The menu clearly starts what is GF and RGF (Request GF, where they are able to make a bread substitution). I choose a limited time item off the summer menu. It was tasty. You order at a counter and get your own drink, but the staff does bring the food to you. This location has a parking garage right behind it so once you know where you're going, that's fine (I hadn't been to this center before and was concerned at first).sadly, there was no gf sweet treats at Mendicino Farms. This app showed multiple other choices in the same center as options, but I didn't try them out.
I got the Chimchurri steak and bacon sandwich and it was soooo delicious!! I got it on their gluten free bread with a kale and apple rainbow salad! Both were really good but the sandwich was the star. I didn’t get glutened. It is a safe place to eat. I feel there is a decent amount of gluten free items. You have some options to choose from instead of having a select few.
I tried Mendocino Farms for a work lunch today. My cashier was very helpful in addressing my celiac disease as I explained up front what it was and she flagged my ticket as gluten allergy and explained that they would change gloves and handle with care.
What concerns me is they have GF and RGF markings on the menu to indicate what is already gluten free and what can be requested gluten free. I ordered a pink beets and goat cheese salad which is marked as “GF,” but when I made the clerk double check and she pulled out a binder with ingredient information, she said they had to remove both the honey roasted almonds AND the goat cheese from the salad in order for it to be gluten free. It is unclear to me whether they pose a contamination risk or literally contain gluten, but either way, this is clearly not something that should be marked as GF if they have to modify it.
This restaurant also poses the usual problems of charging $15 for a salad and modifying several of the core ingredients without removing the charges. This is not atypical, just annoying
Great gluten-aware option for a healthy meal. Lots of salads and sandwiches that are GF or can be made GF (also lots of veggie/vegan options).
GF Sandwiches are made in a separate work space, and bread is toasted in its own separate toaster (no CC). My partner and I split the avocado quinoa salad and the Turkey-Avo Salsa Verde sandwich (on GF bread), and both were delicious. Be warned, the salsa on the sandwich is SPICY!
A nice sandwich place with gf and gf optional items for lunch. I had a steak sandwich on gf bread. (The person taking the order asked if it was preference or allergy. He seemed to take it seriously. The sandwich was very good and the bread held up for most of the meal. The deli case has a variety of sides but not many are gf. I opted for the potato chips. The sandwich was definitely worth the visit and I would go again in the future.
