I went in but the staff was unsure and not knowledgable and told me they had gluten free bread but when I spoke to the manager he said they didn’t. I felt unsafe eating there so I left.
so many things went wrong here: 1. of the many soups on the menu, there was one available for the day, and it was only 11 am. 2. my salad was literally drenched in dressing. It should have been called balsamic dressing with bits of organic greens and beets. 3. our server hated her job and me for asking any type of questions and thrust the menu towards me, as if the menu would magically answer all of my questions about gluten. 4. the house made lemonade? what a joke, it tasted like anything but homemade.
Excellent omelet and huge portions. Very cute place with great atmosphere as well. Staff seemed very knowledge about gluten free options.
Good choices. Excellent food
Very cool place with lots of gluten free breakfast options.
great atmosphere and lots of choices including crepes and French toast. prices are great for Chicago!
I am gluten intolerant, not Celiac. This is my go to spot for breakfast in the neighborhood. I love their potatoes! Super tasty! There are a good amount of choices, including GF French toast, which is really good. Being able to get a side of GF toast with my egg dishes is really nice too. I prefer this spot over Yolk South Loop on weekends since Meli is much less crowded and quieter. I've never had a problem here and recommend if you are gluten intolerant.
Made me feel really sick and they asked if it was a serious allergy and I replied with yes and I still got super sick I got the crepes and a friend got the French toast both gluten free and we did not feel good after but overall good service but besides that not very good
Hi This is not a gluten free restaurant. They are gluten FRIENDLY. I went there because I thought it was gluten free but when I went through my allergies, they told me they were not a gluten free kitchen. So, the only thing I could get was a salad because the chef was able to wash out the bowl. If you have a gluten allergy, this is not the place for you. Very deceptive advertising.
It's amazing! Oh my, I can't say enough good things about this place!! The GF pancakes are so good! They are some of the best pancakes I've ever had, even comparing them to non-GF varieties. The presentation, service and flavor are top notch. It's a must visit before you leave Chicago!
Had gf crepes. The staff did not seem to understand the seriousness of food allergies. Three different people gave me three different sets of ingredients for the crepes. My son (tree nut allergy) didn't feel good after eating here. I gave him benedryl. I would be very cautious.
I was lured in by their appearance in this app. They have GF options but their pancakes and crepes are cooked on the same surface. The server was great to warn me and I should have heeded that warning. An hour after ordering a (blah) salad as what I felt would be my safest option, my belly is now bloated, I feel half asleep and the brain fog heaviness is rolling in. I guess I'll find out how badly I was glutened by tomorrow. I definitely don't recommend if you are severely sensitive. I was going to bike on this beautiful day, now I'm gonna waste it with my head down.
