The waiter was well informed about gluten free. Ask for gluten free and they will help you to find the right meal.

They have a small gluten free menu when you ask for it. The hostess warned me that anything fried in the shared deep fryer (corn chips, botana, nachos) would be contaminated, but other dishes that are prepared on their own plates (enchiladas, corn tacos or fajitas) are seemingly okay!
I am not celiac, but very sensitive. I do eat the chips here (not a dedicated fryer), but order very carefully to avoid gluten and dairy, and have never had a problem. I often get a meat tostada and some guac, but not in the flour tortilla bowl. (sometimes, I will put a bag of my tortilla chips from home in my purse, so I don't have the exposure to the fryer, and this change might make it celiac friendly) But - I will go to Los Galanes as often as I can, most of my non-GF friends love the food and the variety. ...not just your typical Mexican, some seafood and some very traditional dishes.
