I felt very comfortable eating here, the staff is very well trained on allergens. The gf pancakes were some of the best I’ve had in a long time.
Amazing experience (and this can be extended to the other restaurants we tried in Universal Orlando. If you have allergies, a dedicated waiter comes to your table with the alergens book to help you to choose your gluten free meal. I wish every attraction had the protocols I enjoyed at Universal Orlando.
Breakfast is five stars. Gluten free pancakes are amazing. Chef comes out to talk to you. Dinner is three stars. The roasted chicken was bland and dry but I had no reaction. Chef was knowledgeable and assuring and allergic food was brought out separately and marked.
The host sorted us into a separate allergy line when ordering and several chefs were walking back and forward answering questions. I have a gluten an dairy allergy, so the best option was the American Breakfast without the eggs (contains milk and sour cream). Sub fruit for eggs and the gluten free bun for croissant. Food came out very awkwardly, so be prepared for your table to get foods at different times.
Has gluten free pancakes for breakfast and gluten free buns (which don’t taste bad at all). Chefs come out to take to you about you allergy or food restrictions and are very accommodating. Perfect for those who are and aren’t gluten free. They even put a purple flag on your plate and the chef brings it right to you. Very safe! Great experience!
The chef comes out when you mark an allergy and talks with you to make sure you can eat. Yeah, he’s a little grumpy but you won’t get sick which is nice! The crispy chicken sandwich is really quite good and was my favorite meal at the park. The American breakfast is fine. Butter beer is all gluten free and my favorite was frozen.
Not a lot of gluten free options but the chicken sandwich worked. Mobile ordered and made sure to add “allergen note” as an item to the order. Chef came out to chat with us before making and delivering our food, with the GF item marked and separate from the rest of our order. Appreciate the well themed atmosphere.
Got the grilled chicken sandwich with gf bun! when ordering there was an option for allergy and before my food was made someone came out to clarify and confirm that everything was separate and safe!
We have eaten here a few times in the past, twice on our current vacation. The only meals that are GS (they mark items as Gluten sensitive) are the chicken sandwich and Fish pie. The chicken sandwich on the GF bun is pretty good. I heard it was dry but that has not been my experience. The sandwich comes with roasted potato wedges that are quite good. I also got a side salad and it was nice. Tender greens with beets on the side and a seasoned tomato. Last year I tried the fish pie and that was also good. It has mashed potatoes on top as the crust. They have all the Harry Potter themed drinks (we have tried them all) as well as Butterbeer ice cream and Butterbeer or chocolate potted cream. We were told the Butterbeer potted cream is GS, so tried that last year. It was ok but not great. This year we ordered on the Universal app and marked Allergy. A chef came out to speak with us before making our food. The food came out with a purple pick, purple is their color for gluten free. I have seen people post that there was a long wait, I have not experienced this but we tend to eat at “off” times to avoid lines.
Took a little bit to be seated but the service was great. I had a chicken sandwich and was alright. Chef came down to our table and explained thay there was a separate fryer for potatoes. Amazing Harry Potter experience as well!
Just like all the other universal restaurants, when you add an allergen note to your order in the app a chef will come review your order with you. Same chef delivers your food with allergen toothpick in it. Not many options here, but the chicken sandwich was a little more dressed up than in other lunch spots. Atmosphere is almost identical to the three broomsticks.
The only thing we could eat that was gluten and dairy free was the chicken sandwich on gluten free roll with potatoes. It was fine. It took really long time to get our food once we ordered.
Only two GF options on the menu (chicken sandwich with wedge fries or shepherd’s pie) but they are delicious! Chef came out to confirm allergens and to prepare separately.
They even have the dairy free butterbeer foam now.
Ate here while on vacation recently. Ordered a chicken sandwich and potato wedges. Someone from the kitchen came to our table to confirm what the allergy/intolerance was and confirmed we’d be all set. Food was great and had no issues whatsoever. And yeah, the butterbeer is also GF. :)
My son has celiac. Eating here was a great experience. We spoke with staff members before entering about what options were safe and they also recommended us to order from our Universal app and note a food allergy. The chef came out to review our needs and explain how they handle preparation of our food to prevent cross contamination. No issues and the food was great.
Their chicken sandwich can be ordered on a gluten free bun, and they have a dedicated fryer so the potato wedges were gluten free as well! Good meal, and the service was super quick!
Ate here for lunch two days while at Universal Studios! Located in Diagon Alley. Felt very comfortable after talking to Chef- ate chicken sandwich on GF bun, with fried potatoes- all GF, dedicated fryer. The only other GF option was the fisherman’s pie. I ate the chicken sandwich two days. Order at counter instead of mobile ordering, chef came out at my request both days and said he would personally make the order.
They were asking everyone to put in a mobile order and I did that noting an allergy. We told them we had 3 celiacs and a special server was brought over to confirm our mobile order. We had 3 chicken sandwiches with different toppings and they got the orders right. There was an issue with the butter beer but they fixed it immediately. Great experience.
