If I could leave no stars I would. I spoke with a server that thought gluten was from the cooking oil to a manager that was NOT knowledgeable at all. I absolutely do not recommend.
I had to amend my review after going several times and eating the chips and other food.
Until they are very clear like in a separate menu with nutritional guidance, I cant say what is gf here and what isnt. I changed my review because after experiencing symptoms after eating the chips I have to say the chips are probably in a shared fryer...or at least close enough to the other fryer to get oil from it in the “gf” fryer.
It was great food. But unfortunately until they are more honest with their customers about what is in their food, im opting out.
I used to go to Los Vaqueros. I had symptoms after going there. A year or so after i had been regularly eating crunchy tacos because I was told the menu was safe the waiter I had finally told me they fried the taco shells in a shared fryer. I often feel the same way after eating chips here that i felt at Los Vaqueros.
Also every time I ask about certain foods all they say is it is safe...but im not sure they realize that gluten can be in things like worsteshire saunce etc.
Great food and service. I had their seafood enchiladas which are made with corn tortilla and had no issues with cross contamination. Would highly recommend them to anyone trying to avoid gluten.
They do not have a separate gluten free menu. You have to rely on your server and their understanding of Gf. When I asked about the chips I was told that usually they were fried separately. When my server went back into the kitchen to check, she said that they were fried in a shared fryer. So, be careful and be very specific if you want to eat here. I had to double and triple check to see what I could eat. The food was good and I didn’t have a reaction.
Knowledgeable staff. Corn tortillas made in-house. Overall delicious and Celiac-safe experience!
The fryer is not dedicated. When I asked I was told no. My meal was good.
Almost everything is gluten free - all tortillas are corn. Seems safe for celiacs.
