the waitress, she asked the manager to come and see me because it seemed more complicated then she expected. When the manager came, he told me to avoid the plantain and brought me something to replace it: fried cheese (same frier). That's when the 10% comfort level I had went to 1%.

I ended up taking the king prawns, which were extremely undercooked, but I still ate the portion of the tail that was ok and left the rest. Nothing friendly about that restaurant, nothing personal, nothing else than a feeding factory that doesn't care about the customers, as long as they pay. And paying, you'll do. It's one of the most expensive places we've been to in PR and by far the least interesting one.

The waiter was knowledgeable and double checked what I could eat. I had the cod salad appetizer (served on tostones). I could not eat the cod fritters because they had gluten, but he brought me a little bowl of potato soup to eat with my cod salad and tostones. Then I had the fried pork with onions (tasty!) that came with rice and beans and I ordered a side of mofongo. And I had the el conflicto cocktail which was a yummy piña colada-like drink. Delicious, I did not get sick, and I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Definitely talk to the waiter and explain what foods you can and cannot eat. No gf menu.

The food was great! Quite a few gluten free options. I had the cod arepas appetizer and the shrimp avocado with rice and beans. The tostones were great as well!

After some miscommunication about the appetizers, my waiter went back and asked the chef what main courses could be made gluten free. I had the casita salad with chicken, rice, and beans. The cocktails were great too! No reaction - a delicious meal in a beautiful space!

The food is delicious, they don’t have a gluten free menu per say but my waitress was extremely knowledge with all of the ingredients and told me exactly what I could have. I had the house salad and the guava ribs. All sauces are made in house and the staff are very educated on what is in every dish. I have severe celiac disease and had no issues after eating here. I highly recommend.

Amazing food, cocktails and service! The server was extremely knowledgeable about celiac and my meal was incredible (stuffed avocado with shrimp). I’ll definitely be visiting again before I leave San Juan! It was expensive, yes, but totally worth it!

They have a good knowledge of gluten-free and provided good service. However... the food was simply not that good. Pretty pricey especially for that area. Nice atmosphere and presentation. We only enjoyed 1 dish out of the 3 appetizers and 1 entree we had.

Delicious food and safe. The server knew which things were fried in unsafe fryers and they were willing to cook up some fresh tostones for me in a separate pan. Wonderful!!!! I am super sensitive to cc and did not get sick.

The service is amazing. The atmosphere is charming. And the food is SO DELICIOUS. Our server was super knowledgeable about the menu and what I could and couldn't eat. We had grilled shrimp with creole sauce, yellow rice and red beans, pork fritters (yep they were gluten free too) and Nutella flan. I'd go back again right now if I weren't so full!

Best gluten free meal I've had hands down. Was struggling to find a gf friendly restaurant in San Juan and stumbled upon this jewel. Rated highly on Yelp for great food, they are also very knowledgeable about gf. (The female server and the hostess) Many appetizers and entrees are naturally gf the server asked the kitchen to take special care of top of it. We were able to safely have authentic delicious Puerto Rican food such as plantain soup, almojabanas in Guava cream, mahi stuffed avacados with beans and rice and the traditional cassava mofongo with seafood. So thrilled!
