Although the staff wasn’t the most friendly, I will say I felt safe at this restaurant. This was probably some of the best gluten free pasta I’ve ever had. I highly recommend if you’re in the North End!

Modern Pastry is really close by and has delicious GF cannoli (no CC risk if getting the traditional version with no add-ons), which hold up well even a day later. It’s the perfect treat after such an amazing meal.
The portions are MASSIVE. (And I can put away a serious amount of food.) Consider one entree and one appetizer for two people to share. (This also meets their minimum purchase requirement of one entree or appetizer per person.)
I didn’t think it was humanly possible to love a restaurant this much. The service was so-so, but the food? Uh-maze-ing!!!
I had the GF rigatoni with the pesto alfredo and I added grilled chicken, along with the garlic cheese “bread” (it’s a pizza, as another reviewer mentioned). I wish I had two stomachs to have been able to finish it all. The pasta, in particular, was exceptional.
My partner isn’t GF and had their regular pizza. He said it’s some of the best he’s ever had. (Which is saying something…)

If you are going to the north end this is the spot! Sooo many options I actually had a had time choosing something (which how often is that the case?!). Server was kind and knowledgeable, made suggestions and even made me a mocktail (prego here)! They have gluten free bread but it’s not complimentary. I was hungry so I decided to get the “garlic cheesy bread” bread…well I wasn’t expecting it to be an actually gf pizza basically but omg it was so good and very shareable. My husband actually choose to eat it instead of the table bread he was served. For an entree I was boring and got cheese ravioli with a pink sauce. You can tell it’s homemade pasta and cheese. Very delish! I was shocked at the amount of different gf pasta types they made. Will absolutely be back. Side note hubby loved his chicken parm (non-gf) too!

Appreciated the multiple types of gluten free pasta! It was a fun experience and the meals were good. Glad that our GF meals were tagged with flags. Unfortunately they were short staffed (very apologetic) and waited a really long time after we were seated to order—it was a little tough with two kids to be there. Ended up being just under a two hour meal.

Many GF options. Noted on menu and staff were knowledgeable. My dish came out with a stake in it that said ‘Gluten Free’. I noticed also that the check was marked up with lots of asterisks to highlight that there was a food ‘allergy’ This is comfort food. Portions are enormous.

I'd give this 10 stars if I could! I have to be gluten and dairy free and my husband is dairy free. We haven't had good Italian food in a long time! The staff took great care of us, they even got us gf dipping bread (pizza crust) with garlic and oil to dip in. I had chicken over homemade gf rotini with a spicy marinara sauce. Sooo good, best gf pasta ever. Huge portions, made 2 meals for me.

LFG has delicious pasta, pizza and dessert options that are gluten free. La Familia also has a version of dipping bread for us, too—it is the pizza crust with olive oil and garlic & is delicious, too! We got the Bolognese Sauce with gemelli noodles (so tender!) & a loaded pizza with sausage peppers and onions. You can order any pizza toppings with a gluten-free crust. Our service was also excellent!

Absolutely terrific! One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had since been diagnosed with celiac 20 years ago. Charming, fabulous service, and felt safe as can be. Even offered four different types of homemade pastas to substitute for any of their preparation’s, which were numerous and delicious. Even had a lava cake gluten free for dessert. This is celiac heaven!!

Wonderful experience! I don't know that I've ever been to any Italian restaurant with so many GF options, let alone a delicious and authentic North End Italian restaurant. The servers and staff were lovely. My meal was incredible. Did not get gluten symptoms at all afterward. This was a highlight of our trip for sure.

This has to be the BEST GF pasta I have ever had!!! I ordered the dish with the Alfredo vodka sauce. Their bruschetta was amazing with their in house GF flat bread. It is a must try!

I had a great dinner here with my husband. I got the rigatoni with vodka sauce and enjoyed it without issues. They had a large GF selection and seem to take allergen protocol seriously.

Really delicious food. Friendly waiter. However, the portions are GIANT. Like most of the plates could honestly feed a family of three. They also have a policy which stipulates you need one app/entree per person which sort of stops you from sharing one of their giant plates.
However the food is so good however the menu went heavy on carbs with minimal protein options. But it felt very safe. I don't think I ever got a reaction. My stomach did feel a little bad after eating but I think it was too much food since I never diarrhea'd.

I am new to being gluten and dairy free and this place made it so easy! Our server was very willing to answer my questions and made sure to wrap the gluten free items in a separate bag. I only have a sensitivity so I cannot speak to cross-contamination, but my experience was great. Their gluten free pasta tasted even better than normal pasta. So many options to choose from for gluten free and non-gluten free people alike. The pasta came with a stick in it that said “gluten free” which was comforting.

Excellent gluten free pasta, sauces, and chicken cutlet (with gluten free breadcrumbs). The bruschetta and crostini are served on a large pizza crust but are still great. Not traditional Italian food, more Italian American food but it’s done very well

100000/10 it was amazing. I got gluten free pizza and gluten pasta and both were amazing. They had so much variety for the pasta. Almost everything they had on the menu could be made gluten free. I would recommend to everybody that is GF. They also tagged the pasta with a little GF stick. Also the waiter was amazing.

