Very knowledgeable staff. They have a gluten free menu but we’re able to modify things from the regular menu as well. Waiter checked on multiple things I had questions about.
Great restaurant, but not for anyone who is celiac. The gluten free menu is a joke, and has mainly drinks on it. Will not be returning as it is so limited, also staff does not seem to know what gluten even is.
Trying this place out tonight - we’ll see how it goes
Nice restaurant but little options and they warn you of cross contamination on the “Gluten Sensitive” menu that nothing is gluten free.
There is a Gluten Free menu which is rather large and includes a dessert option. It is clearly stated at the top of the menu that there is risk of cross contamination, but with that I spoke to the waiter and let them know I have celiac and he seemed well versed on how to handle the food. I ordered the grilled chicken, with mashed potatoes, black beans and a side of chicken tortilla soup. It was all good, although the chicken was rather bland. They do have a bunch of in house sauces they make but I was a little too nervous to give them a try, not sure if they were GF or not. It’s been about 3 hours since I left the restaurant and I haven’t had any issues. Definitely a place I can add to my “safe” list.
Gluten sensitive menu was promising but the hamburger (no bun) I ordered from it came up as gluten found when tested with Nima. My companions enjoyed their meals. Would not recommend for Celiacs.
The GS Sweet & Spicy Wok was amazing and the GS Flat Iron Steak was good. Sides were yummy!
GF menu is extremely limited, restaurant is crowded and loud thanks to the poor design. I didn't get glutened – but the meal was bad. The server didn't seem to understand the importance of cross contamination, so I wouldn't trust eating at the place again. My husband ate my leftovers and said he could have gotten something better at McDonalds.
lovely gluten free menu with knowledgeable wait staff. The sweet and spicy bowl is delightful! they also have kids items on the gluten free menu!
Not a 100% dedicated safe kitchen. Risk is explained on the top of the GF menu. With that said, I was made to feel comfortable kitchen would take extra precautions. No issues.
Amazing!! The gluten free menu has many options. I had the chicken tortilla soup and the Tex Mex salad. Soooo good!
The staff were really nice and tried to be accommodating. They have a gluten free menu however they outright state that they are NOT a gluten free kitchen and there is chance of cross contamination in their kitchen so it’s not celiac safe. My lunch mate said the food is pretty good, though she is not gluten free.
Long story short... I ordered my food off of the gluten free menu, specifically noting that it is not a "preference" and to please note "allergy". The meal I ordered is shown on both menus, and I was not the only one ordering this dish... so I wanted to make it clear. My meal arrived the same as the other, and the server was not aware of one being gluten free. We asked to talk to our waitress.... I was told that it was gluten free and she questioned me on why I didn't trust it. She had 2 other people come out to confirm that it was gluten free... I still didn't trust it due the potato side that is typically made with flour. Finally the GM came over, told me that the dish is gluten free noting that he discussed it with the chef. OK, I feel better. As he turned to walk away, he turned back to me and said "Unless you can't have the flour in the potatoes"... we blew up a little, and he grabbed my plate and stormed off saying "I told him that the flour might be an issue!". He brought my plate back with a different potato option, clarifying that it is definitely gluten free. Our waitress came back a while later to check on us... out of curiosity we asked if she noted the order as gluten free. She said "No, I didn't. The dish is shown on the gluten free menu and the regular menu so it should be gluten free". We let her know that the gluten free menu has substituted items to make it gluten free, and that I could have been seriously ill if I had trusted them. She blew it off as a menu issue and not her fault. In the end, I was still sick that night. Not as severe as it could have been though. The waitress, general manager, and the chef failed to know what needed to be done for a dish on their gluten free menu to actually be gluten free. Major fail, and I have no intentions of trying again.
Lazy DOG has a gluten free menu. I order from it and have never had a problem here. Very tasty food choices!
I ordered off the “Gluten Sensitive” menu. Good selection and a nice choice of sides. Even a dessert! I got the Grilled Shrimp tacos and let the Waitress know that I am Celiac not just “sensitive” and they were delicious and I have had No issues! Yay!
They have amazing options on a GF menu. The servers are aware and friendly. My favorite to get is the Chicken Tortilla Soup and also the Hummus with Vegetables which is huge and very flavorful. There are tons of options. Definitely a place I attend regularly.
Wide variety of options and cuisine. A “something for everyone” place. Love that they have a separate printed GF menu with safe choices or items that can be modified. Rice bowls, chicken entrees, lettuce wrap burger, some salad options. Fun vibe and friendly staff that was familiar with needs of a GF diner.
Always have had a great gluten-free experience at Lazy Dog. Staff have been very knowledgeable and careful. And it’s great that you can bring your dogs if you eat outside on the patio. They’re very doggie friendly. They always bring the dogs water and even have a doggie menu. Nice restaurant!
Gluten Free menu is readily available, they seem to understand. Gf dessert too.
