Great experience and so nice to have options! My daughter loved her GF kids cheeseburger and fries! They have a dedicated fryer and the GF pizza was great too! Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly about it, which was so appreciated being I have a newly diagnosed celiac kid. Menu labels well and there are tons of GF options, things like corn tortillas, many GF sauces, etc.
Ate here last night and spoke with a manager as well as the waiter they have celiac staff and employment as well. They said they had a separate fryer and a separate oven to cook the pizzas. I ended up getting a cheeseburger with french fries and they would cook the cheeseburger on a pan versus using the griddle that they use for the other ones. I am a very symptomatic celiac and I did not get sick.
Such a wonderful surprise to find a restaurant close to home which has a lot of GF options, a dedicated fryer, and knowledgeable staff! Basic burgers, pizza, etc, but very good. We really like the grilled skewer appetizer, and the GF crust was great. Fun drink choices, too
4/26/24: Had a delicious dinner with friends. At least the fifth time I’ve been here without any issues.
Very disappointed. Ordered French fries and chicken wings. Both tested positive for gluten with nima tester. I spoke with a manager that didn't seem all that surprised that there's cross contamination in a gluten kitchen. The wings are cooked on a flat top which is the same place the bread gets toasted. Apparently they're supposed to clean it prior...if it comes through as an allergy. The fryer is supposed to be gf...however it is situated right next to the gluten fryer so that could explain the fries. I asked if anything was free of cross contamination...even a salad...and he said no "the pizza flour is in close proximity to the lettuce and fixings". This place is definitely not celiac friendly in my book.
Margie’s is a gem of the Twin Cities’ North Metro! There are a ton of options that are celiac safe- they have dedicated prep space, pizza oven (and two GF/one also dairy-free crusts) and fryer. It’s a real gift to have such knowledgable staff & so many options! This was our favorite restaurant pre-diagnosis and now I love it even more. Worth a drive!
A wonderful place with many gf options. It may be the restaurant with the most choices I have had since being diagnosed with celiacs a decade ago. Even better the food I ordered was delicious. I had steak and corn lettuce wraps, fries with aioli (many dipping sauces to choose from) and a truly wonderful creme brûlée. Friends had gf food though they didn’t have to and theirs was great as well. Will definitely go back?
Came here based on good reviews from this app. They had so many GF options! They have a dedicated fryer and the host told me they have a separate oven for their GF pizzas (I didn’t get a pizza so I did not confirm with our waitress). I got a steak and fries, and it also came with a veggie, I got green beans. The waitress made a note of a gluten allergy on our order without me asking. Also, almost all of their dipping sauces were marked GF, I got the truffle aioli for my fries and it was delicious. They also had GF buns for burgers. The cocktails were delicious as well. I highly recommend this restaurant simply for the amount of options they had. I rarely am able to choose from so many things.
I had heard great things about Margie’s, so last Friday my family went to test it out. My dad and I both have Celiac, my brother is vegan, and my mom has no dietary restrictions. We were all able to find something delicious (and within our diets)! My dad and I split the wing sampler (it’s listed under staters, but it’s HUGE! Definitely can feed 2 for a full meal). They were grilled and the fries have their own dedicated fryer. Our server was an absolute joy and recommended some great dipping sauces (I loved the chimichurri aioli with the fries and the sweet Thai chili dressing with the wings š). Definitely will be back!
My vegan brother said his vegan cheeseburger was the best he ever had!
