This place is 100% gluten-free and a must for anyone with celiac disease. I never go to the Ferry Building without a stop at Mariposa. Everything is delicious, especially the croissants and bear claws. Go early in the day, many favorites are sold out by early afternoon.
Great food! Incompetent staff. Waited 25 minutes for a breakfast sandwich with only 4 people waiting for orders. Had two people request refunds because of the terrible service. After trying to figure out went wrong I was just told they had a small kitchen. Made no sense, considering I ordered the exact same thing 15 minutes after my wife and received it already. Management needs to have a meeting with staff.
Very lucky that this is a constant here. The yummy sandwiches and of course the popular cinnamon roll, coffee cake and lemon cake. My once in a while is the pop tarts.
This is the best place in the area for gluten-free food. Their dinner rolls, sandwich rolls, croissants and veggie pockets are absolutely to die for. So good. The main bakery in Oakland has more selection, but this place has a lot. The cheesecake and cinnamon rolls are my favorite sweets.
I'm a celiac allergic to dairy. I'm all about the savory bready items. Don't let looks fool you with some of the items. The pretzel (looks pathetic at sight) is 100% authentic tasting. My non gluten free friends actually bought after tasting mine. Bagels, Foccacia, Baguettes available in addition to the cakes, brownies and cookies.
OMG! Absolutely amazing gf croissants! So nice to have croissants again!
Bought food here several times, delicious, lots of choices, savouries, pastries or hot sandwich's.
Cute GF shop with a few vegan options. I expected more of a bakery with some cafe seating, but that wasn’t the case. It was fine because they are located in the market ferry bldg and there is plenty of seating in the back by the bay. I got the mocha cupcake (I was debating btwn that flavor & chocolate), but the lady there recommended the mocha and I know why. It’s topped with a chocolate covered nut. The frosting is delicious and not too sweet. The cake was moist and also not overly sweet. I also purchase a pretzel, tart and muffin. I’ll update this once I’ve tried them.
This is hands-down the best gf bakery! We got several loaves of the best gf bread I've ever had and I had a croissant for the first time in 10+ years. This place is a definite must if you're in the Bay Area.
Gf yum yum yum..... Muffins delicious.... Veggie pocket a great lunch option... Hubby- not gf but loved the cinnamon bun...... so greatfull to be able to order and not worry about cross contamination.....ordered their pizza crusts by mail.in the past.... Very good as well.
Delicious and celiac safe! The mecca of gf pastries!!!
I can’t even describe how good this place is. Their gluten free bread is the very best I’ve ever had.. and it is corn and oat free too! I got the steak sandwich today and it was delicious. I felt very safe as all ingredients are clearly listed and they are a dedicated GF faculty! What a find!!!
Glad to have found a GF bakery, and I appreciate their efforts, but the bear claw was dense and lacked flavor, and we were bummed that the almond cookie was more like a coconut macaroon. The vegetable pie was good. Kitchen was already closed when we arrived so maybe that has better options, and maybe the other locations are better, but this was just ok.
Best place I have ever been for gluten free food! The cinnamon rolls were delicious! They also have soy and dairy free food! 10/10 If it wasn’t 1000 miles away from where I live would go every day!!
The fact that this is an entirely gluten-free bakery deserves five stars overall in my mind, but here's a breakdown of what I got: Baguette: great taste and AMAZING texture when toasted, I forgot how much I missed this. 5/5 Dark chocolate cookies: very moist and chocolatey, which is good, but they do have a bit of a noticeable "gluten-free" taste; I'm not quite sure how to describe it. 3.5/5 Banana chocolate muffin: very prominent banana flavor, which I personally like. It was a bit crumbly and fell apart easily, but it tasted good. 4.5/5 It's also worth noting that the kitchen was closed when I got there (5:30, half an hour before closing), so I couldn't order anything from the menu. It's reasonable, but I would have appreciated some warning of that on the website.
My mom and I tried a cinnamon roll and breakfast sandwich. So so good!! The cinnamon roll was amazing (I didn’t believe it was gluten-free) and the breakfast sandwich had a yummy chipotle mayo sauce! I did not get sick, safe for celiacs!
It took me just a bit to find Mariposa among all the stalls in the hall. It’s always exciting to find good things that are safe to eat especially when surrounded by things you can’t. I did find it difficult to find a place to sit. The common table area was quite dirty and full of crumbs. I ended up pulling a chair away from the tables and trying to juggle my treats.
This place was amazing! Truly a gem. I went back twice in the short 2 days we had. The cherry cheese danish was the first ive ever had. The cinnamon rolls were incredible. The cookies were so heavy and delicious.
This place is insane. The chocolate croissant and regular croissant are legit. My gluten eating dad couldn’t tell the difference.
