This is the very first restaurant I went to since being recently diagnosed with celiac disease, as I am fearful of resturants now in regards to cross-contamination. So, I was invited to lunch and was told to choose a restaurant. I Googled gluten-free restaurants near me, and after reading so many reviews for various restaurants, this restaurant stood out the most to me with their reviews. Went here a week ago on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and had the best experience. The employee taking my order ensured me the restuarant was a dedicated celiac friendly restaurant, so that calmed my nerves. I ordered the B.L.A.T. w/o chipotle mayo, and instead of romaine lettuce, I noticed the sandwich had arugula which I didn't mind at all, and for dessert I ordered a cupcake. The bread on the sandwich was lightly toasted, and overall the sandwich tasted delicious w/o mayo for me. Loved the crunchiness of the bacon. The cupcake I ordered was like a birthday cake with the rainbow sprinkles on top of the frosting, tasted fresh and was very moist. The ambience was great. The employees were friendly. It was busy and crowded, plus the music selection was good as we sat there and ate. Pricey, but I will definitely be returning.
Sweetest little cafe/bakery with amazing food! It was so nice to go in and order without telling them about my restrictions! Both me and my non-GF friend loved it!!! We both had breakfast sandwiches on bagels and shared a cinnamon roll. It was to die for, can’t wait to go back and try lunch!!!
This is the best place in the area for gluten-free food. Their dinner rolls, sandwich rolls, croissants and veggie pockets are absolutely to die for. So good. The cheesecake and cinnamon rolls are my favorite sweets. I have their wonderful products delivered to me now as I don’t live nearly close enough.
A great option - though it seems like everytime we go it takes longer and longer for hot food and staff is aloof about that. Still a big fan, but I think twice and make sure I have a lot of time before ordering food that needs to be prepared (sandwiches, etc).
Fantastic, dedicated GF bakery. Cookies, cakes, pies, pastries, bread. You can also order lunch: gf sandwiches like a Ruben or BLT or pizza. Sandwiches come with salad or chips. They also have frozen pastas and lasagna to take home with you. A little pricey, but worth it!!!
The food is pretty good, but they lack a little on customer service, e.g., they used to make a good veggie pizza with & without cheese. They no longer make it without, so those of us both gluten- & dairy-free are out of luck, and the won't make adjustments. Also not all products are available at all times.
Dedicated GF facilities, which is important for those gluten free by necessity. Tasty cakes and great breads yummy margarita pizzas. Nice atmosphere. Got my birthday cake here and LOVED it!! And I am a giant cake snob (probably how I developed my intolerance).
This place is amazing! We had cookies (chocolate chip and molasses), cinnamon rolls, the Californian, the Reuben, a BLT, maple pecan Bundt (amazing), bagels, and pumpkin whoopie pies! Everything was delicious. We went for breakfast and lunch and there is actual seating at this location (San Fran ferry building does not have seating other than outside or in the general mall). There were so many choices that were also DF (and latex free). Highly recommend. Would eat here all of the time if I could! The staff was very friendly here and helpful. Wish we would have gotten the apple galette when we were there for breakfast because they were all gone by the time we went back for lunch. The only thing we wanted but we couldn't have because of the dairy was the pumpkin pie - wish they would make a dairy free version. Highly recommend!
Wonderland. Literally, overwhelming. It was so great to have options. THE BEST CINNAMON ROLLS EVER! You can't even tell the difference. It was all amazing. We almost got through without my husband seeing the full hanging menu, but he had a bit of a shock when he looked ip. Very attentive and patient staff. Maybe the best part of the trip.
I went in recently and got pecan pie, butternut squash ravioli, bagels, and a cinnamon roll. Everything was delicious so I am giving 5 stars. A few complaints - the crust for the pie was not that great but the filling more than made up for it! The bagels were a little gummy but still quite good. The ravioli was amazing and the cinnamon roll was perfect! I've never been a fan of their bread so I don't buy it.
Not only does everything they sell look incredible, it all tastes just as delicious! Visiting this bakery was like a dream. I ate half of what I ordered from the bakery while I was still there ogling over all the items they have for sale. So I got back in line and bought even more of everything I had just scarfed down. Mariposa Bakery sells everything from croutons, baguettes, croissants, challah, rye bread, cupcakes, cakes, brownies, pies, bagels, poptarts, cookies, graham crackers, biscotti, cinnamon rolls, bread rolls, focaccia, sandwiches, salads, lasagne, empanadas, pizza, and chicken pot pie! It's difficult not to want to buy everything in site when you visit this bakery! I can't wait to go back to San Francisco and explore more of the city's Celiac safe spots.
