Busy little place, but quick service and helpful and honest staff. Asked when we got there if gluten free food is Celiac safe. Host let me know he was unsure and confirmed with cook- all GF foods are cooked on a separate griddle with separate dishes. Delicious breakfast items, and exceptional clam chowder.
We didn’t try the sandwiches or burgers, but confirmed that GF bread can be subbed for regular bread or buns if we wanted those. Unfortunately their fries (chirps) are not gluten free, but I’m sure staff would be happy to sub hash browns or something else.
100% planning to visit again when we’re back in the area.

Great breakfast spot that had many GF options. Went with the kids and grandkids. They enjoyed as well even though only I had to have gf! Staff were knowledgeable and food was great!

Great little spot that I wouldn’t have guessed would have so many Gf options if it weren’t for this app. I had the stuffed hash browns and they were great.

Wow, so so impressed by this place!! So many gf options, all delicious, and they have an entirely separate prep area/griddle. I had the eggs Benedict and a marionberry lemonade (my partner got the stuffed hash browns with 3 meats) and can’t wait to go back! Heads up that it’s cash/check only but they do have an atm there.

This was the BEST gf breakfast I’ve had in years hands down! I had low expectations of gf offerings in a small town but boy was I wrong! This beats breakfasts I’ve had in major cities with thriving food scenes. This is getting redundant, but I had the best hash browns, best omelet, best pancake, and best toast ever! The server was very knowledgeable about gf and I felt safe eating there. No adverse reactions later. Bonus: they make their own homemade Marionberry and strawberry jams. Next time we visit the Oregon Coast, we’ll be sure to stop in Florence to come to the Little Brown Hen!

Food is so good! They asked if I had celiac or if gf was a preference. I told them celiac and they told the kitchen and assured me that they have a dedicated area gf food on the griddle as well as gf toast AND the biggest and best pancake ever!!

Loved this place. Good food, separate griddle for breakfasts, including GF toast. Staff was knowledgeable and patient. Ambience is iffy outside, since you're sitting next to a highway, but it was still nice to be outside in the sun. Would go again. I had scrambled eggs with bacon and toast.

Great experience, friendly staff, outdoor seating options, lots of delicious GF breakfast items. Server was very aware of cross contact and they have a separate grill for hash browns, pancakes, etc. I had eggs Benedict (with GF toast) and hash browns that were outstanding and didn’t get sick. Highly recommend!

The food here was so delicious and our server was very knowledgeable and supportive when I communicated that I have celiac disease (apparently she has siblings with celiac). I had not eaten hash browns at a restaurant since before my celiac disease diagnosis over a year ago - and they were phenomenal! I live in Portland but will definitely be traveling to Florence area again soon to eat at this restaurant.

Such a wonderful experience today! The owner was our server and advised they do all gluten free items on a separate grill! GF items are clearly marked on the menu. I got corned beef hash and a pancake (which was huge!) The pancake was the best I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to come back here!

Not a lot of lunch options outside of salads and clam chowder. However, service was outstanding and they are very careful about cross contamination.

Gluten free pancakes, toast, eggs, etc! Separate griddle for GF. The pancakes are amazing and huge! My daughter got a chocolate chip one, a blueberry one and scrambled eggs and it was so much food!

My husband is celiac and had chili covered hash browns with gluten free toast, bacon, sausage and a huge pancake. The food was amazing. We ate here with 4 other non celiacs and they all enjoyed their food and drinks.

The Little Brown Hen Cafe is the most incredible restaurant I’ve ever stumbled upon. Not often do you find gluten free accommodations at comfort food cafes, but it’s clear this mom and pop shop puts an astounding amount of effort into creating a welcoming space full of comfort food for everyone. They have easily the best gluten free pancakes I’ve ever tried, and everything is made completely from scratch. I can’t wait to go back!

I have eaten here three times now and not gotten sick once. They listen and keep bread away from my meal.
They are very careful about cross-contamination here.
The food is wonderful every time and they are happy to answer any questions about their gluten free options and their cross-contamination prevention measures.

Excellent breakfast. We went on a Sunday, after church and they offer the BIGGEST plate-sized gluten free pancake we have ever seen. My 9 yo gave it a big thumbs up! Lots of options from scrambles to omelets. GF toast was good especially with homemade jam! Great find! Cash or check only so be prepared. They have an ATM inside for convenience.

Always enjoy our Brown Hen breakfasts in Florence! Love having options!!!
Excellent service. The items that are gluten free are labeled on the menu and the waiter was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The Cobb salad was delicious!
The gluten free bun was amazing! Had the El pollo, left off the cheese and sour cream because also allergic to dairy, didn't matter! Everyone's food looked amazing. Cash only, so remember that.
This place is a usual stop for us, their food is amazing! A lot of items are naturally GF (breakfast items with amazing sandwiches that can be made on GF bread). The staff is knowledgeable and accommodating. don't miss this place!
