The waitress we had has celiac herself so she was very knowledgeable and honest. My son got a steak and my other son got GF pasta. They were very nice and accommodating but also were realistic about the fact that it’s not a separate kitchen

Cross-contamination can definitely be an issue here. Make sure to ask all the right questions.

They have a decent gluten free menu. My bf & I shared the red snapper which came w asparagus, sweet potato mash, & pick de gallo w avocado. Portion size was large & it was delicious. I did not get sick but I am not celiac, just have an intolerance.

I will never go back. They have a gluten free menu but it clearly says on the top both the grill and fryer are not gluten free. I purposely stayed away from items using the grill and fryer, opting for a pasta dish. Before we left the table, I was horrible I'll. Not a little cross contamination I'll, very I'll. I estimated the amount of the check, threw cash on the table and ran out. On a non celiac note it was incredibly loud, the service was slow, and our waitress spoke little English. The latter is really useful when it is also incredibly loud.

Although the gluten free menu has a lot of options, many of them are not truly safe for Celiacs. For example, they list quite a few fried items but then say they don't use a separate GF fryer. I ordered a Gf pizza thinking that would be safe, but I was wrong. It was definitely contaminated somehow and now I've been sick for a few days already. I would not recommend this place to Celiacs.

Very nice place. They cook the pasta in a separate pot of water. Only downside is on the menu it states they can't guarantee the food is 100% safe because it is not a dedicated gf kitchen. Also, they offer loaded fries on the gf menu yet it says they don't have a dedicated fryer on the menu.... I got pasta tho and I didn't get sick and the waitress seemed very knowledgeable. I will definitely be coming back.

I called to verify GF options. The girl who answered assured me that they did but when I asked about a dedicated fryer, she was stumped and would not find someone who could help.

This restaurant had a great gluten free menu with many choices, including gluten free dinner rolls. I highly recommend it.

Not good for celiacs. They have gf chicken tenders on kid menu, but it is fried in common fryer, so no longer Gf. Also French fries are contaminated. Misleading, but we were able to get a kid burger on Gf bread with a side salad.

Honestly the absolute best bacon I've ever had in my life. I had the Big Batter and it came with gluten free toast, the entire meal was insanely delicious and all of my friends loved it!!!

Not Celiac friendly. We got contradictory information. The host said the kitchen prepped GF food on the same surfaces and equipment as non-GF food, and we appreciated the transparency. But our waitress said she had Celiac's, was sensitive, ate there, and mostly had no issues. That made no sense to us. We were nervous so left instead of ordering. Can't comment on food quality or service, but I wouldn't suggest for Celiacs.

this location has an entire menu dedicated to gluten free (breakfast, lunch, dinner, even a dessert!) - so grateful to be on vacation and not feel ill the rest of the weekend after eating beach food- gluten free & celiac friendly, even our waitress had celiac and spent extra time going over the menu with me! A little costly for a small pizza, but did not mind since I was so happy I finally had options.

A great find for our vacation! Had dinner and going back to try breakfast....said they have a separate toaster for GF toast. Celiac daughter had a homemade pasta w/ garlic cream sauce....huge portion for leftovers. Upcharge for GF dinner roll, but worth it. Fresh squeezed lemonade very refreshing and tart. Waitress has celiac also and was very accommodating and helpful, even made sure to put regular bread basket away from my daughter on the table. My non-GF red snapper entrée was delicious and perfectly cooked. There is a separate GF menu, very extensive choices.

Awful. My brother and I both ordered gf burgers and I think they gave us regular buns because we are both sick!! It was a busy night and I think someone made a mistake but a costly one for us. NEVER AGAIN. Food is mediocre at best and way too expensive.

Yummy chicken Waldorf salad on a gluten free bun. About half the size (and $2 more) than my husband's non-gf chicken Waldorf salad on a croissant, though.

Love this place! My waitress actually had celiacs herself so I felt extra comfortable ordering. They have freshly made gluten free pasta now, a change this year, and fresh hot crusty delicious GF rolls!!!! So good and also a GF chocolate lava cake desert with bourbon ice cream. This is my second visit and I will return! Recommend for sure

Absolutely Delicious! My boyfriend and I ate here for breakfast. I'm gf and he's not, but the selection was great for both of us. I had Eggs Benedict on gf toast. I sub'd fruit for hash browns since earlier posts said to avoid hash browns bc they may be fried with gluten items. I am extremely sensitive to gluten, but I am pleased to report I did not get sick and I truly enjoyed breakfast. I highly recommend this restaurant!

We stayed for a weekend at the Carroll Villa, so we had vouchers toward breakfast each day at The Mad Batter. We had two successful breakfasts from the gluten free menu, though we were sure to get there early before the busy rush. On the first day, the server told us our daughter shouldn't eat the home fries because they were fried with other things. We were grateful for the warning, but a little confused that they were offered on the "gluten free" menu if this were really the case. Anyway, eggs, bacon, GF toast and the fruit plate (very good size and selection) worked out well for us. No issues.

Seemed like my wife had some cross contamination from her meal. GI system wasn't too happy after eating. Had GF Chowder and GF Tuscan Shrimp Pasta. It was the last order of the night so perhaps their care and guard was down.

More choices than most on the gluten free menu. Waiter was accommodating to both my gluten and dairy intolerances, and food was great. My husband also enjoyed his breakfast from the regular menu. Will be returning to try lunch/dinner.

Very good GF menu. My husband and I split a fish sandwich on a GF roll. It was so fresh and tasty, which is always a nice surprise for GF bread! I wish we could have had the fries, but not GF free. They substitued a salad with no charge. no symptoms of illness after. I wish I had time to go back for so many other GF options!

The GF black bean pie (taco dish) dish was horrible. It was like eating dry air. And it was $29 dollars (with shrimp) I sent it back. Then I got a GF pizza with mushroom and assorted cheeses. Which was better than the black bean pie (taco dish) but not nearly as good as the many gluten free frozen pizzas I buy for myself at stores. I don't recommend going here. It is very over priced and not good. Also my date got a dish that they were also very unsatisfied with.

Finally a restaurant with many gf options for breakfast lunch and dinner and not just chicken. Adorable place, food is excellent, on a street in Cape May with the victorian house. Everything is perfect.
