I ate lunch there and told them multiple times to inform the kitchen about gluten free. (Celiac/severe gluten “allergy “). I got very sick almost immediately after eating.
Best celiac-friendly place that also has gluten on the menu that I've ever encountered. If you want to be extra careful, have fish pan-seared instead of grilled since the grill is shared. Fries are safe :)
All GF foods are clearly marked and the server was very knowledgeable. They have a dedicated GF fryer and warm dinner rolls before dinner. Amazing food and I did not get sick!
great fried seafood, plus rolls. Clearly unstood food prep concerns and had plan in place to handle celiac not just gluten free by choose. more things on the menu were offered GF then not. even most deserts were offered. couple of cakes only were not but no surprise there. have not had fried seafood this good since going GF 6 Years sgo.
Good selection and the restaurant really seems to get it.
I travel all over the country and this is my favorite restaurant! Great GF menu and the hot, fresh GF rolls alone are worth the trip!
Love legal sea foods and this location was no exception. They took my declaration of celiac disease very seriously and I was told the manager handles all gluten allergies. He brought out my food himself. All staff was very friendly and the fish and chips and onion rings were incredible.
Amazing! I cannot have dairy as well and they made my meal gluten AND dairy free. They have a dedicated fryer. Had fried calamari and fish and chips with fries! Wonderful to find a place to eat fried food and have a ton of choices!! Crazy that this is available at an airport!
Fantastic choice for celiac sufferers. My husband and I shared “Dragon roll” sushi and they left all sauces on side and left crispy wontons (which contain gluten) on side in a cup for my husband (who can eat them)... then I had mahi mahi tortillas- minus tortilla—- they put them in lettuce wraps and made them gluten free... and we finished with gf chocolate dipped ice cream bon bons (gf)... they went out of their way to assist me... and it was delicious 👍👍👍 We are regulars and I highly recommend.
Great options for GF! They have dedicated fryers and workspace. The manager,David, served my food personally to assure me all was safe for me. GF breads and rolls, GF fish, bacon etc Can’t say enough good about it and it’s in an airport!!!
5 minutes after sitting down, my celiac daughter ate a gluten roll that the waitress brought to our table. This was after explaining we had celiac and her promising us GF rolls. She only ate one bite but only because I looked at the next table and realized they had the same rolls. The waitress (and manager) said “Oops. Sorry”. We did not eat there and wouldn’t recommend any other celiac eating their either.
Menu is clearly marked w/ what items are or can be made gluten free. They use a corn mixture for frying instead of regular flour which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately our waiter was very arrogant and condescending to our questions about cross contamination and ensuring my meal was safe. The food was tasty (gf rolls were excellent!) Chowder was delicious - tasted just like clam chowder but w/ the consistency of a noodle soup almost. Fried fish platter was also very good and crispy. Nima tested the bread to ensure it was safe and it passed. Ate and did not get sick - unfortunately the waiter’s overall attitude put a damper on the experience. Would definitely return but request another service. Overall, excellent food and it’s safe.
Staff was extremely knowledgeable about gluten free/celiac preparation. The server went above and beyond to explain things to me in a way that made me feel comfortable. The food was delicious. There was only one downside, but it was a big one. Fifteen minutes after putting the first bite of food in my mouth I was sick in the bathroom. I had a strong reaction to something there... I had the gluten free rolls before my meal, then had the gluten free fish and chips (fries). It also came with fried onion rings on top. They were aware of my “allergy” so I’m not really sure what specifically caused the reaction, but something must’ve slipped thru the cracks. All of their batters were supposed to be gluten free so I didn’t think twice about eating the fried food. The food was so good and they seemed so knowledgeable I would honestly try them again the next time I’m in Atlanta. Accidents happen, and if it was just an isolated mistake I would still like to try a lot of items on their menu. They told me the owner had celiac and they go to great lengths to make sure it’s prepared celiac friendly, but I guess there are no guarantees.
