I ordered my Chicken Romano to be gluten free. The Sous chef came out and when I asked if that dish could be made gluten free he said yes. The dish came and had no Parmesan or any type of breading, just a piece of grilled chicken. Why wouldn’t the chef tell me that the chicken would be absolutely plain? I would have ordered something else!

I would not recommend this establishment for take-out. The person taking my order seemed unaware of gluten containing ingredients for pasta dishes (does the sausage contain gluten? I still don't know!) When we went to pick up our meals, we found that my gluten free meal was actually standard pasta- and with the wrong sauce. Without apology, they "corrected" the dish - again with standard pasta. Finally, after 45 minutes of waiting on the correct gluten free meal, we were given a bag full of (gluten containing) bread as an apology ("to apologize").

Just okay. I ordered a pasta alfredo dish and the pasta was quite limp and honestly a bit bland. I used to eat here before I went gluten free and the regular menu is much better than the GF one. Just not impressed with them.

I'm corn free as well as gluten free, so my options are even more limited. The chef comes out and talks through the menu with you. (The first chef was amazing, the second time, the chef spoke little English but understood my issues and his ingredients, so it was fine). All of their sauces are GF, so you do have lots of options. If you can eat the corn pasta, you pay the same price as normal eaters for the classic pasta dishes and get to take one home as well. This is the only restaurant I've been to in a long time that I have had no adverse effects after eating. They understand our needs and do a great job of accommodating!

horrible experience. no gluten free menu, chef comes out and talks to you but my pasta was from a box, i expected homemade, not one i could buy in the store. Chicken was ok..i can do better at home.. nothing to make me want to go back there. There are so many wonderful restuarants to choose from that i choose not to go back to one that was bad.

I have had only excellent experiences here. Always get to speak directly to the chef about my needs. Food is delicious and and I love that they have GF pasta (corn, last I checked). While I've really enjoyed everything I've had here, I would really like to see them expand their options. They only have one type of GF noodle so you can't really have things like spaghetti, angel hair, or varying types of noodles. It's always the same type of pasta, no matter what type the original dish would usually have had. Also not sure why they chose corn pasta since most GF people I know tend to prefer brown rice pasta. Oh well. All-in-all, I don't shy away from going here -- it's just not at the very top of my list since other places around have more options.

The waiter was great! The restaurant boasts that they are allergen friendly, but then the chef refused to alter my meal. The waiter and manager tried repeatedly to get me to order another item which I couldn't do because it was the only item that met all my allergy needs with only one (gluten) alteration needed. After I restated my specific needs over and over again the manager finally made my meal herself. We ended up waiting quite a long time and were made to feel pretty lousy about the whole thing. It was a let down and a waste of time for us. Don't go to this restaurant if you want to eat without a hassle.

I had been kind of worried about going to a Maggiano's because of the reviews but our usual Italian place lost power so we decided to try it. I felt really good about the fact that the staff knew the protocol, from the hostess to the waiter and chef. To be safe I went for a non pasta dish and ordered the filet and risotto which was delicious! I didn't have any issues and I can usually tell pretty quickly after starting to eat. I had a good experience.

Did not have the same sparkling experience here as the other review. Yes, they can put GF penne in most pasta dishes. But our server gave me no further information about what was safe to eat, and there is no GF menu. I was not offered a visit from the chef. Basically, “we have GF penne, ready to order?” Actually, in general, the service was really bad. Disappointing and would not return to this location.

Staff are knowledgeable and there were a lot of gluten free options. Not marked on the menu, but communicate with your waiter and they will help you customize your meal. Everything is made to order and it is super easy to modify dishes. The gnocchi can not be made gf because they are coated in flour, but other then that they have tons of options. They do have gf pasta and starter chips, in place of bread.

She then offered to have the chef to come out to our table. I had seen this on another review on here, but it really happened. The executive chef, yes one listed on their website for this location, came out and explained everything. He said all but the ravioli and lasagne could be made for me and all sauces were gluten free as well. He took my part of our order himself with notes on the ticket, then waitress came back to take remainder of party. He was very patient and respectful of my needs. We’ve been frequent visitors of Maggianos for a few years now. My mom and I both have gluten and dairy allergies. Usually this is a tall order, but since the restaurant makes from scratch food in the back and the chefs are extremely knowledgeable and accommodating it’s such an amazing experience. They offer gluten and dairy free pasta and biscuits! The chef always comes out to talk with us about what we want and how he can accommodate those meals to our allergies. This gives us so many choices and it’s affordable to boot! We are there yesterday and I’m sure we’ll be back soon! I can’t say enough good things about eating at Maggianos!

I was also given a side of gf pasta. It came out hard. They made me a new one. It was cooked more but still quite ale dente so I didn’t really eat very much. The waiter offered me a free crepe brûlée for being so patient. (I didn’t mention the pasta second time). The Creme Brûlée was wonderful! I unfortunately have Celiac disease, so finding safe restaurants can be a challenge. Maggiano's has always prided itself on being extremely careful with cross contamination and has numerous gluten free options. Last Friday (5/25/18) I went out do dinner with my family at this location, which we have done about 10 times in the past year. I didn't finish my meal (GF ziti) so I had the server put it in a take home box. Several days later I went to eat my left overs and found a piece of regular spaghetti in it. For those who haven't eaten at Maggiano's and gotten GF pasta, they only have one type of GF pasta and it isn't spaghetti. This is the SECOND time this has happened at this location in the past 6 months. The previous time the chef and manager came out and really bent over backwards to apologize and told me it was a new employee, etc. They assured me that this would not happen again and that the problem has been corrected. Well now that this has happened again I see that the problem is now a pattern. My family and I really love this restaurant but it just isn't safe. As much as it saddens me I would highly recommend that anyone with a serious gluten allergy or someone with Celiac disease avoid eating at this particular location.

The first time I ate here was fine. The second time they were out of GF rolls so they asked if they could comp by sending me an additional pasta home. I thought that was great and ordered the veggie penne with GF noodles (obvs). Well they sent me home with WHEAT pasta!!!! I ate 1/4 of the dish before realizing something was wrong. The noodles looked exactly the same as the GF option except orange, and the texture was softer. I became extremely ill that night and the entire next day. My boyfriend ate the rest of the dish and confirmed it was exactly the same as what he has eaten at the restaurant (ie wheat noodles). I'm not sure if I want to eat here again. GF control is pretty good for dining in, but I'll never do take out again. The gluten free rolls are awful, imo and not worth the calories. They could buy any brand of rolls literally anywhere and they would taste better. Not sure why they haven't caught on yet... they also take FOREVER to come out even though they supposedly start them as soon as you sit down.

I ordered a caprese salad and entree after the chef came out and spoke with me about how they could accommodate someone with celiac. The caprese salad came back cross contaminated after using my Nima gluten sensor but the entree was safe and tested gluten free. They stated the salads are prepared around other gluten ingredients and the entree was separate so my review is great for the entree and poor for my salad. I'll go again but am not totally confident it's celiac friendly so I'll bring my gluten tester to be sure. The staff seemed to really care and take interest in making the accommodations as well which made me feel comfortable.

Feel like I probably could have made better at home, but maybe this was because I got it to go. Maybe it would have been better if we ate there? Staff was very nice. Knew the GF menu.
