So many amazing baked goods! Was almost in tears when eating their croissant as I have not had one for years and it was soooo delicious. The cherry popovers and pain-au-chocolat were incredible; so flaky & buttery. They also have soft pretzels, bread, cinnamon rolls, hand-pies...I had a hard time deciding. They serve sandwiches as well, and some packaged items. Wish I lived in SF so I could go here all the time! Cute spot, too, in the Ferry Building Marketplace (basically the only safe place to eat there). Unfortunately they do close early (4p).

Mariposa Baking Company is truly a gem of a find for those seeking gluten-free options, with additional choices catering to dairy-free and vegan preferences. My experience at Mariposa left me pleasantly surprised, with a variety of tempting offerings to choose from. I indulged in the Fig Jam & Goat Cheese Toast, and it was nothing short of heavenly. The combination of flavors was delightful, and the gluten-free baguette provided a perfect canvas for the rich and creamy goat cheese complemented by the sweet fig jam. However, my husband's experience with the Bacon & Egg Breakfast Sandwich fell a bit short of expectations. Despite requesting it without cheese, tomatoes, or chipotle mayo, it arrived with mayo, which he dislikes, and the bread wasn't toasted, resulting in a somewhat mushy texture. This made it challenging to eat without utensils. I regretted not trying the Curried Empanada, as it sounded intriguing and likely would have been a delicious choice. In addition to our main selections, we sampled some penguin cupcakes, which were enjoyable, and my husband particularly praised the excellent quality of the pretzel and the taste of the rye bread. The dinner rolls reminded us of the Scharr round loaves, and the sandwich bread held up well.

Fabulous place for GF people! I highly recommend bagel with cream cheese and cinnamon rolls. They have a stand in the ferry building, you can take the food and sit in the common area with the view of the bay. So much choice! Loved it.

Dedicated gf & allergen-aware. Eaten here several times—delicious, no problems. The hot food is solid, but the baked goods are top notch. Flaky cinnamon rolls, but I prefer the awesome savory, cheesy pastries. The CHEDDAR SCONE is my favorite and worth the trip on its own!

Absolutely delicious food at this place. Went a little wild and got hand pies, a baguette, croissants, donuts, and muffins- all to die for. And no oats in their main flour mix so most baked goods are safe for those allergic :)

It’s a little storefront within the ferry building so there isn’t a place at the bakery to stop and eat, but a short walk takes you to plenty of seating. A little pricey but we’ll worth it for the gf goodies. We will come again!!

Mariposa has come a long way since I first tried them ~ 13 years ago. Most of the baked goods are very good, and my non-gluten free family craves them as well. The only items that I've found a little disappointing were some of the sandwiches.

Mariposa Bakery exceeded our expectations!! Certified GF. We had the curried empanada, bear claw, egg and bacon sandwich and pan de chocolate. Those of us with celiacs didn’t get sick and the other families really enjoyed the flavor also.

I visited this bakery with great enthusiasm that quickly faded. I've eaten at numerous bakeries in Europe, Australia, and America, and if this is the best San Francisco has to offer (as it seems from recommendations), it's very disappointing. The pastries I bought were okay but nothing special (especially not for $6 per pastry). The Pain au Chocolat's pastry lacked the expected flakiness, and the chocolate pieces inside were not particularly flavorful. The cinnamon roll, while tastier, was overly sweet, with an additional layer of sugar on top. People with gluten allergies or celiac disease should not settle for this. While I appreciate that it's safe, there's room for improvement in making cakes more flavorful. It would have been a pleasant experience if there were indoor seating available for enjoying the food in a more relaxed atmosphere.

My first cinnamon roll since diagnosis, did not disappoint. I mean, nothing can beat traditional cinnamon rolls, but this came close. I do wish they would have warmed them up before serving, though. The chocolate croissant and apple turnover were also delicious. I love that this bakery is 100% gluten free, so no risk at all of cross contact.
