Sunday night 4/23 my wife and I visited Le Bistro a wonderful little restaurant in Lighthouse Pointe owned and operated by Andy and Elin Trousdale. While Andy is in the kitchen whipping up his culinary delights Elins warm smile is seeing to front of house. This warm and inviting little place is a gem to experience. My friends and I wound up lingering and were there till closing. We wanted to thank the chef and we were happy to chat with him and Elin for a few moments. LeBistro offers a primarily gluten free menu ( non gluten free items are marked) and Chef Andy utilizes the best and freshest ingredients and we all chose the market fish special which was snapper. A nice healthy portion of snapper served on a bed of perfectly prepared asparagus, blistered tomatoes, capers, olives, baby watercress in a delicate broth. Wonderful. My wife and I are gluten free and had the delicious flourless chocolate tarte for dessert. The best I’ve ever had anywhere. Light, rich and creamy.

Wonderful, accommodating and very safe place to dine for those that are gluten free
What a delightful place! Our food was amazing! Most of the menu is naturally gluten free, and what’s not is clearly marked. I had the - and it was cooked to perfection. The flavours were incredible. I would highly recommend this hidden gem.

This is a quaint restaurant with incredible food. An award winning husband and wife team co-owns it and provides a personal touch. They are very familiar with gluten free and Celiac Disease. My son and husband had the fresh catch of the day - snapper and a flourless chocolate cake. I had shrimp and risotto. Be prepared to spend high dollar, but the food and atmosphere are worth it for a splurge of deliciousness.

My wife and I had just got down to Pompano Beach and were looking for romantic gluten Free dinner nearby. This restaurant was perfect! Excellent food, service, & atmosphere. She had mushroom soup and lamb and I had escargots and mushroom risotto. Everything was amazing. We also had a nice surprise with a palate cleanser in between courses.

The best crab cakes ever and they are gluten free! They use rice as the coating! We had risotto and trio of seafood. No worries here, the apple cobbler was divine! Made with almond flour! A must try for an exceptionally excellent and worry free meal.

What a treat! Gluten free crab cakes, cauliflower steak, petit filet su poivre and apple cobbler made my night. Sauces are not thickened with any gluten here, apple cobbler is made with almond flour and crab cakes are pure crab with a rice flake coating. Simply fantastic and trustworthy venue. A must try'

Small restaurant with knowledgable and pro-active chef / owner. Knowledgable and well-trained staff
A very high majority of the menu items on Le Bistro's menu are available 100% gluten free. Special care and consideration is given to gluten free/celiac diners.
Very personalized options available as all food is prepared and cooked to order.

Wonderful and knowledgeable service and delicious, safe food. We informed the server that My husband has celiac and we were guided through the menu. Some items on the menu are available gluten free and traditional. The server showed us that he wrote celiac on the order form so the kitchen would prioritize and take every precaution. The chef personally delivered a gluten free birthday dessert to my husband. Very grateful to this fabulous restaurant.

I went to Le bistro for a nice date night. They had everything labeled for allergens so we ordered the crabcakes because it said they were gluten-free. However after I had the meal I was told the crabcakes weren’t gluten-free. After asking to speak to the manager he was rude and threatening and kicked us out of the restaurant once we said that everything that was labeled gluten-free should have actually been gluten free. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Statement from Le Bistro: scam alert - this person neglected to tell anyone in the restaurant she had celiac disease until after she ate her food including regular bread. At that point her dining partner began yelling and cursing in the dining room and decided they were not paying for all the food and wine they had already consumed. The chef was asked to "step outside and I was asked to call the police. By the time the police were able to respond, they had drove off. According to the Celiac Disease Foundation, when dining out, take simple steps to take responsibility for your health. Telling your server that you have celiac disease prior to ordering is fundamental. For the past 19 years, Le Bistro has employed a foolproof method to insure safe menu items for celiacs and others: 1) patron advises server prior to ordering about gluten/celiac/other issue. (this basic instruction is written on the menu) 2) server alerts the chef by indicating issue on the order ticket and verbally telling chef 3) chef takes special care to prepare food which is then delivered to patron. We will continue to serve safe gluten free menu items to our customers.
Really great food, and it is so hard to find French food celiac safe!

We came for the Valentines 7 course dinner and are very impressed!! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I of course could not have all of the items but they pointed out what was safe. :)

Most amazing place. Completely celiac safe. Family ran gem.

