Absolutely delicious! Went 3x in a 4 day stay. Best gluten free bread and pastries i've ever had. My fairly picky, gluten loving 6 year old even thoroughly enjoyed the pancakes.

DELICIOUS Belgium waffle with high quality (sweet) fruit and deeeelicious coffee as well! My husband is not GF but he loved the bread his omelet came with! Can’t wait to go again tomorrow on day two of our little getaway to Santa Barbara.

Love love love. Had the french toast, a tart, and a muffin. All amazing. Got a loaf of rosemary/olive oil bread to go with no idea what it tasted like. Had some later in the day and holy cow- amazing. Sneak some over to Olio e Limone for a great meal

We were on a girls trip, I have celiac and my 3 friends do not. This place was so good we had breakfast there twice and loved it! The quiche, waffles, champagne, breakfast potatoes, fresh juices, avocado toast (made on fresh baked bread), chicken and apple sausage were all fantastic! Wish we had one of these in San Diego!!

I went to Lilac Pâtisserie with three non gf friends and they loved it as much as I did. It was so delicious and it is so nice to see a dedicated GF bakery/cafe/restaurant. I had the tuna sandwich! The bread was amazing and I highly recommend it.

The food here is amazing and you wouldn’t even know it’s gluten free because the food is so good. Everything is completely gluten free and incredibly safe. I’m celiac and have been eating here for years, and have never once gotten sick. I love the waffles and the breakfast sandwiches.

This place is incredible. So many options, the flavor and texture are insane. It makes me second guess if everything really is gluten free!🤣😋 I have been here so many times lately and I just love the coffee cake and the berry chocolate cake. You can order just a slice! Omg, the chocolate is light and buttery and the cake is moist! Fantastic!

Everything is OK. I honestly don’t understand the amazing reviews because I’ve probably been here 10+ times and each time the food and desserts are either mediocre, or ‘pretty good’. Never had anything here that was amazing, and the customer service is ok, also not amazing. But grateful it’s 100% gf and it’s a good option when we are visiting.

I’m giving this place one star to bring attention to my review because there are a few items at Lilac which are NOT safe for celiacs. I could never figure out why I was getting very sick after eating here at times. I even sent an email to the owner trying to figure out ingredients of things, thinking I had an intolerance to something else (dairy, egg, etc.) And then I was tipped off when I noticed that the oat milk they use for their lattes was not a celiac safe oat milk. I subsequently asked if any of their products contain oats/oat flour and sure enough, some of their breads do. (I can’t remember if any of the pastries have oat flour, but I believe the majority do not.) Well, sure enough, after eliminating the products with the oat flour, I never had an issue again. Oats are so tricky when it comes to celiac disease. Another frustrating part of my experience was that some employees there are poorly informed - one even stated “we don’t use oats in anything” (I responded “yes, you do” and she argued with me that she has “worked there for five years”.) However, after she pulled out a binder, which lists all the ingredients of their products, she saw that some do indeed contain oat flour, and apologized. Nonetheless, you can absolutely eat here safely. Just do yourself a favor and make sure what you are ordering does not have oats!

Disappointing given all the five star reviews. We tried two savory dishes in the restaurant and ordered a cupcake to go. Nothing wowed us. What am I missing? Felt sluggish after eating here. Not enough vegan treats given the overlap of gf and vegan/dairy-free.

This is my favorite place in Santa Barbara. I’ve been coming here for several years to get my bakery fix. I like getting a half sandwich so I have room for cake. The cake selection varies but there are a few they seem to have every day. My gluten-eating husband always enjoys whatever he gets here. The best thing is that every meal is completely safe for me.

We went here for early brunch on a Sunday. We had the breakfast sandwich and an assortment of pastries (lemon merengue tart, coffee cake, linzer torte). The breakfast sandwich was pretty good, but nothing mind blowing, as was the coffee cake. The linzer torte was yummy but $4 for a two inch cookie seemed a little silly. The lemon merengue tart was amazing though! I did love that this place was 100% gluten free, but it was a little too expensive for me to justify coming here regularly.

Eggs Benedict, lemon squares and brownies all delicious. Enjoyed the club sandwich as well. The key lime tart was disappointing. Only about 1 teaspoon worth of key lime filling and the rest was all regular whipped cream. It did not have a key lime taste. Brownies and lemon bars delicious but literally cost over $1.00 per bite. Over $3.00 each and yes gone in 2 -3 regular bites. A bit too expensive and if had been a little less cost I would have bought a lot more things. The breakfast sandwich and full size tuna fish sandwich was very small. Not a portion that would be satisfactory for breakfast or lunch and should come with a side salad or other side. My husband was still very hungry after eating his sandwich. An $18 sandwich should have contained more. His tuna fish sandwich was very thin and there was probably less than than 1/4 cup of tuna fish in his full size sandwich. The breakfast sandwich was also thin. These reminded me of diet portions and yet the cost was the same for eggs Benedict and other breakfast items and the breakfasts had a lot of food and was good with portion size.

This place truly is a gem. While visiting Santa Barbara I was looking for a good breakfast place and this was it. The Manager, a young woman, who greeted my wife and I was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Great recommendations and I made our day. Not only the whole place is gluten free, but the food is delicious as well. Highly recommend

I am a brownie aficionado...aka SNOB! These are fudge, gooey, & soft.However once I had a BITE I can taste the espresso. I do NOT enjoy coffee! THIS IS WHY MY RATING IS LOWER! The top has the signature crackle. My daughter loves the lemon bars! Everything IS GF!!! YAY!!!

Unbelievably good. We had quiche and avocado toast which were sublime, and the patisserie is just unreal. Highly recommend you try everything you can!