First time I ordered there no problem, but second time I ordered (gluten sensitive sweet and spicy shrimp) every item tested positive for gluten on my Nima tester. Ugh.
I LOVE COMING HERE! Whenever I go out to eat lazy dogs is always at the top of my list of gf places to go. 😁🙌❤️
Sweet and spicy shrimp or tofu dish is the best!!
It's still a fairly new restaurant so service is not that great. But the food was amazing and worth the trip.
They have a gluten sensitive menu. There seemed to be multiple meals that could easily be made into gluten free options. The food is delicious and that is worth the limited choices.
I Have never had a problem there with my celiac Always great food and not that pricey
They are a Lazy Dog when it comes to their gluten free menu. The regular menu is filled with mouth watering selections. They hand you the gluten free menu and it looks like a weight watchers menu, such as hamburger patty on a slice of lettuce. Very disappointing. Many of the regular items look like they could make it a gluten free option like a salad without croutons, but they don’t make an effort to customize their menu to give you a bigger selection. Wont be back. It took too long to figure out what I could eat.
Very very very small gf menu. Everything they do have on it was expensive and plain. I actually left to go elsewhere it was that minuscule and unappealing.
Don’t trust the servers at this restaurant. They have not been properly trained to serve people with food allergies
It is gluten friendly but not suitable if you have celiac. We tried it twice and she was sick both times. They specify that it is not gluten free but she liked it before she got diagnosed so we wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately it didn’t work out.
Great experience. The gluten free menu says across the top "ask your server to notify management about your allergy." I did so, and the manager was very helpful and attentive. I had Tex-Mex salad without tortilla strips (we weren't 100% sure about the fryer) and the GF lemon cake, which was delicious. My Nima tester failed on the entree (bad capsule), but gave me a GF result for the cake.
Nima Tested the hamburger 🍔, the mash potatos, and wedge salad all came back NO gluten! Was very good! 👍
The staff was knowledgeable and they had a gluten-free menu with some good options. I didn’t get sick or have any problems.
Fairly large selection on gluten free menu. Best gluten free desert I’ve tasted!
I got the salmon and mashed potatoes with tortilla soup. The soup came with a cheese crisp that wasn’t GF. Got sick after eating here.
I have eaten from their gluten free menu a few times since I was diagnosed with celiac disease. I have not had any issues!
some gluten free options, but limited
They have a whole menu for gluten-free options, even one option off the weekend brunch menu.
They have some claimed gluten-free options however every time we have tried to eat there my wife has been in bad shape after word. It’s a real bummer because it such a nice restaurant that cross contamination is really bad.
Somewhat limited gf menu- mostly salads, salmon, plain chicken. I chose to have the sweet and spicy wok with shrimp and it was awesome! I definitely recommend that dish.
I have Celiac. I ordered the gluten free Hawaiian fried rice and tested it with my Nima Sensor, which determined it was gluten free. The waitress asked about specifics of Celiac so I was happy she wanted to learn.
Had gluten free menu for brunch, lunch and dinner. Service was good with solid drink menu. Could offer a few more selections but everything is good.
We are a bit disappointed with the selection. Even though they have a full page of gluten free menu, but if you take out the drinks, brunch, lunch specials, and desserts... you pretty much left with not much to choose from.
large gf menu. had the sweet and spicy wok with tofu- crispy on the outside - soft inside, just how it should be.
They had a pretty extensive GF menu. The server wasn't very knowledgeable, but offered to double check and was friendly. The GF food and regular food was mediocre. My husband got a beer sampler and really only liked one out of six.
Surprisingly filling GF options. Hamburger patty is delicious.
Felt very taken care of
CELIAC FRIENDLY! 😎 the staff is knowledgeable about what to do and how. Food tasty and good portion. Dear recommend!
I have celiac and am very sensitive. The server was really nice and helpful and patient, but unfortunately I got glutened anyway, so I'm afraid I can't eat here again. But they tried. Pry someone in the kitchen was just lazy and absent mindedly X-contaminated something. I may try them again sometime in the future in case it was a fluke.
Small gluten free menu, chicken, salmon or steak or salads, plus a shrimp taco option only available for lunch. Food is ok but not cheap. This place is fine if you want to eat something in a group with none celiacs and just eat something safe but for the price it's rather boring choices.
Had small gf menu. Great tasting food. Highly recommended.
I sat at the bar and the bartender was very informative about their menu and preparation. It's always reassuring when the staff at a restaurant are able to answer all of your questions without you even needing to ask. Well done Lazy Dog Cafe.
Quite a bit of food to choose off the menu. I felt like the staff was knowledgeable and I did not get sick after eating here which is huge for me. :)
There are tons of gluten free and dairy free options and the staff are generally well trained about gluten free. If you're very sensitive, ask for Nick or Sam as they are experts regarding gluten free options. The fryers are *not* free from cross-contamination, so avoid the fried tortillas or anything else fried.
