This place was great. We ordered an appetizer and arepas and they were tasty. The staff were great with allergies and informed us that everything on the menu was gluten free. I would definitely go back and nobody got sick after eating here. Go early or reserve table ahead of time because they get crowded even on a Tuesday night.
Went here twice during a recent stay.
Everything is gluten free* and delicious. I also got the red sangria which was such a delicious drink, I wanted the recipe to make it at home.
*Always ask in case things change.
I also have issues with cilantro and the staff did a great job with modifying or directing me to avoid.
I had the Sampler, Choriarepa, and shared the Bandeja Paisa. The Tres Leches was also delicious.
If you are celiac and need a place to feel safe eating at, I highly recommend.
Absolutely DELICIOUS 😋 We've been here 3 times and like to try different things each time and everything We've tried has been delicious! We love the arepas with the chimichurri salsa. The elote is amazing! The tres leche and flan are wonderful as well. My husband decided he likes the tres leches better. The tre leches does have a different texture to it, but I still really liked it.
Wonderful experience. Asked server if items were in a separate fryer/gluten free safe area. They stated the entire menu is gluten free. The restaurant is 100% gluten free. The bar area has regular beer, etc, but be the kitchen is 100% gluten free facility. Hearts and bellies are happy!
**Always confirm with restaurant because protocols and menus may change.
We had such a delicious meal here! Casual vibe, friendly staff, delicious food. We went the night before Thanksgiving and it felt like they were a server short but overall service was good. I confirmed the entire menu was gluten free. If you are there for the arepas, know they are not dairy free. The empanadas on the starter menu were SO yummy.
Everything is GF, but not DF. DF options are the empanadas (only beef is offered, but they are delicious), salads, ceviche, and a couple entrees. None of the arepas are DF. I had the empanadas and shrimp ceviche which is quite spicy but good flavor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Delicious guava mojito.
Marinera Arepa and Ceviche were fantastic. Also the blackberry margaritas.
Was visiting family in New Orleans and saw this was one of the only dedicated gluten free restaurants in the city. I was craving a poboy and although an arepa is totally different the grilled shrimp with remoulade totally hit the mark. We had reservations and still had quite a wait (so don’t be in a rush if eating here). Would definitely come back next time I am in the area.
I LOVE MAÏS AREPA. I get the carne asada, and it is my favorite meal of all time. I order it every time I’m in town and eat the leftovers and never get sick of it. The appetizers are always so so good and always taste fresh. I love the limeade as well. I usually get arepas to take as leftovers/eat on the plane when I leave town.
My daughter is Coeliac and rarely has the confidence to eat out. We have eaten here 3 times this week. The food is fresh, healthy and delicious and a complete change from the high calorie deep fried food on offer elsewhere in the city. We all loved it and it was a treat to be able to watch my daughter eat out with confidence. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. I only wish we lived closer…
this place exceeded all of my expectations. everything is GF!! the staff was very attentive and friendly. we had great conversations with our waiter, and he knew a lot about everything on the menu. we ordered the tres leches cake (which was GF!!) and we got to talking with the man that brought it out. he asked if i was celiac and i said yes so they get it!! if you’re GF and in NOLA, this is the place to go!!