Disappointing experience. Mobile Ordering in place today. I ordered the chicken sandwich with the gluten free bun and marked it on the app as an allergy notice. Told the hostess about my food being marked as an allergy and she said the chef would come to our table. After a long wait, my food was brought out. It was brought out separately with a gluten free bun, as ordered. Disappointed I was not able to talk to the chef, as I had been told. This left me unsure about there being a separate fryer for the fries and additional toppings on the sandwich being gluten free.
We stopped here for lunch with celiac son. Ordering is mobile, so we had someone come over who brought out a chef. He had an allergen book, and we discussed cross-contamination. My son chose the chicken sandwich which came with bacon, cheese, and fries. The Nima sensor detected gluten. We had used a tiny piece of bun, cheese, fries, bacon, and chicken so are not sure where the gluten was detected. We changed the chicken sandwich for fisherman’s pie which passed for no gluten. Multiple staff came over to apologize and check on my son. It may have just been an off day as others have reviewed that they have eaten here with success.
In years past, Disney has far exceeded Universal in terms of awareness, measures against cross contamination, as well as consideration for ingredients that contain common allergens. Not now! Universal staff was knowledgeable and immediately signaled for the chef when they learned of our gluten and dairy allergies. The chef came to speak directly to us, to advise whether our selections were safe and made adjustments based on the normal cooking and presentation of items compared to what was safe for us. The chef prepared the meal personally and brought it out to us. Highly recommend!
the ordering process was not as reassuring as Disney but specialty chicken sandwich and fries were tasty and passed our Nima sensor test. The server insisted they have a separate fryer for GF fries but worth validating
We ate breakfast here on our trip to Universal. My daughter had the kids American breakfast that included eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, a pancake, and croissant. They were able to substitute the regular pancake for a gluten free pancake and extra sausage for the croissant. We alerted the cashier that there was a gluten allergy and she brought out the chef to take our order. The food was very good and my daughter with Celiacs had no issues afterwards.
I got the speciality chicken sandwich on a GF bun with fries (in designated fryer). The staff will notate your allergy so it is prepared safely. I ate here twice and had no issues! Pretty tasty too! Wish there were more safe options at the universal / islands of adventure theme parks. You can always bring your own food too - remember that :)
The only option available was the Specialty Chicken Sandwich, which came with fries. The food was pretty good and the staff was very helpful
It really depends on your order taker. We had a guy who either hated his job or was indifferent to our request for a GF meal. My son is celiac, and I had to tell him to put allergy in the order. Absent me pleading with him, I think he would have put it in as just a GF bun on the one item that can be made GF for lunch - a chicken sandwich. We had this meal included with a Hogwarts package. I would not seek this place out as a good celiac friendly place for my family.
Nothing says gf on the menu but all you had to do was ask! The staff was AMAZING the cook came and talked with me personally gave me plenty of options, all burgers there are available on gf bread so I got a grilled chicken sandwich (they offered by less too if your keto)and I held the cheese bc I’m dairy free! The sandwiches came with fries that were safe for both celiac and being gluten free I asked but once again, though not on the menu steamed veggies were an option along with a side salad for substitute sides! Highly recommend!!
Once we mentioned celiac, the counter service person got a chef from the back to take our order. The options were limited: fisherman’s pie, chicken sandwich with gf bun, and maybe one more item on the menu. We got the chicken sandwich and fries (fried separately). Felt safe eating here and the fries were great.
As a Celiac it is always questionable to eat in a theme park. This place offers a couple of options and does not have a dedicated fryer. Breakfast was good but pricy for what I was served. Lunch was a chicken sandwich on Udi bread and was definitely not worth the cost.
La dame à la caisse a pris la peine d’aller voir le chef pour savoir ce que je devrais prendre, ce qui m’a mis très en confiance. J’ai mangé un excellent pâte de poisson sans gluten.
The only gf option is the chicken sandwich on a gf bun but it was very good. I got it topped with cheese and bacon and with a side of mashed potatoes, but you can also get a side salad with it. Chef came out to explain their kitchen procedures and they confirmed it was gf when they brought it to our table. I hope they get more gf options in the future but at least the one thing they do have tastes good.
Not a ton of options but verry acomidating. Ate breakfast there for 2 days and then lunch on the 3rd. I ate a specialty chicken sandwich that had a gluten free bun the fries are not gluten free so I substituted them for a side salad. And they have a gf pankcake meal. The staff was friendly and brought out my food seterately and told me exactly what I was eating. Never had a problem!
The only GF item is the chicken sandwich but the staff don’t understand how to punch it in as GF without help because they don’t know what it is. The people next to us had the same issue. The dressing provided had yeast extract and was not marked GF
Celiac. Not many options, but the chicken sandwich is delicious. The side salad was a bit lacking, but it didn’t make me sick! Butter beer is $$ but delicious.
Our son is extremely sensitive - upon ordering they explained that the chicken sandwich was the option of choice ... and let me say it was amazing! No reaction issues here.. highly recommend !
