They made sure to tell the people preparing my meal that it was gluten-free.

I ordered off the GF menu and they specifically asked if I had celiac, and then explained that they would clean all surfaces, change their gloves, use clean utensils, use a dedicated GF fryer for my fries, avoid and areas where bread is processed, and explained to me what sauces I could and could not safely use. They were extremely thurough and understand what celiac is. I'm so greatful to have this place around!

I have eaten at the Gurnee Mission BBQ multiple times. In the past, I’ve been fine and have noticed zero issues. This past visit, however, left me sick, very likely due to cross contamination. I noticed that employees were switching “stations” regularly while we waited, so the person giving out the orders (and opening the containers to show what was in each) had been handling the cornbread just seconds before without changing their gloves. They do seem to have a set process for dealing with gluten free, but it seemed as though certain employees didn’t seem to follow it.

Staff knowledgeable. Separate menu with good options - pulled pork, chicken, baked beans, fries are all good options. Some sauces are also gluten free. Inform when ordering - they will change gloves.
Gf Menu, attentive staff great food.
Tip: get sauce in Togo containers and not ones on table due to possible public cross contamination. Exercise caution at beverage area, suggest bottled water or pop to be sure.

I love this food. It has its own menu with a lot of items on it. The treat GLUTEN Free like it’s a real thing and make extra sure to be helpful. The food is excellent and the service is even better. I love having a variety of food and sauces to chose from! Thank you Mission!
They do have a gluten free menu. Never had an issue here.

This is my second visit to Mission in 6 months. I don't recall what I ordered in December bit it didn't bother me. This trip I ordered the smoked hamburger without a bun (no gf option) with mashed potatoes. This will be a regular visit when I'm in DE.