Although it was expensive, the whole bakery was gluten free and everything was AMAZING!! I highly recommend the cherry cheese danish. They also labeled other allergens that some of their food was free from.
Traveling here for a conference, finding this place was like finding the holy grail! Best GF breakfast sandwich I can simply recall and chocolate-chocolate cookie was as good as I’ve ever had. Thank you!
This was a ‘must visit’ for me while in SF and I was NOT disappointed! I had an incredible cinnamon bun, Herman chocolate cupcake, and even brought home a box of biscotti to enjoy!
Great find! Dedicated GF facility and they have yummy pastries. They also make breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches.
Wow what a fabulous place. The breakfast sandwich is delish, also the cheese and ham pastry. I was truly spoilt for choice and felt like I was in food heaven :)
This now one of my go-to stops in San Francisco. Love the sandwiches, pastries and baked goods. It's 100% gluten-free. You can even take your food over to the wine place across the hall and eat it with a glass of wine.
The chocolate chocolate chip cookies are to die for. You’d never know they were GF. Chocolate croissants and graham crackers are great. I’m not a fan of the regular bread or croutons. ***They do mail orders!***
Everything is 100% gluten free! I have celiac and had no issues. The breakfast sandwiches are super good!
Delicious and safe! Breakfast and lunch items and pastries!
Sooooo worth the trip. My heart is smiling I am so happy. I had Bear Claw, croissant, Danish pastry and more. Celiac heaven.
I came here today as I’m on vacation and sampled one of their cupcakes. It’s so hard to find good quality GF cakes and this place delivered, it was very tasty indeed. Only downside was the price, personally I felt that everything here was a little on the expensive side.
I loved The empanadas and cinnamon roll. I felt good too. I am celiac and very sensitive To Cross contamination.
This place has very friendly staff and is very celiac disease friendly, thank you!! As a student it is very hard to find fast food that is delicious and gluten free. I would recommend this place to anyone, with or without celiac.
It's celiac friendly but I wouldn't call it friendly. First of all, ouch these prices. $9 for a stack of 10 graham crackers, $13 for 8 ravioli, $40 for a 6" lemon cake!!! Second, the guy at the counter was so rude. I spent $14 on two pastries to be treated like I was wasting his time when I asked for a recommendation, and then he barked "follow the prompts" when I didn't hear him because his nice co-worker was giving me a recommendation and I only have one hearing ear. The veggie and cheese croissant was good though.
Great! Near BART & Ferry - whenever I come into the city this is my celiac go to snack spot. Veggie Pockets: my favorite (downside: small ravioli package $13, etc. $$$)
Had a delicious delicious turkey sandwich here for lunch today. Picked up a chocolate chip cookie as well, and it's the best gluten free cookie I've ever had. Lots of choices. I'll be back!
A bit expensive, but gluten free heaven!
Chicken pot pie was excellent! Croissant was buttery and delicious! Cinnamon roll was good (but I believe I found the absolute best gf cinnamon rolls elsewhere, and they are hard to beat.)
Out of this world! Toasted half a baguette for me to eat with cheese and pate I had gotten from other vendors. All the products are clearly marked for allergens. Best of all it tastes great!!!! Don't miss this place
I'm Celiac and ate there yesterday, and did not get sick. I had an amazing tasting steak sandwich. It was expensive though.
Everything here is delicious! I tried the cinnamon roll, ham and cheese pocket and apple turnover. Everything had the texture non gluten free item. It was fabulous!
Fantastic so much choice and tasted great. The Ferry building is also a really nice place to have a walk around.
I'm celiac and i don't recommend this bakery. They don't certify it's GF, so if you are celiac, avoid it!
Great place! My kids were overwhelmed by variety and taste. Avocado toast was great! So was the cinnamon role.
Completely gluten free bakery with amazing pastries and the full range of savoury and sweet creations, located in the Ferry Plaza market.
Amazing bakery items - loved the cheese danish and the cinnamon roll. I could not believe they were gluten-free and they ship items! I will be ordering! :)
Amazing food, all gluten free, with additional notations of dairy free, nut free, etc.
everything here is amazing and 100% gf!!! make sure to get a cinnamon roll!!!
100% gluten free with other allergens called out for each product. I'll be back tomorrow!
Wow great place to pick up gf treats. Amazing apple turnovers and cinnamon buns! Breakfast sandwich was also very good.
Everything here is gluten free and even without oats as well. Lots of things are dairy and soy free as well and everything is marked. I've been here a couple of times however I once came around 40 min. before closing time. Kitchen was closed (fair enough) but they had sold out of everything! I recommend the breakfast sandwich in a bagel with salmon and a cinnamon roll for dessert :-)
