The staff was knowledgeable about their gluten sensitivity menu and asked the person preparing the food to change his gloves. Had the spudmax. It was ok. Been here a couple of times and the spud was delicious but this time lacked toppings that gives it the flavor. Still, I'd come here again.

Called to ask about gluten free. The guy that answered the phone said they have a gluten free bun. I asked what other things did they have that would be gluten free and he said I don’t know. That was all the information I needed. I didn’t even bother going. It’s not worth the risk!

Selection is limited. But I do like the loaded spud. It’s very good and they have natural lemonade.

I had heard that they had good GF options and delicious GF bread. I can confirm both! There are a variety of loaded baked potato, salad, and soup options if you aren't feeling a sandwich. If you're looking for a hearty sandwich that doesn't feel GF, check them out! Lemonade is great too!

The staff was definitely knowledgeable about gluten free food and when I asked for gluten free bread and ordered chili they informed me that the normal chili was not gluten free and offered me the vegitarian chili in its place. In all, this is a good place for people with gluten intolerance to eat

Very few “gluten sensitive” choices and the staff was not knowledgeable. There was one salad identified as GS but none of the dressings are. Baked potatoes were about the only other GS options. Nothing GF.

Gluten free items on menu plus can make most sandwich options GF. Definitely a rare find in Owensboro.

Very disappointed not to be able to get a sandwich. Gluten free menus is extremely limited. Baked potatoes for the most part. Not sure what happened to the gluten free bread.

Been there 3 times this week. I've had a salad one time and a sandwich another. My son had a potato. There website has an allergen feature and the menu uses a symbol to show you what is possible to eat. Their sweet tea and lemonade are awesome too.

(Celiac) NEVER had a bad experience or a problem after eating here. A go-to when time is tight bc right down the street. Many GF options and have always been open to helping me. Believe all lunchmeat is Gf. Chili is GF and great on potato (Spud ole) GF bread for sandwiches tastes good. Chips available. Safe win for me.

They had gluten free bread - Udi’s I think. I got a spicy southwest chicken and it was hot and delicious! Took 20 min to prep sandwiches so we ordered ahead. Nice selection of baked potatoes w toppings as well.

They cannot toast the bread so I ordered a salad. The salad came out with croutons and crackers. I walked out.

I think they should have more gluten free options and all McAlisters deli should have gluten free bread

The GF bread is ok. When we went the staff was not aware about how to handle the GF orders or what sauces were ok to order. Bread is toasted on shared toasted. Sometimes they will but foil over it to protect the bread but sonetimes they don't. Last time here manager informed me when they are busy they cannot guarantee that they can accommodate special instructions on orders. Wasnt happy to be told after we ordered but i understand that when busy they dont want to make promises they can keep. We will not return and do not reccomend foe celiac.

Great experience! The kid who took our order who was probably only 18 was able to give us clear information on what was and wasn't gluten free. He was able to modify the kids menu and put it on gluten free bread. He had them change gloves and the whole experience was fantastic. I felt very safe eating there and none of us got sick. I have Celiac Disease and so do my 3 children and we all are fine!

Food quality is typical for a chain, but it is nice to have options there and they have a list of GF menu items on the counter.

I have eaten sandwiches here safely, but be sure to ask for the mayo and mustard in single-serve packets! If I hadn't brought this up, they were going to make my sandwich dipping into the regular sandwich mayonnaise... A surefire way to get glutened. Very friendly staff and good food. Just be super upfront about your celiac!

They offer a gluten free bread substitute. My sister and I both have celiac, and we are pretty sensitive and we have never had problems eating here. They do good with keeping food safe for you. Make sure you tell them to change gloves, and if you are getting bread toasted make sure they have it covered in tinfoil or don’t toast it. They have a menu and on it you can find the gluten free marks.

I was disappointed that they dont have the glutten free bread so I ordered the potato. That is always gf. I wish all McAllister's had the bread. Manager said customers ask for it all the time.

Celiac

Has "gluten sensitive" options, but not many, and the workers were not very aware of Celiac Disease or cross contamination. I asked if the chicken had seasoning on it and they said yes but didn't know what because it comes pre-cooked and seasoned and they just warm it up. I did, however, feel safe eating a baked potato with bacon. So it's doable, but I wouldn't call it Celiac friendly with the pre-packaged food and no claims of gluten free.

Some salads and baked potatoes can be prepared gluten free. Have never gotten sick here. Just remind them of your Celiac/allergy.
