Had the most severe glutening experience of my life after eating here last weekend. After reviewing photos of dishes online, it appears they served me regular pasta instead of GF, despite it being ordered GF and marked GF on the ticket. Probably a fluke but be very, very wary. I will never return.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They had GF pasta. They told me to order anything from the menu and they’d make it GF. I got the chicken Francese, which, after making it GF, was just very thin chicken breast with a side of mash. Honestly though, it was delicious and I appreciated the effort.
Excellent service. Our waiter, Lewis, was very knowledgable about gluten-free aspects on the menu. All their pasta dishes can be subbed GF pasta. Sous Chef Edson came out to personally speak with me and make sure he understood my dietary needs. A really positive experience! I had the Rigatoni Arrabbiata with GF pasta - so good. Chef Edson also made us calamari but grilled instead of fried, and it was delicious. For my birthday, Lewis brought out a complimentary dish of vanilla ice cream (nornally they do cookies for special occasions.) We definitely plan to return especially since they have GF creme brulee!
I was very impressed with this place. The chef came out to speak to us personally after saying I had a gluten allergy. He discussed all of my options and was willing to prepare anything I wanted GF, which was incredible. Food was really, really good. LARGE portions. Not sure about how they handle cross contamination in the kitchen but I'm a sensitive celiac and I did not get sick. Definitely a great option when going out with a large group of non-celiacs.
I was very impressed. The waiter asked if we had any allergies without prompting. The chef came to the table to discuss what we could order. They could make many things gluten free. My girls had spaghetti with meat sauce. I had chix parm with grilled chix. (3 celiacs) They even had gf creme brulee. We loved it.
By far one of the best gluten free experiences we had while in Chicago! They don't have a separate gluten free menu, but they can make almost any menu item with gluten free pasta. The chef came out to our table and helped me plan my meal. It was fantastic!! We actually ate here twice, because it was that wonderful!!
Not only a great place to eat but they also have a dedicated GF area and the chef is very accommodating. They also have live entertainment several nights a week. One of the few Italian restaurants that is celiac friendly.
Awesome! Can adapt almost any pasta dish, subbing a wonderful corn ziti. Good prices and classic dishes are two for one ( one to take home). Huge potions (share) and giant creme brulee. Good for kids.
There is no separate GF menu and GF items are not marked on the menu, but they can modify many items to be GF, and can use GF penne in the pasta dishes. The chef came out to discuss with us, which was reassuring. They say that they make a point of taking food allergies seriously. Food was good and portions were very generous. My one ding was that their wine list was generally overpriced compared to other restaurants.
Great experience. Hostess didn’t know anything about gluten free and she actually scared us a bit when we asked for a gluten-free menu. Once we were seated they brought gluten bread. Then our waitress showed up and she took care of everything! She took away the breads immediately, and brought gluten free bread. The menu explicitly said they had gluten free pasta. The chef came out from the kitchen to confirm all the sauces are gluten free and they have separate water for pasta. They thicken all their sauces with corn starch instead of flour. Then our waitress helped us with appetizer selection (they are not marked but she was knowledgeable). We also ordered a creme brûlée which was also delicious. No reactions at all, very good food, knowledgeable and careful staff, tiny bit expensive menu.