(First, great food. Some of the best Italian I’ve had. But back to the gluten free review):
The pasta and pizza part of the menu is choose the style/sauce and then the noodles. They offer gluten free pasta and pizza crusts options. (Multiple types of noodles)
The GF Bread they offer is pizza crust. It is good, but just know its not a loaf.
Really recommend this place

Our server was very knowledgeable about GF dining, brought out GF bread and separate oil for our son, and there were tons of pizza and pasta options for celiac. The food was flagged as GF as well. They don’t have a separate menu, but said they are working on one. Great food for those of us without celiac as well, and they gave us same day reservations for 8 people on a busy Friday!

WOW! Lots of gluten free choices and pastas! If you are in Boston, stop what you are doing and go here! We did not have a reservation. We walked in about 5pm on Saturday night of a holiday weekend . Table for 2 was ready in 30 minutes. We overheard others happily waiting an hour for a larger party. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was great ! They made their own GF pasta.. I asked about food prep and felt very date and comfortable eating there. No fried stuff but I did NOT feel like I was missing out ! Was set at a good price not overly expensive and. And the portion sizes were huge ! Take home for tomorrow! We will visit again when we are in Boston next time!

I have celiac disease and I am extremely sensitive to any gluten; even cross contamination. I get nervous places will mess up, and if you’re like me I 100% recommend this restaurant. They were super nice and confirmed that have a separate area for gluten free, change gloves, etc… I got gluten free penne Alfredo and gluten free bread, it was amazing. The bread comes out like a pizza, so I am sure the GF pizza is good too. Huge servings too, and not very pricey. 10/10 Recommended.

This was the best Italian food I’ve had since I had to go gluten free. Beyond that it was just fantastic and the food was amazing. They have tons of gluten free options and seem to have set themselves up as a business that specifically caters to gluten free. I had the chicken saltimbocca with their gf homemade pasta. It had the texture of real homemade pasta. So good!! 100% recommend.

There are many selections. It’s very safe. The garlic bread is like a very thin crust pizza and with the olive oil and Parmesan cheese dip it was outstanding. We weren’t that crazy about the fresh pasta it was somewhat gluey. We would have chosen the dry pasta if we went again. The marinara sauce was heavy. They had a gluten free volcano cake. It was good. Definitely make reservations. It gets super busy in the evening.

Came here twice when we were in the area. So first experience was amazing! I had their gluten free pasta and it was cooked PERFECTLY! Sauce was flavorful not salty and tasted fresh. Staff were super nice as well. Second time which was only 2 days later, we came back because I loved the 1st experience and wanted to eat here before we left town. My pasta was way overcooked and my friend’s pasta (not gf) was way undercooked. I did send mine back, but unfortunately it was overcooked again and I just didn’t want to make a big fuss. Maybe it was different kitchen staff or maybe they were having an off day the second time I went. I would still try again next time. Hope this review helps management to keep things more consistent. Staff were nice both times.

The gf pasta was way over cooked and mushy. I went with my parents who got regular pasta and agreed theirs were mushy as well. The pink vodka sauce tasted like macaroni and cheese sauce without any acidity from the marinara. My dad’s meal was sopping with oil and butter pooling at the bottom.

They boast about having over 100 GF options. They offered GF bread, which is pizza crust as others mention. I felt safe eating here, but it was a bit touristy for me. I’d absolutely recommend it to the entire Celiac community though if you’re visiting Boston :)

So thankful for the reviews as this restaurant was wonderful. I enjoyed their gluten free bread (more like a pita) with their specialty olive oil dip (they brought me my own), as well as their pesto Alfredo sauce on their gemelli pasta (tasted homemade). Had an amazing late lunch / dinner. My daughter has celiac and their protocols are safe. She had the pizza and loved it (though she could have had a lot more). They have a sign on their door that they have over 100 gluten free dishes. Paulo our server was great and reassured us they would be very careful with the gluten free pizza. The ambiance is also great. Such a cute Italian restaurant. We will Be back for sure!

This restaurant is a celiac haven in Boston’s historic North End. I have eaten here twice with no issues at all, which is great given my sensitivity. I’m gluten intolerant only so I can’t speak to the safety of the place. But I can say that the fresh gluten free gemelli pasta was incredible. I would not have known it was GF. Service was impeccable and server was super helpful. I mourned my leftovers (staying in a hotel with no microwave, boo).

I went here in September 2022. The food was absolutely incredible!! I felt like the staff really did a good job making me feel safe. They had a garlic bread appetizer that was incredible. Had the most delicious meal at La Famiglia Giorgio. I started with some gf bread (which is really a pizza crust with garlic). The server was good about bringing me a separate dish of oil. Bread was surprisingly good. My entree was chicken parmigiana and tasted as authentic as a gluten filled dish. I got rigatoni as my pasta and it was the best pasta I have had in years. Servers explained how everything was carefully cooked and it was flagged when it came to the table. I can't wait to go back!
