This place is fantastic! I mentioned to the server that I needed GF options. She was knowledgeable and friendly. And I finally got to have something GF and fried! The buffalo fried shrimp was fantastic! They brought warm GF buns to the table, so I was able to enjoy while the folks I dined with has their own buns (served separately). Absolutely great food, no reactions. The only problem was I ate waaaaay more than I should have!

I usually stay away from chain restaurants, but not in this case. I love this place. Sometimes I crave comfort foods and they have an extensive menu of things to choose from. Their fried shrimp and calamari is delicious. I've eaten here many times while traveling and is has always been safe.

We were at the World of Coca Cola (Centennial Park and Acquarium) so lucky to find this good fish restaurant so close. We were told that the manger is very aknowledge with GF and being Celiac, so every plate will be double checked before being served. I decided to trust them and let my daughter have fish and chips. They brought her some GF rolls which she enjoyed hawith butter. For some reason she didn't like F&C, but didn't get sick, so I think it was only her personal taste.

Hi I'm Morgan and like most of you I have celiac. Not to long ago we went to Legal Sea Foods for a family event. The hostess said that they were 100% gluten free and that I could even get fish and chips! I was thrilled! When everyone ordered I assured our waiter that I had a severe gluten allergy and ordered the fish and chips. They were delicious! Until on the car ride home we had to stop for you know what! I was up sick all night! When I was up to the task and called the restaurant. The manager was truly very upset about it and gave us a 75 dollar gift certificate, but I don't think I will be going back anytime soon!

This place is fantastic! Everything fried is gluten free and they use canola oil (no soy!!!)!!! This was the first time my son was able to order French fries or onion rings at a restaurant! The gluten free dinner rolls are from "somethingsweetwithoutwheat.com" and they were fabulous! This place took note of all of our many, many allergies, and cooked our food to order. We will be returning!

I have reviewed them in the past after a major disappointment. Yesterday's visit was phenomenal though. The GF rolls were warm and soft, almost like my husband's non GF rolls. The GF fried calamari was delicious with consistent breading and chewy squid. The fried Fisherman's Platter was delicious and the clams were tender and yummy. The waitress really seemed to understand my needs and the manager brought out my meals. We went back hesitantly after a bad experience there this past spring, but now this restaurant is back on the top of my list!

This restaurant understands Celiac. There are many GF options and they even had GF rolls. They have fries that they make in a separate pan. We had a great GF experience here last night for dinner...much better than my first time. Note to self: this is a seafood place, so stick with the seafood. I'm glad I had the swordfish last night with Bernaise butter sauce and GF french fries. Yes, they actually offer GF safe french fries. I literally asked the waitress, the kitchen manager and the guy that brought our food if these were safe. The manager explained that they get a clean pan and fresh oil and fry them up separate from the regularly fried foods. My fellow GF-diner had the salmon and red onion jam, which he raved about all night. We skipped dessert, but we will definitely be back for me. In case you are wondering, on a previous and not as appetizing experience I had the jasmine rice special with broccoli...thus, I advocate the fish over the other specials. Update 2/6/2013: lunch today was delicious. I had the GF seafood casserole with GF crumbs on top and a side of braised greens. The scallops were the best part. Warning: this dish is drawning in butter and garlic; it could be a bit messy if you have an important meeting or are dressed nicely. Eat carefully...but enjoy the buttery goodness!

Server and staff were super friendly, but the food was not good. Our first player of gf calamari was gross - breading falling off and mushy. She brought out a second plate which was much better, but I wish she'd never brought out the first. My salmon wasn't cooked all the way through either. Had stomach issues for 36 hours after my meal, probably due to the grease. Really disappointing.

