Great atmosphere with knowledgeable staff. The manager brings out all allergy orders to avoid any mixups. The gf bun was nice and soft too!
My favorite place to go in Gulf Shores! There are plenty of GF options. They had the manager take my order and serve it. Food is good and the ambience is fun! No ill effects.
We had a great experience. I had no reaction. The waitress and servers were very knowledgeable. Great live music , just a little loud.

Great food and they go above and beyond for gluten allergies. They prepare in a different part of the kitchen and a manager delivers the gluten free food order, separate from the rest of our food. I had the jerk chicken sandwich, yellow cuban rice, and a side salad.
Large gluten free menu. As soon as the waiter went to the service counter, he shouted “allergy” to alert the cook. The server confirmed each order as allergy and non-allergy, as he brought it to the table. They even had grilled chicken tenders for the kids, which I rarely see anywhere. Neither my son, nor I got sick. Unfortunatelt, I did not see Fries on the gluten free menu, which my son misses a lot. Also a very fun atmosphere, on the water, with lots to do outside to keep you occupied while you wait to be seated.
Lulu’s takes your allergies seriously. They have a manager come to your table so you can explain your food allergy. The manager watches the kitchen staff prepare your food & personally brings it to you. I have hashimoto’s and do not have to be as careful as someone with celiac disease.
This place had an amazing allergy menu….and they sent a separate allergy specialist waitress to take my order while the regular waitress took my friend’s order. Say WHAT? Udi’s bun, but they toasted it to make it better. The grouper sandwich was SO good.
Felt very comfortable ordering. Knowledge staff. They have a separate allergen menu(decent # of options). My order of fish tacos came separately from the rest of my party and was flagged. Food was delicious.
I’m gluten and dairy free due to breastfeeding my daughter. LuLu’s has been one of the ONLY places we have found locally that has such a great allergen menu. Confirm what I read in other reviews… a manager came out to take my order separate, they said that food was prepared in separate area, with dedicated fryer. I got the smoked tuna dip with Gf chips, which was great. Also got the pulled pork sandwich on Gf bun with coleslaw and fresh fruit (instead of fries, as they are basted in flour).
This place is incredible! Has been a favorite of mine since they started in 1999. 3/4 of our family found out we are celiac in 2020, and I found out Lulu’s was good for those with celiac. This has been our favorite restaurant since then. They have a manager come out and take the order, take extreme precautions throughout the process, and then the manager delivers the food with gloves on. They have many great GF options. Our favorites are the shrimp nachos, shrimp or fish tacos, and the grouper/shrimp combo. Several of us are symptomatic, even with cross contamination, have eaten here multiple times, and have never had an issue.
Wonderful is all I can say ask for the gluten free menu so many options and you get a different waiter that takes your order and they deliver your food the smoked tuna dip was amazing food and service was great
They have a gluten free menu. The manager takes your order from the menu and they try to follow a gluten free protocol. They do not have a dedicated frier. I had a hamburger on a gluten-free bun. For the side I had chips with quacomole. The food was tasty. The service and wait time was a little slow but it is a busy restaurant. . I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Really enjoyed my food here. They have GF protocols in place, for example, GF orders are placed with a manager. I was told GF food is prepared in a separate area. I had a pulled pork sandwich with a GF bun. It was very tasty and I felt that there was care taken with the preparation of GF meals. Everything was great with the exception of the wait time, but I enjoyed my experience for sure.
Absolutely amazing! The server explained what I could and couldn’t have, went over the gf menu then the manager came out to take our order both manager and waitress wrote it down and repeated it back. The manager brings out the allergy food separately and they have a separate kitchen area for all allergy food. The bun on the hamburger was so good I second guessed if it was gf and had my husband pinch off a bite to try lol
They had so many options for gf and other allergies, I havnt been to a place this amazing and educated since being diagnosed!
