GF items are plentiful and clearly marked on their menu. Food is fresh and delicious and there are healthy options. I wish I lived closer to one. I'm also allergic to dairy and there are still some great options for me. Yay Lyfe Kitchen!
Celiac. Have eaten gf here at least a dozen times and never had a problem. I do tell them I have celiac disease. They are happy to take extra precautions.
They have a really great gf selection. There gf burger buns are to die for! They have options for everyone and I never get tired of eating there. It's great for all ages.
There are several gf selections, they ask if you have an allergy so they can specify that to the kitchen. I had the Italian flat bread chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries, and corn chowder. All was delicious! And I shared since it was enough for two people. Also, must try their Hibiscus Beet water, it is Awesome!
Love most all GF selections on their menu. I have never had a reaction from eating here.
Salmon to die for!
Not a gluten free menu but they list allergens and can make a gluten free burger with bun as well as other selections that are gluten free. I mentioned Celiac disease and not to cross contaminate and she made it clear on my ticket. I'll update if I have any issues from food ordered but so far all is good.
I got the margherita flatbread and my sister got the chicken sandwich on a GF bun. The flatbread (which is basically a margherita pizza was absolutely delicious - chewy, flavorful, and crisp on the edges. The bread on the chicken sandwich was pretty crumbly but she said every other part of the sandwich was delicious. Prices weren’t toooo bad considering it’s Chicago and our food was ready really quickly. Also, neither one of us got sick afterwards. Highly recommend!
Delicious food, great staff. They had gluten free cookies! They put the GF cookies on the top tray, so no crumbs from regular cookies would fall on the GF cookies. We got the buffalo cauliflower tacos and baked sweet potato fries - both were amazing!
Though the menu seems limited as to what is listed as GF, be sure to ask about other options as they have gf buns and other items that can be made GF. Staff was knowledge about not just gluten free but the importance for those with us who have celiac, this sint a tad diner. The building was open, bright and clean, bonus in my book. We had Kendra as our server, she was not only at the height of professionalism but such a delight to talk with about any but the restaurant. Every patron seemed happy and engaged with their servers on a more personal level as well, perhaps because this was center of historical tour areas, but regardless of motivation, they are a great example of what good customer interfacing employees should be. Highly recommended, the food was not only pleasing to the eyes, but our taste buds as well. And while I'm not a vegetarian, I ordered a fabulous vegetarian taco plate that left me full (but secretly wishing I had more room, it was so good!)
Great menu options and my child with celiac loved her burger! They seemed to take proper precautions. They had gf cookies that are prepared separately. My only question was the tongs used to get them as I didn't ask if they used them on the non gf cookies. Otherwise, great place to go.
Terrible. We made sure to inform the employee taking our order that we had Celiac and could not consume gluten. They confirmed that the children’s pasta could be made gluten-free. Another server brought the food to the table and the pasta looked like regular pasta so again I asked if it was GF. The server said it was, and my children begin to eat. A few minutes later, another employee came running out from the kitchen to let us know that it was not GF pasta. My children began crying because they know the effects that gluten has on their body. No one apologized, they just offered to bring us a bowl of Asian-style thin rice noodles instead. I’m not sure how three different employees were unable to catch this mistake at a restaurant claiming to be exceptionally GF friendly.
Fantastic experience overall; the GM Justin was SUPER helpful/knowledgeable/and friendly. I was lucky he was behind the bar. Only one (VERY) minor complaint, which was rectified with a quick phone call; we ordered two sandwiches on GF, and they came made with two tops and two bottoms. Obviously not a problem in and of itself, I just had to clarify we didn't have two types of bun. I will definitely eat here again next time in Memphis. Thanks, Justin!
Got a gluten free meal, but felt gluten side effects about an hour after leaving.
Always a pleasure to eat here. Feel very safe. The tacos were delicious. Food was delivered by someone who confirmed the gluten free status.
My experience was marginal. I ordered abbot on gf bread it came with two pieces of bacon, two pieces of very thin sliced deli turkey two tomatoes with a smattering of lettuce I was really disappointed it was like a giant piece of bread with hardly any filling. They use udis bread in case you're wondering.
Menu has GF selections noted for easy decisions. The staff is knowledgeable and offered me a sample of delicious corn chowder before I ordered it. The salmon was tasty. They have soft GF cookies and delicious drinks. As a Celiac, my taste buds were tickled! Great customer service, great food, and ambiance.
Great choice of GF items on the menu. Also like the attention to quality ingredients and good nutrition. October 2017, no separate GF menu. Menu has a number of items marked GF. No GF bread was offered for sandwiches- boo! All flatbreads use GF flatbread though. Feel that there is not as much choice now.
Unbelievably I was served and ate a sandwich on a regular sandwich roll not the gluten free as ordered. I always reiterate my order is for a "gluten allergy" so wherever the mistake happened, whomever entered it or prepared my order is an awful employee. Managers were all alerted after the fact, they apologized but nothing to make up for their serious mistake.
The staff was very knowledgable and helpful to ensure a GF experience. They notified the cook to avoid cross contamination. Much of their menu is GF and plenty of selection. Would recommend this casual spot for those suffering from celiac disease.
Lyfe Kitchen was a lyfe saver during our family weekend vacation to Chicago. Our son was recently diagnosed as celiac and this was our first vacation where he had to eat out 100% of the time. We stayed at the nearby Doubletree and were pleasantly surprised that the Lyfe kitchen was a block away. Our son ate two meals here both were delicious and 100% GF he had no symptoms after eating here. I would say it was a little pricey for the entire family but I really didn't care since he felt great after eating both meals.
Very knowledgeable and accommodating. In addition to Celiac Disease, I have multiple food allergies. They were happy to help me figure out which dishes could work for me with some changes. Tasty and healthy food! No negative food reactions at all!
Daughter has celiac. Spoke with manager and was assured no issue. She knew right away what celiac was. Red flag went up when food delivered to our table as all meals were on the same tray. My daughter really enjoyed her meal but paid for it for two days after as meal had gluten contamination.
Menu items clearly marked & several choices. Had BAKED sweet potato fries-yummy & did not gave to worry about oil cross contamination. Also BBQ chicken flatbread was yummy. It is listed as a shareable & was sufficient food for us but could also be entree if you want it yourself
