I’d stay away from the chips but I order carne asada tacos with rice and beans and never have a problem! The house salad is really good too!

The employee working told me the chips were gluten free because they are corn chips, however they are fried in a shared fryer with the breaded fish. I’ve been here several times and asked if they were in a shared fryer and was always told no they are not in a shared fryer. Each time I had a reaction and wasn’t sure why. Other entres are gluten free but it’s hard to trust when the staff has given me incorrect information about cross contamination. I love the food here but it is disappointing that I can’t be confident that the food will be safe for me. (This happened at the Milpas location, I am unsure if it is the same at the other locations)

Excellent gluten free options. There meat is NOT marinated in soy sauce! They have excellent fish, beef and chicken options. Chips are all corn.

No gluten free / celiac friendly. For at least 3 times, I was told chips were gluten free. My SO (who is celiac( had stomach problems, but we weren't sure of the cause. Just went now and was told chips were not gluten free. Would stay away.

After being told the opposite the last two times, I was just informed that the chips are made in contaminated oil. That explains why I've gotten sick every time I've been here, which I thought was cross contamination. I won't go again. Staff appears to be confident and knowledgable about gluten, but they cannot be trusted.

Per the manager, all meat is marinated with soy sauce as an ingredient. The chef told me that I couldn't have the salmon because it had cilantro (seriously).

I advised them when I ordered. They said no problem. After we paid and waited 15 minutes they came over & said everything is contaminated & nothing is safe because they make their own tortillas & mix everything together in the kitchen. I could not eat here but family members had already ordered their food too. Total waste of time. We will NEVER return.

Casual dining with a sit down feel. Ordered at the register, staff knowledgeable about Celiac/gluten free; advised which items were safe. Warned food isn't guaranteed free from cross-contamination, but they're careful. Food was delivered to table and was amazing! Sat outside on patio and enjoyed the sunshine.
Amazing authentic Mexican food. They were receptive to my requests for gluten free. I am not very sensitive as far as cross contamination even though I have celiac, so I can't speak in depth to that, but the food here was unbelievable. And you get a lot of food for the price.
Super sick just after eating here.
They talked a great game about gf options and cross contamination.

Stay away from tortilla chips and fried shells. My go to order is house salad and steak tacos with a soft corn tortilla! Haven’t had any issues with this order. **If you order the beans make sure you request no fried cup and ask for it in a bowl.

Ordered a Cesar salad with salmon, no croutons - I was very clear about being celiac. Half way through my salad I discovered a crouton. This place is so unsafe for celiacs. I won’t eat anything there again.

They told me their chips have wheat flour and so do their taco shells. Not much to eat here other than salad with topping.
Tonight was my 5th visit to Los Agaves and the first 4 times I had no issues. But tonight I went for Taco Tuesday and paid the price big time. I ordered the steak and the carnitas tacos and rice and beans and felt the headache, stomach revenge and over all body revolt before I even made it home. All I can say is thank god for activated charcoal! Not sure what it could have been, but I am sad to have to give up on a place that had such potential. Nothing is worth this kind of misery.