Love this place! Has a great atmosphere with live music and very friendly staff. There were lots of options on the allergen menu, and the manager came out to take our orders so they were prepared separately and carefully. We got the chips and guac, and I got a burger. It was great, will definitely be back!
Lulu’s is a must go-to restaurant every time we’re in town. They have an allergen menu, with each allergen having its own page. The manager comes out to take your order for those who are gluten free or who have an allergy while the rest of your table’s orders is taken by your server. We’ve been here about 4 times over the past 2 years and have never gotten sick.
First I have to say that they are definitely careful about giving you a truly gluten free experience. The manager came and took my order and then came back and brought my food. Another waiter took the orders for my family who aren’t GF. My biggest complaint is that all of their food is grilled or blackened, no fried foods. I know it’s not the healthiest, but I don’t like grilled fish (I actually don’t like fish anyway so the fried batter makes it more appetizing). I’m a picky eater too so that didn’t help. And even when I decided on a salad, their ranch dressing has gluten in it so I couldn’t even have that. I settled on a burger with a GF bun and it was good but that’s what I eat at most places because of the limited choices so that’s not what I actually wanted here. Overall, I would go back and would recommend it as a safe place to eat.
They said they have a dedicated prep space for each allergy menu. The manager takes your order and brings it out to you to prevent cross contamination. Probably the best restaurant within a few hour radius in terms of safety.
The best GF experience I ever had ever had with a restaurant. Their GF menu was extensive & to ensure that the food is truly safe, the manager takes the order & delivers the food to the table.
We stopped for lunch on our vacation in Gulf Shores Alabama. They have a separate menu dedicated to allergies. Each allergy has its own page and the menu is so easy to read! A manager came and took my order. The food was prepared in designated fryers and everything was safe!
Great experience I am gluten and dairy free and I got the rice bowl with some altercations with a side of veggies it was delicious. The manager came to take my order and to help me figure out what I can eat. 10/10!
Always extremely pleased at Lulus! They have a HUGE allergy menu with 2 pages of gluten free choices. When you tell your server you have an allergy/celiac, the manager is immediately involved. The manager takes the order, and brings out all the food for the person with the allergy! We have eaten here multiple times and my sensitive celiac daughter has never had issues! 10/10 recommend!
They were so extremely accommodating! The manager, Steven, took my order and they made everything in a separate part of the kitchen. I have never had such a good experience at a restaurant with my allergy before and I definitely recommend you try it out! I had the Key West Bowl with no greens and the lime sauce.
They have allergy menus and if you have an allergy, a manager takes your order and brings it out to you. Good was good & I did not get sick. Wait to get seated was forever, but that’s for everyone, and GF restaurant options are limited here sadly.

Great place for the whole family they have many allergy friends meals and even have their own menu.
This place is very Celiac friendly! They had a gluten free bun for the burgers, safe nachos, and use a dedicated fryer for fries. Both the server and manager also said they have a completely separate section of the kitchen dedicated to food allergies to avoid cross contamination. Theanager delivered the GF meal to ensure everything was correct and went to the correct person without contamination on the way. We were very impressed!
The wait is long but they do have several GF options. Recommend lots of activities to pass the time.

Delicious food, awesome staff, gluten free menu. Fries are fried in the same oil as other food, but chips are fried in a separate fryer! I got the blacken fish tacos and they were amazing! Manager comes by and flags your food that you have an allergy.
Lulu’s was awesome. They have a dedicated menu for any and all allergies. They also cook everything in a separate kitchen. The manager took my order himself and brought my food out to make sure it was not cross contaminated. The food was also great and they have a variety of options to choose from! Definitely recommend!!
My daughter has celiac. Lulus did an excellent job with cross contamination. They use separate allergy cards to take the specific allergen order (gluten, egg, dairy, fish) than the rest of the tables order ticket. Lots of options for her and a lot of fun. Highly recommended.