I've never had a bad experience at Legal Seafoods and this location was no different. Server asked right away about allergies, even before I mentioned gf. They brought out gf rolls that were delicious. I got fried haddock that was very tasty and fresh. When I verified they still had a gf fryer the server told me all their friend seafood is gluten free. A different employee brought my plate out separately and told me she was the allergy runner and that my meal was gluten free. Service and food were both great.
This place is amazing!! Brown rice batter for fried calamari, gluten free buns for sandwiches. Most of the menu can be made gluten free. The staff is very knowledgeable. They have a completely separate kitchen for gluten free orders, plus the chef will come out and talk to you about the meal to make you feel even more safe. I will be back.
Staff very knowledgeable about GF - GF rolls brought out and my questions about cross contamination where answered respectfully. Kitchen staff brought out my food separately and explained how it was prepared and cooked separately. I’ve never felt more confident in food I didn’t cook myself! I’m very sensitive to gluten and had absolutely no problems.
Legal is my number one, always safe option. Tell the waitstaff that you have celiac disease as soon as they seat you because they'll heat up delicious gluten free rolls that are made by a nearby bakery, Something Sweet Without Wheat. Legal has strict protocols in place for dealing with customers with celiac. My food is always served to me by the manager, who always assures me that no gluten has come anywhere near my food. And in the dozens of times I've eaten there, it never has.
Our server, Michael, was well-informed about what was safe and what wasn’t. The menu is clearly marked. They even brought GF bread. The food wasn’t mind-blowing, but I was excited to be able to eat fish and chips and calamari, which hardly ever happens.
just went here last night and they were just great. asked about dietary restrictions when we called for a res. they have tons of GF options on the menu. when I said I was dairy free also, the manager came to me and said the Caesar dressing couldn't be modified and ordered me others that would work. she then said she would personal monitor my good prep and bring it to me herself. I had amazing lobster w2 sides and a salad. I get sick at restaurants frequently, and this please just did a wonderful job.
Total surprise to me that their fry batter used for all dishes is actually gluten free meaning you can order popcorn shrimp and fish and chips and it'll taste just like everyone else's. Most of the menu is gluten free (no gluten crab cakes though) and if it's not gluten free there's a chance they can modify it to be- I had them make their nutty salmon dish gluten free for me and it was awesome!
I have a 10 year old with celiac. She had fries and fish sticks which we were told would be safe. Waitress even asked detailed questions. And by the time we got home my daughter was sick and up all night with stomach pains. Not sure where it went wrong. Very disappointed.
All GF fryers, finally got to have the fried seafood I've been missing! GF rolls are also good.
Today I sat at the bar at Legal Sea Foods and was seriously impressed by all the attention paid to allergies. “Allergy to: dairy, mussels, gluten, nuts...” each were announced to the kitchen staff clearly, and managers delivered all of the allergy dishes personally. As a solo traveler with celiac, I’m not a big fan of eating in restaurants. Legal is the exception. It’s pricey, and I can never finish the large portions, but it is well worth it for the guarantee of a safe meal while traveling! Also: this branch had super soft rolls to start out your meal! I almost questioned whether or not they were really GF because they tasted so good!
Wife has went to many different legal seafoods and even came here once before and never got sick. the manager even came out with food and made sure it was gluten free. The last time we went here for her birthday and she has gotten very sick. The manager didnt bring out the food this time and accidently overcharged us twice. Never again.
Even fried foods are gluten free!!!! Freaking awesome. 90% of the menu we can eat!!! Awesome.
The GF fried calamari was great. They also had the option of GF popcorn shrimp, fish and chips and other items that typically aren’t GF. They served hot GF bread. And everything was clearly marked on the menu. Our server was delightful and the staff was really fun and friendly.
Excellent restaurant for all - especially for celiacs. The staff is knowledgeable and they have recipes and protocols in place to ensure that all diners have a delightful experience. Our 7 year old celiac enjoyed the gf bread, chicken fingers and French fries this time. We have been consistently impressed with this restaurant after a number of visits.
Legal Seafood always goes the extra mile and is very cautious about cross contamination. The new menu now shows GF options rather than separate menus. I always enjoy starting with a bowl of GF light clam chowder. Today I had the seafood casserole with shrimp and scallops. Everything was perfect. Love this place!
