I had the Hot Lump Crab Dip appetizer and the Garden Salad with Salmon for lunch. Both tested GF. Waitress was very helpful and Manager delivered food reiterating that it was GF upon delivery. I’m so thankful that this restaurant truly cares for their customers and continues to be reliable for a safe meal.

Great food & knowledgeable staff! Their fried calamari is delicious! They have dedicated friers & GF dredge for fried foods (calamari, fish & chips, fried oysters). The seafood casserole is amazing too! They even have GF rolls too! You have to ask for them but they’re so fluffy & flavorful!

I have to change my initial rating. While I don't think I was glutened with this meal, I did get violent food poisoning. I ate grilled trout and coleslaw (& some fries). Not sure what happened. It was bad. I'm sad to cross this one off my list of choices.

Initial Response: Great meal. It was a relief to eat here. They knew what they were doing. My first French fries since being diagnosed with celiac.

Manager brought all my food personally. Everything was delicious including the gluten free rolls. I had scallops over a bacon hash wonderful. Lobster And a chocolate pudding cake for desert. Everything was delicious!!

I have gotten sick here twice. The first time, I'm not sure what happened. The second time, they used the spicy breading instead of the gluten free one. Both times were during slow times of day. The afternoon wait staff seem disinterested. I have never had a problem with the one in short hills even though they are much busier.

A rich GF menu amd the waitress seemed very familiar with gluten issues. She was supportive when when we asked for a glove change. She took it upon herself to offer our kids GF rolls which my son enjoyed a great deal. They were willing to make items on the kids menu from scratch for the kids also. The manager delivered the GF dishes. Great experience.

Brought my kids (both have celiac) to Legal Seafoods for lunch today. They were able to make the fish sticks and the chicken tenders from the kids menu completely gluten-free and safe from cross-contamination for my kids to enjoy. French fries were also gluten-free and in a dedicated fryer so they were safe. After a few bites, both my kids jumped up in the booth and shouted we "love it here"! So excited to finally find a local place our entire family can enjoy.

Outstanding. They understand Gluten-free and Celiac. They asked if it was a preference or allergy. Rolls were outstanding! Fish and chips! Fist time in ages since diagnosed. Meal was Fantastic!

hostesses immediately called the manager to come answer our questions. told us which sauces were not GF, brought rolls on special plate, server was excellent. huge portions of fish and chips. very happy child!

We have been coming here for years. Excellent GF menu. Great seafood. Definitely the place to go when you want fried food. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Kid friendly. Excellent kids menu.

I have eaten at this location many times, as well as other locations and I've never had an issue. I am somewhat neurotic though - checking and double checking that they know my order must be gluten free.

The GF fried calamari is absolutely delicious, and I order it every time I come!

I have eaten a variety of things off the menu and never had an issue. Servers are generally knowledgable. I got sick 1 time because of a mix up with the gluten free bread rolls... Server asked I wanted them, and then when I said yes, put down the plate she was holding with rolls on them and left. I only took 1 bite before realizing that she might be coming BACK with GF rolls.. And what I was eating was not it. Could have been a lot worse!! Now I clarify EVERYTIME, at this restaurant and at others.

Always reliable and knowledgable staff for gf seafood dining. I always get gf calamari and only wish they'd do fried clams, scallops and shrimp as an appetizer too. I don't eat much fried food anymore but once a year I get a craving. Eat safe and well at any Legal Seafood.

Feb 2014 update. They now have gf fried clams, scallops and shrimp. I don't eat much fried food but when I do I make sure it's worth while.

They used to be wonderful until they started getting sloppy this past year. They put regular croutons on my salad and then argued with me when I told them. Then they came back and admitted they were wrong but by then I had eaten half the salad. I havent been back since and Im not willing to give them a second chance. Never argue with a gf customer!

The gluten free options are amazing. The menu is an actual menu with options and the waitstaff were very knowledgeable. The staff was also well aware of other allergies and very accommodating. There is a dedicated GF fryer. And the food is awesome. There was also GF buns! The chef burned them the first go but the second time they got them!

Gluten free kids meals were tasty. The dedicated frier and large menus were a plus. The gf buns are not recommended. Stick to the yummy seafood

Amazing! Had an entire gf fisherman’s platter. (Share this with others - it is gigantic!) separate fryer, knowledgeable staff, entire menu is marked and almost everything can be gf!

The menu is extra clear with what is gluten free or not. The fry batter used is totally gluten free, and the serving staff is wicked conscious of allergens. Upon alerting the staff of the severe allergy, they took extra note and had the chef who prepared the meal bring the gf plate out. Their caution paid off as I did not get sick afterwards.
