i bring my own gf chips. order cheese enchiladas w rice. tell server gf. never had a problem. to go orders have always been safe, get the regular chips and give them to my non gf husband. w complimentary cheese sauce and salsa. they are super friendly and knowledgeable. fernando is THE BEST for to go orders. thanks!💃
Has a very nice gluten free menu. Their tortilla chips, queso and all of their salsas are gluten free as well!
I get the fajitas. They are delicious, and I have never had any issues. They also have gluten free chips and corn tortillas. Not every staff member seems to be knowledgeable. It’s good to tell whoever you order from to inform the kitchen of the allergy and have them heat the corn tortillas on the microwave
They didn’t have gluten-free chips at the end of the night. They make gluten-free chips in the morning. so unless you get there for lunch you’re very much out of luck. The food was good/fair. The wait staff was pretty rude. Apparently just asking about gluten-free options is incredibly inconvenient for them- based on the looks of on their face and the way that they openly spoke about how much trouble you were to other guests. There’s no way I’m going back. If you have celiac I recommend staying away
I asked for the GF menu. They did bring it.. but I asked about seasoning on the chicken and steak for the fajitas… the waitress said the chicken is soaked in a soy sauce base.. I didn’t understand why it was on the menu. So I am uncomfortable eating there. Their chips are not in a dedicated fryer.
Been for dinner a couple times. Separate GF menu. Manager came to table to go over order. Really great fajitas. Will be back.
We had the most amazing food! The staff was very nice and accommodating. I ordered cheese and beef enchiladas with refutes beans and rice and loved it! We will definitely be back!
Ordered online. Food was great and neither of us (both with celiac) got sick.
Ordering through their website was incredibly frustrating. Had me put in my address as FIRST step and then waited until I had put in my order, put in my payment info and created an account to tell me I was out of their delivery area. Also didn’t let me pick burrito bowls. Managed to order through postmates after that disaster and was able to order burrito bowl through them.
I ordered the cheese enchiladas with rice and black beans. I also had the quest and chips. I’ve read that there wasn’t a dedicated fryer, but the chips did not affect me. Great overall — our waitress had knowledge of GF and the moment I asked for a GF menu she then offered me corn instead of flour tortillas.
I got the mango and avocado chicken salad to go and it was great!!
I had really high hopes for Mama Roja and am completely disappointed. I knew that they had a gluten free menu because of this app. I asked our waitress for the gluten free menu and she said they didn't have one. She asked her manager to come to our table. He explained that they do have a GF menu and provided me with one. I then ordered the gluten free enchiladas. When the food was brought out I was given gluten. I asked if they could fix it. They did. During this, they completely forgot one of our party's meals and had to send it in again. They made a big deal about his meal being forgotten and he received a free meal but they didn't do much to accommodate my meal. The food was ok, you pretty much pay for the view of the lake. I will not be returning.
Great selection of gluten free items. Server was very knowledgable. Enjoyable stress free dinner!!!
We were visiting family, so we gave this app a try with some restaurants during a recent trip. Mama Roja does have a separate gf menu (request it at the hostess' stand), and, as with many Mexican restaurants, quite a few of the options are gluten free. The do NOT have dedicated fryers for gf foods, so even though guacamole, Queso, and other dips are on the gf menu, you'll have to request warm corn tortillas (like you'd get with fajitas), not chips. My son was very upset when we got our food (fish tacos, with grilled shrimp), and it had regular fried fish in the tacos. I grabbed a manager, and he asked 'did you tell the waiter it was gluten free?' Yeah, we had gluten free menus, had asked 4-5 questions about gluten free items, etc. It had been a long wait, and my son was starving. I felt really bad, because he started to cry. If he hadn't taken a look in his taco, he'd have been throwing up all night, guaranteed. They did bring us new plates quickly, and I saw the manager stand by the kitchen window to make sure they were done right and came right to us. They offered to comp us dessert, but... no real gf dessert choices <sigh>. Overall, the restaurant was cool, and the food was good. We watched World Cup matches while we ate. My son is highly gluten sensitive, and he didn't have a single issue, so we know they made things right. I just felt like I had to make a much bigger deal about this than I would at our normal restaurants.
Chips, salsa, queso, guacamole all GF. They have a great menu with lots of choices. I had enchiladas with rice and boracho beans. Large portions- one meal can feed two. My only complaint is the wait...we had to wait an hour, but it's really popular and trendy. It's more expensive than other Mexican restaurants, but worth it for the food.
The GF menu has a wide selection. Street tacos are my fav. Plus their tortilla chips and queso are GF! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff helped me navigate the GF menu.