*PLEASE READ* They were wonderful with attention to detail at first, they brought a GF menu, the manager came to get my order, and sent my order to the kitchen. I ordered shrimp tacos with corn tortillas. The same manager brought my food out with gloves and was very careful stating that the tortilla chips were GF as well. !!Upon beginning to eat the tacos, I thought they tasted too good to be GF and they had fish instead of shrimp but both were GF so I just assumed they only messed up the fish. I even had my husband taste the tortillas and we assumed they were just really good Gf tortillas. I had eaten 2 whole tacos and a different manager come out with my CORRECT ORDER! She apologized and I didn’t have to pay for my meal, and the other manager came to apologize as well. I still rate them high because they have a separate allergy menu and appeared to have great attention to detail in the beginning. However, a mistake happened and I did get sick from the mistake. I would try them again, I just caution you to verify that what they bring you is in fact GF!
So impressed with this restaurant! Not only do they have a FULL allergen friendly menu, but they have their manager take your order and a separate section of the kitchen dedicated to preparing your meal.
Manager came out himself and brought my wife her food himself very good service and they take it very seriously would definitely recommend to anyone with celiac
Great experience in a great setting overlooking the canal! The manager saw we had the allergen menu and used red slips to inquire specifically what the kitchen needed to know to accommodate our dietary concerns.
I appreciate the attention to detail and the fact that their tortilla chips are made in a dedicated fryer—and weren’t greasy! Best tasting tortilla chips I’ve ever had. The guacamole was good, too, if perhaps heavy on the garlic for my liking, but I’d get it again just for the chips
The peel-and-eat shrimp with cocktail sauce was also a filling starter.
I could have stopped there between the two starters, but the tacos sounded good, and as good as the shrimp appetizer was, the grilled shrimp tacos were even more flavorful.
Maybe it was the good mood I was in on such a breezy temperate afternoon on the water, but I swear the soft corn tortillas are also the best I’ve had lately, if ever. So were the side of black beans.
My fellow GF dining companion had a Key West bowl with grilled grouper, collards, yellow rice, and beans, plus WOW (horseradish sauce) and ginger sauce.
Overall impression was positive, utterly enjoyable and filling. You won’t walk away hungry, and if you have little ones, there’s plenty to keep them entertained between the boats traveling through the canal, pelicans and herons soaring by, fish bobbing to the surface feet away, a contained sandy area for them to run around in, and even arcade for older kids.
AMAZING!! I asked the hostess for a GF menu and they have a whole separate menu for all allergies not just Gluten. When our waitress came to our table she saw the menu and asked if I had an allergy or preference and when I said allergy she got her manager to take my order. They then wrote it on a red slip of paper so it wouldn’t be missed in the kitchen. This is the most comfortable I have been eating out since finding out I had a gluten allergy. I live an hour away and will be going back just to eat here.
Wonderful! A manager takes all allergy orders, including gluten free. They have a separate area in the kitchen for gluten free orders. We shared gluten free pulled pork nachos for an appetizer. I had a great burger on a gluten free bun for dinner. The vibe was fun, the music great! It's on the river so boats and barges are always going by. Our server said there are sometimes dolphins in the evenings! Five stars!
Lulus goes the extra mile by having a gluten free menu (which also includes sections for many other allergies). As many others have said, although the server initially took my order, a manager verified it and checked on it to insure proper preparation before delivering it to the table. The food was good, and I felt pretty confident that my needs were taken care of.
Gluten free menu with a great many options! I received great service with a personal touch! The manager came and took my order on a special allergy Order ticket! Then the same person delivered my food that was marked as allergy also with color toothpicks! Very knowledgeable! They have a dedicated gluten free kitchen which is amazing! Full and busy but they still took their time and made sure all was safe! We had a great meal and experience as a whole! I highly suggest this unique destination! Great job Lulu’s!!
We had a fantastic experience for our daughter with celiac. There is a separate gluten free menu with a lot of great options! A manager came to take my daughter’s order and her food was prepared in a separate kitchen then delivered to our table by the manager.
