Went here for a family get together because of their high ratings. The waiter seemed annoyed when I explained my allergies, and I woke up incredibly sick, do not recommend!

We had never eaten in a Longhorn before but it was next to where we were staying so we gave it a try
I checked the menu online before our visit and I found they have a gf menu and an excellent allergy grid. When we arrived I asked for the allergy list ( it is too small/detailed to read on a phone) but our greater did not know what I was talking about but a more experienced member of staff soon brought the tablet.
I am gf and also dairy free. All vegetables except potatoes and sweet potatoes contain dairy because they put butter on them. Our server said I could have veggies without butter. This always concerns me in case they forget - butter on veggies, in my opinion, is completely unnecessary
The food was good (and safe for me)

It is so good . I love it so much and my sister who is Gluten Sensitive loves it to
good choices.no special foods but satisfying.
Great food and the kitchen staff was knowledgeable of celiacs and gluten allergies. They also have a dedicated French fry frier.
Updated for 2024: I’ve eaten here a couple times, usually when I’m visiting town, I’ve never gotten sick. Just be up front with your celiac status and the waiters will help you.

We often eat at Longhorn when we travel as they seem to do a couple meals well GF when you and wcplain why. It takes a little longer but i have never gotten sick there. That may not be true for all locations we found out. Our waiter was very nice and was unsure the answer to a few of our question. In our home state once they know you are Celiac not just eating GF the chef comes to the table to ensure he has your order and your meal comes out with a "toothpick" type thing denoting it's yours. None of that happene here. My husband ordered the same as I did and they both came out without the the "toothpick" he asked how they knew which was which and the staff person replied "what, they are the same" then after he explained why he asked, he told us they must have cooked both meals special. We explained to him we were concerned and he said he was sure they were fine .

I ordered a steak, dry baked potato, and garden salad without croutons, without cheese and without bacon! I brought my own violife cheese substitute and a dollop of smart balance margarine to put on my potato. The staff were accommodating and helpful in making sure things were kept as safe as possible! I did NOT get sick!