This husband and wife duo are amazing! The food was delish!! It was a wonderful experience from choosing what to eat, as the gluten free options are 95% of the menu, to the amazing appetizer, then the pallet cleanse, then the entree blew me away, last but not nearly least was the dessert! If you have celiac and in the area, do yourself a favor....try it!!

Almost all items GF. Chef very knowledgeable and accommodating for celiac and multiple food allergies. Delicious food. Great atmosphere.

AWESOME!!!!! Had Steak Diane and creme brûlée. Excellent!

Found this in my "find me gluten free" app. Wow!! From beginning to end was awesome. Waiter responded to my initial typical gluten free question by asking if I was gluten free or celiac then went on to explain that 95% of what was on the menu was gluten free and they actually mark the gluten containing foods with an asterisk! Chef/owner Andy then came out to speak with me personally and ask questions and explain how his dishes were made. The food was incredibly delicious. Escargot with pesto, mushroom soup and sable fish with a saffron source (flown in fresh from Seattle) with the most delicious Brussel sprouts. Best meal I've had in a long time.

Wow just wow! Super sensitive celiac, food was over the top. Knowledgable, great service.

What a lovely place! This is a hidden gem!! The owners have a friend that is celiac and have comitted most dishes to gf. Out of the whole menu, there are only 3 items we can't have, 1 app, 1 entree and 1 dessert.
We started with the Bee Pollen Goat Cheese - AMAZING!!
For entrees we had the wild mushroom risotto - Classic Comfort Food at its FINEST and the special, braised briaket with potato cakes in an onion sauce that was to die for. Then the chef (owner) surpised me with a side of horseradish sauce that brought all the flavors together.
For dessert we shared the vanilla creme brule - WOW - that sugar cracked like glass.
The wife was able to help me pair specific wines for the app and entree perfectly.
It is such an emotional moment when I find a place that is so aware and I can enjoy my meal worry free. Thank you Le Bistro!!!

The best dinner & dessert I've had in years!

I'm pissed at my self. I've lived near this place for 3 years and didnt' stop in. Seriously pissed at my self.
As a celiac finding true FINE DINING is tough, let alone a safe place to eat. Lets start here. It is safe, their staff knows what they are doing and are educated. AND, probably 95% of the menu is GF (like 2 items arent). No need to discuss further - you will be safe.
The food. OH THE FOOD. I am in heaven. Several of the items we had were - honest to god the best I've ever had. I am in love with lamb - and this was the best i've had all over the world, even before I was diagnosed.
The setting is SUPER awesome too. Quiet, comfortable and super friendly. The staff was amazing and fun - and super personable. The owner was working the door and tables, and you could tell there were tons of locals and regulars she knew... I dont know about you, but thats also a great sign! She was warm and super welcoming
Price - it is an upscale restaurant, it'll cost you a few dollars - but realize you are paying for a high end meal. 100% worth it. My tip - do the full dine out 4 course meal for 2, its a good deal.
Will I go back? Probably WAY too often now. lol
Yes
Absolutely wonderful!
My wife took me here for my birthday. She is a celiac and we dined like royalty. The majority of the menu is gluten free and the owners have a real understanding our needs.
If you avoid French or French inspired cuisine out of fear for heavily floured sauces, you are in for a treat. It feels forbidden, but it's just real, well prepared food.

A hidden gem. This place was outstanding. It's a small family owned place and they were very accommodating to my wife's gluten and dairy allergies. Our waitresses, who I believe was the wife of the chef, even brought out ingredients to double check when she wasn't sure. Most of their dishes are gluten free, and are tagged as such on the regular menu.

Excellent tasting food. Portions were slightly small, but still enough to fill you. About $30-$40 per person to eat there. Would go there again.

Found this place by accident. Wonderful food options. Fully understand GF issues. Will go back again!
Yum really interesting and gourmet options. Chef's wife is gluten free and he is very knowledgeable and approachable. He came out to talk with me and I felt very safe eating here, much more so than the big chains that have gluten free menus. $35 four course pre fixe is an exceptional deal. I can not fathom why people would be going to places like PF Changs when places like Le Bistro exist!!
The menu is 95% gluten free and everything is pretty much made in-house. The owners are always there and are very well versed in all things gluten free! Meals are always delicious and the have a 4 course, $35 prefixe dinner that one can never go wrong with. $100 gets you the prefixe dinner for 2 PLUS a bottle of wine. If your looking for something a little cheaper, they have $5 tapas plates too!
