So grateful for this place! The owner has made such a huge effort to understand celiac and to make plenty of delicious, celiac-safe options. My husband who is not celiac but is Chinese is so happy to share some authentic, delicious food with me! Highly recommend the salt and pepper wings and feel free to ask the owner (who usually is the one that answers the phone) for suggestions! Every single dish I have had there over the last 6+ months have been phenomenal with zero reactions.

I haven't had chinese food for 3 years since being diagnosed with celiac. Food was amazing! I didn't get sick. They have lots of gluten free options. The waitress said she can make pretty much anything on the menu gluten free.

Old school Chinese place. Food was delicious (I got an egg drop soup and the lemon chicken entree). Just have to ask them what can be prepared gluten free - items are not marked on the menu. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a casual Chinese restaurant with GF options.

We drove 100 miles to come here and it was so worth it! Joanne is a delight and the food is amazing. My non-gf partner said his food was even better than the gluten version. Ordered extra to take home! Cannot wait to come back here.

Food is really delicious BUT it got me sick within an hour :( also the place is still living in COVID times. Masks, paper plates, water bottles. More like a picnic indoors.

WOW. Wish our trip was longer (and had discovered this place earlier). Had a few dishes and was what I remember restaurant Chinese tasting like. Everybody else eats gluten but went with GF options. They couldn't tell the difference. Was nervous at first because of getting sick on vacation. The woman who took our order knew all about gluten. As soon as I get off the plane on my next SD trip, this will be our first stop!

Amazing experience! The waiter knew all about gluten free (no flour, no soy sauce) and was able to tell me a bunch of things she could make. Beef was excellent and I got orange chicken to go. She said they started making gluten free bc they had a regulars who requested it. So sweet!

This was the first time I’ve had Chinese food since I found out I had celiac. The food was delicious and I had no bad reaction to it. I will definitely be coming here again. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Fabulous food! Limited menu is GF but loved the salt and pepper wings and beg, tomato, egg dishes. Wish I lived closer! Waiter was knowledgeable about GF.

Wow! Food tasted fresh like a home cooked meal. I’m celiac and I didn’t get sick. The owner is very kind and knowledgeable. We will definitely come back every time we visit San Diego!

The owner is so sweet! She’s very knowledgeable about Celiac and explained everything to us when we ordered. We got orange chicken with steamed rice and it was excellent. Went back again 2 days later for more, and will be back in the future!

Super accommodating owner. Small hole in the wall old school Chinese restaurant. Nothing fancy, standard fare food. The food is more like 3 stars but I’m giving 4 due to the restaurant being willing to help with our GF needs. It’s not easy to find Chinese food.
Woman who helped me knew about gluten and offered to modify dishes that were flexible - used corn starch instead of flour on sesame chicken; offered Mongolian beef without soy sauce and said it still would be flavorful; walnut shrimp; salt and pepper chicken wings... I appreciated how she took the time to think through the menu with me.

The owner is very knowledgeable about gluten free accommodations and will adjust any dish to make it gluten free. She even offers to fry with corn starch rather than flour to get that crispy result!

I had such a phenomenal experience ordering take out from here! I was ensured over the phone that the items I ordered would be ordered gluten free. I ordered honey walnut shrimp and the mushroom chicken based off the reviews on here and it did not disappoint at all! I haven’t been able to eat honey walnut shrimp in YEARS so this is certainly a restaurant I will return to time and time again. Plus the portions are HUGE!
Employees could not be sweeter or more helpful!

Daughter has celiac and she did not have any issues here! We ordered mushroom chicken, white sauce shrimp, and honey walnut shrimp (fried in cornstarch instead of flour). We loved the mushroom chicken and shrimp in white sauce (the other was good but the sauce was odd). Joanne was so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!
Stopped by here while traveling to San Diego. We were hungry and wanted to wait out some traffic. So glad we did! Real Chinese food made gluten free just for me. Even Egg Drop soup! Everything was excellent. Service was so careful and friendly. I haven't been able to get dine-out Chinese food in 17 years. So happy to have found them. Makes me wish I lived in San Diego! We had Sweet and Sour, and Mushroom chicken. Like others said- the mushroom chicken is the bomb. But the Sweet and Sour was also very good.

Excellent gluten free options. The entire staff understands the issues, and our server's daughter follows a gluten free diet. Essentially, dishes with a white sauce can be made gluten free, not dishes with a brown sauce.

The owners are so amazing and helpful when it comes to gluten free. They are always there and make sure to cook almost any item gluten free for you. They will use cornstarch instead of flour to batter chicken for you. They are the most kind people and are very willing to help. This is my go-to Chinese restaurant. Beautiful and quiet atmosphere as well. Ask for Joanne.

Love this place! The staff are great and can make anything gluten free on the menu. My sister and I had gluten free sesame and orange chicken
Placed a carry out order- lady on phone was very sweet and said just ask what you want and I will let you know. They made me honey walnut shrimp GF and fried with cornstarch. So excited!!
Was very helpful with making sure my dish was gluten free. The gluten free dishes aren't as exciting as their other dishes, but you don't have to worry when you eat here.
Yes
They can make the dishes without soy sauce but I suggest bring your own soy sauce because it just doesn't taste the same without it
The staff will make any dish gluten free except deep fried items. I recommend the mushroom chicken. The veggies are fresh and crisp. Fast friendly service. They Clean the wok between each dish.
