I had a wonderful gluten free dinner at Marea. Most of the menu is gf (including most of the house made pastas) and the staff was knowledgeable and careful about gluten cross contact and protocols. They even served gf bread and accompanying butters and dips, yum.
Among the dishes I tried: fresh oysters, various crudi (check with the sever on which ones are gf), the garganelli pasta with black truffle - half portion is an option, and shared the branzino, herbed mushrooms and broccolini. And gf tiramisu for dessert- so, so good. The wine list and cocktails are also great. Make sure to get advice from their sommelier if you’re interested in wine. Port wine with dessert at the end of the meal was maybe the best drink I had all year. I was super full after the meal but I wasn’t glutened (I’m celiac and sensitive to gluten).
Overall Marea is a great choice for a special dinner out. They were offering outdoor seating too, which I really appreciate.

"Service from hostess to wait staff and servers was excellent. My daughter has celiac disease. They were knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. There were several options. They brought GF toast without being asked and even brought us a dessert… tiramisu for her to try because it was gluten free and the waiter was so proud. My daughter loved it and had never been able to try it before. I have been to the restaurant at least 10 times and I always love it… the food.. the service and ambience. All excellent. So happy they were so good with GF.

Ate here a few months ago and forgot to review. Service was top notch, waiter was very knowledgeable, double checked a couple things with the kitchen when I had additional questions. Sommelier also top notch. Food was outstanding. Especially enjoyed the trio of fish crudi, the grilled octopus and the sole.

The waitstaff are extremely knowledgeable and advised that just about everything on the menu can be prepared gluten free so that it is celiac safe. The restaurant even has gluten free pasta available on request and I was assured that it is cooked in separate water from the regular pasta. After we placed our order, our waiter returned to tell us that he had spoken to the chef and that one item we had ordered (potatoes) could possibly be cross contaminated from the oil used to cook them and so the chef would be sauteing them in a separate pan using fresh oil. From this I could see that they take the possibility of cross contamination seriously and fully understand the risks to someone with Celiac disease. GF bread was offered and served separately from the rest of the bread and was delivered to the table covered in a linen napkin to prevent the possibility of CC.
Just about everything from the menu is available GF with the exception of a few desserts. This is a Michelin starred restaurant and the quality of the food is simply superb. The seafood is wonderful (I tied the oysters and a salt-crusted Branzino) and my wife and I also shared a mushroom risotto that was silky smooth with a wonderful earth taste. Service is attentive, knowledgeable, and unobtrusive as well as being friendly. I highly recommend Marea and felt completely safe eating here.