Excellent choice for dinner!! Our waiter helped with our GF and DF questions. The only "mess-up" came when we realized that my husband could have requested egg wash prior to frying as opposed to a buttermilk wash. He had the Fisherman's Platter. He was very pleased with the taste!! I had the char-grilled snapper with broccoli and rice which covered my GF and DF needs. The GF rolls are also DF which we had with olive oil brought to the table as opposed to butter. When I asked if the rolls were made in house, they said no, but they wrote down the name of the company from which they were ordered. The rolls are made specifically for the restaurant, but I look forward to checking out the website for other GF possibilities. We will definitely return when back in DC!!!

used to be very good. still good with allergy-friendly dining, but the most recent time we went, with multiple people with different allergies at the table (that's why we chose this place bc they've always handled it well), we waited over an hour for food, and no check in from management. poor waiter got stuck in the middle, fearing that we would leave him no tip. manager emerged only bc we ask for one at the end of the meal, and a small discount was reluctantly offered. not much of a heartfelt apology either. makes it hard to think about returning to this location with that kind of service.

Flying through Boston's Logan airport today for a late night flight to Canada. Needed to find some dinner during my 90 minute layover and was lucky enough to find this across from my gate. It's a bit pricey like any other airport restaurant, but worth it. So the majority of the menu is or can be GF. What a find. So since I'm in Boston I had to have clam chowder and legals fried clams. It's been years since I've had fried clams in a restaurant so had to do it. Chowder was great. The fried clams were good. So per server all their fryers in all locations are GF.

Thank god for legals! No one has tried harder to push the gluten free/celiac cause than these guys. While some say it taste like chain food I think they have managed to stay ahead of other chains and their stale menus or bland food. Legals uses GF ingredients and fryers for all of their fried food and is very careful with cross contamination. Where else can you get fried fish, bread and clam chowder that is GF!? I would love it if they had lobster rolls with GF bread or hot dog bun, others have mastered this and it wouldn't take much (yes they will make with their GF rolls but its just not the same). Please don't criticize Legals even if you don't love the food because they have done so much to advance GF/Celiac causes and it's not just for the diet fad, they have real allergic sufferers in mind.

Happy with my visit. I had a crabmeat sandwich (because it was $10 cheaper than a lobster sandwich). It came on a soft, warm, flaky GF bun. I'm told the fries are safe, but I think they serve some other breaded and fried things. Regular menu is clearly marked with things that are or can be made GF. Much appreciated! Many options. LSF was recommended on a travel Website and was a quick 2 min walk from the Hilton. The server, Meredith, was bright and bubbly, and very passionate about the food and restaurant, especially the Gluten-Free options. On her recommendation I ordered the GF Fish and Chips and their GF beer. Being from NZ, I am always a starter for good F&C. Their attention to the many GF options and to food handling is outstanding. F&C looked great. But lacked flavour (needed salt and 'something' in the batter). Onion straws were dry. Chips the stringy McDonald type and a bit cool. GF beer was great. I will go back, but probably opt for the Snapper, which looked great at next table.

Love love love!!! Lots of great options, me and my mom swear by this place. I am allergic to dairy and gluten so eating out at a place I can enjoy safely can be fairly daunting. I let them know and they told me if they could do certain dishes. Gluten free dishes are clearly marked with a little leaf. I cannot eat the fried foods as the batter has dairy, but i can appreciate gluten free fried food even if I can't eat it! I had the snapper verde with fries and spinach and it was AMAZING. Food is pricey so be mindful, but if you can swing it then it is very worth it!

Gluten free options AMAZING! I had fried fish and chips too with fried onion strings and I almost cried! It was really good even for my non gf husband. He said the batter was perfect. 👍🏻. The salad was fresh and tasty and the GM brought over hot gluten free rolls with butter which were the best gf rolls I've ever had. Still a little drier than regular, but with butter on the top you barely notice. He explained that from their point of view many are trying to avoid gluten and desire more healthy eating, so they are doing their best to meet the need. The gf options on the menu were extensive. Each item that could be made gf had a little icon beside it making it very easy to scan the options. My husband said the clam chowder was really good too. The fish and chips were $20 which is a bit high, but when I tasted it, it was amazing. The price might limit me from visiting as often as I'd like, but I'll be back!
